Restorative Justice Skills (RJS) is a 4day accredited course (22-23 February & 15-16 March) teaching you the practice of restorative approaches. These can be used in a range of settings to restore balance where harm has been experienced. This includes the criminal justice system among victims and offenders, in youth work, education and faith groups. It is suitable for prison staff, police officers, youth workers, mentors, teachers, faith leaders and others. The course is at entry-level, suitable for those who want to learn the skills to facilitate direct and indirect approaches.
Content includes: understanding the principles of RJ, working with victims and offenders, preparing participants for RJ conference, conference skills practice (co-facilitation in pairs), indirect restorative approach (shuttle/letters), risk and safety assessments.
