As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for supporting older people, their families and carers through our duty service with their welfare benefits and housing and other issues relating to financial hardship in later life.
You should have a good level of knowledge of welfare benefits, social care and housing as well as experience of working within a high-volume advice service, ideally a telephone-based service.

What you will do:

Summary of role: Our Green Doctors deliver home visits and telephone consultations across Kent & Medway. Consultations are a mix of advice, installation of small practical energy-saving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draft proofing and referring on to other health and wellbeing services. We aim to reduce our client’s energy bills and save them money in a variety of ways including providing a bill switching service.
You will be a practical, people-person with a passion for helping vulnerable people. You must have either knowledge or experience in energy efficiency to provide tailored energy saving advice, and the ability to adapt your approach to suit our client’s varying needs.
You must be comfortable with lone working and in managing your own workload.
A qualification as Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), NVQ Level 3 (6049-03) Provide Energy Efficiency Services, or City and Guilds Energy Awareness (6281-01) is desirable, but relevant experience within the field or a willingness to take the qualification will be considered. (20 paid study hours).
A full clean driving licence is required.

About the role:
As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe.
- Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
- Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
- Supporting the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.

- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

The Role

The Role
As a Senior Triage Officer - Children and Young people’s Service, you will be:

About the role:
We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work alongside mental health team in Bedfordshire. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 5th July 2025. This is a key role working alongside the ELFT team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

You will need:

- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
