Practical Strategies for Building Resilliance

Support Worker, Human Rights

Start date

End date

Overview

Maintaining and building resilience can be challenging when working in the front-line services of the third and public sector, especially in a climate of growing pressure and limited funding. How do we ensure we do the best by ourselves and the people we support to ensure we can continue our work?

This training will develop an understanding of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and 'burn out', whilst providing practical tools to recognising signs and tackling symptoms. These tools will enable learners to recognise the importance of their own self care, and how this contributes to a sustainable and supportive working environment.

What you will learn

• how to define and recognise the symptoms of Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma and Secondary Traumatisation
• how to identify the importance of maintaining resilience when working in a front-line service
• how to apply tools to consider own reflective practice and self-care
