Safeguarding Children Course

Overview

This Safeguarding Children course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of the different types of child abuse and how to recognise the signs.

By being better able to identify the signs of abuse early, you could save someone from further harm. Abuse is a sensitive topic for all involved but, knowing how to identify and deal with abuse is essential.

The aim of this course is to introduce you to the following:

• Safeguarding children: The law
• How to recognise abuse
• What you need to do

On this course, we cover the following modules:

Module 1 – Understanding the law

In this module, you will learn about:

• Legislation and policies
• What safeguarding is
• The definition of abuse
• The responsibilities of an organisation

Module 2 – Recognising abuse

In this module, you will learn about:

• Physical abuse
• Psychological or emotional abuse
• Sexual abuse
• Neglect

Module 3 – What you need to do

In this module, you will learn about:

• What your responsibilities are if you suspect abuse
• A simple process you can go through if you suspect abuse
• What to do if no one is responding – Referral Directory

Module 4 – Abuse comes in different forms

In this module, you will learn about:

• Different situations and how to handle the situation appropriately

Module 5 – Support

In this module, you will learn about:

• The impacts of stress
• Helping a child
• Dealing with stress
• Sources of help

Exams and Accreditation Features:

• This course is accredited by The CPD Standards Office and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality and BIIAB.
• Our Online test will be multiple choice. You can retake the test at no extra cost to improve your grade.
• An accredited certificate is awarded upon completion which enable you to obtain certified CPD hours.

E-Learning Format

This eLearning is accessed through a dedicated learner portal. Your course material is presented in an interactive and easy to follow presentation enabling you to study at your own pace.

The course is divided into simple sections with a short quiz at the end of each to test your knowledge. Once you have progressed through each of the course sections you can complete an end of course quiz which consists of multiple-choice questions based on the material that you have studied.

Once you have passed the course you can download your fully accredited CPD certificate (PDF format) directly from your learning account.

Duration and Time Limit

The Safeguarding Children's course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete, although there is no time limit and you can do it in your own time and in stages.

Certificate

Completing this course is the perfect way to prove your knowledge. The certificate achieved is fully registered with the CPD Standards Office.

You don’t need to have any previous training to do this course.

In order to complete this course, you must achieve 70% or more in the final multiple-choice quiz.
