The LTL Professional Accreditation Scheme is the leading award for school grounds designers, consultants and outdoor learning trainers.

Benefits to you

As an LTL Accredited Professional you will be able to:

  • Connect with the strongest network school outdoor learning and play consultants in the UK.
  • Display the LTL Accredited Professional Logo.
  • Access unique and valuable resources and information shared by LTL and Accredited Network members. Typically this includes processes, audit tools, training programme outlines and resources.
  • Have the option to take on contracts for work, as LTL responds to enquiries, bookings and projects.
  • Learn from the two days quality training and networking, with additional quality assurance through your Assessment Tasks and Portfolio.

Why the LTL Accredited Professional Network?

The professional network gives LTL the ability to quality assure the advice, guidance and services that Professional LTL members provide to schools and settings. This gives schools and settings the confidence that the person they are using will work in a way to get the best possible results for the children, staff and community.

The Professional Network is a group of some of the most respected and experienced professionals in school grounds and outdoor learning across the UK and internationally. In facilitating this network, members and LTL ensure they are up to date with current practice, creative ideas and opportunities.

LTL often have to be reactive to funding and training enquiry opportunities. The accredited professional network allows LTL to respond to these needs by contracting out work. It is important to note that we can never guarantee work opportunities for our accredited network.

You

Our candidates typically have at least two years of experience in the route they choose. This will be across at least three projects or programmes and include consultant level work.

Please note that an application to attend is not a guarantee of acceptance onto the course. There is some pre-course preparation and reading.

Which route to choose?

Accreditation in Transforming Spaces

This accreditation is for design professionals with at least two years' experience of work in education settings, who want to accredit their practice and demonstrate a better understanding of the role the outdoors has in teaching, learning and play. This will enable them to offer a service that maximises the potential of outdoor spaces and fully meets the needs of whole school communities.

Accreditation in Transforming Practice

This accreditation is for education professionals with at least 2 years' experience of working with schools and nurseries to support improvements in educational practice or play. It will help them support and encourage whole school communities to improve their knowledge, skills and confidence in the use of outdoor spaces for learning and play. Typically you will be a senior leader in school, outdoor learning officer or business that offers training and support to schools and nurseries.

Note we have a small number of professionals who are dual Accredited.

Assessment

The course is assessed by submission of a portfolio of evidence, in either consultancy and design work or consultancy and training work, and a short written paper. The written paper has some short questions and some scenario based questions. This is due 6 months after the training course.
