Overview

Edventure:Frome are looking for students to work on a start up project focussed on sustainability and building a zero carbon economy.

The edventure: START-UP course is a hands on training in community based entrepreneurship. You will spend 10 weeks working in a team with other young adults to set up an initiative, gaining experience and transferable skills in the process.

During this programme you will be guided through the basics of setting up a social enterprise, putting what you learn into practice. Your team will build a community around an idea, carry out research and design a business model based on this research. During the final part of the programme, you will be supported to create and carry out a project plan, turning the ideas into reality.

Other things you will have the opportunity to learn include fundraising, facilitation, giving presentations and organising events.

This programme begins on the 9th of March and runs for 10 weeks till the 14th of May. Attendees are expected to be at Edventure:Frome Mondays - Thursdays, 9.15 -2.45 pm. If you live elsewhere and want to attend, we can help to connect you to local people with spare rooms.

We will announce more project details late January but every Start - Up project is chosen carefully to provide a rich learning experience. In the past, project that our teams have set up include 'SHARE - A library of things', A food waste fridge and The 'Remakery:Frome' a community workshop space.

If you are interested in this programme, please apply and sign up for an interview either in person in Frome or online via Skype or Whats app video. https://edventurefrome.org/courses/start-up/
