We are expanding our team, and this new role is a great opportunity to join a growing and ambitious charity at an exciting time with our new SQL data warehouse (a developing infrastructure) and a busy programme of data development.
This Data Analyst role is pivotal in our drive to be an organisation that makes evidence-based decisions. Using data insight to improve our fundraising and engagement initiatives, supporting our marketing, campaigning, and services planning. You will help us to deepen engagement and enhance the experience our audiences have with us.
You will work on delivering accurate and high-quality analysis and reporting which meets stakeholder expectations and makes an impact, contributing to Pancreatic Cancer UK’s mission. This will involve developing analysis of income generation performance, audience interactions and delivering insights to underpin and inform the direction of our engagement strategy across the charity.
About You
· You are a motivated to support the development and optimisation of data infrastructure and reporting across the organisation.
· You excel in analysing data to derive valuable insights and support decision-making processes. Your expertise lies in interpreting data using tools such as Power BI and Fast stats to analyse and communicate insights.
· Effective communication is key this role, as you will manage relationships with teams throughout the charity to drive data engineering projects.
· You can utilise tools for designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring the delivery of efficient dashboards, reporting and analysis to stakeholders.

The Role
To help us fulfill our mission, we seek Grants Officers, who will oversee complex strategic grantmaking activity, triage, monitoring and compliance, and clearance of conflicts of interest, sanctions, and data privacy. They will also support with managing urgent leadership directed grants where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
As Grants Officer, you will report to the Associate Director, Grants Management and be responsible for:
- Contributing to annual planning for US-based entities, forecasting resource allocation needs throughout the year.
- Leading grant closeout procedures, overseeing the collection of overdue reports for all grants funded by US-based entities, conducting FPR, OSI, OSPC processes. Manage the completion of the Grant Closure Project, identifying obstacles to report collection and establishing standard procedures for closing grants, including those for US-based funded programmatic units.
- Coordinating with Finance, Accounting & Compliance teams for audits of Open Society's US-based entities, as well as the preparation of annual tax filings and financial statements.

- Providing comprehensive education and training on grant award compliance, grantmaking processes, Foundation Connect, GrantSmith, and Analytics Studio within the department and to colleagues across Open Society.
- Serving as a resource for Grants Assistants and other Grants Management colleagues, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Assisting in Grants Management processes related to equivalency determination, expenditure responsibility, OFAC compliance, COI compliance, and data privacy.

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is the professional body for speech and language therapists in the United Kingdom (UK). We support and represent over 22,000 members while operating nationally across our offices in London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
Our mission is to improve the lives of people with communication and swallowing needs by facilitating and promoting research, producing guidance, holding events, and influencing government. We aim to promote better education and training for speech and language therapists (SLTs) and provide information to our members and the public about speech and language therapy.

As our new Data Analyst, you will be a key partner for different RCSLT teams working on a wide range of projects, from analysing data about the speech and language therapy workforce, about students and help us understand the impact that SLTs make in their work.
You will help build the data capabilities of the whole organisation using tools that bring data to our members while using critical evaluation to bring depth of understanding about the profession.

Purpose of Role
We are looking for an insightful and pro-active Data Analyst. This role is based within our Income and Marketing Department, reporting to the Head of Membership and working closely with our IT team.
You will lead the delivery of the Ramblers’ supporter selections, design and implement data solutions to drive supporter engagement and increase efficiencies and deliver data insights to staff members and volunteers about our audiences. We are looking for someone with experience in Python, SQL and Tableau.

The role
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making. Ensure data is relevant, accurate, and accessible by creating, maintaining, and promoting dashboards (through Tableau) for staff and volunteers.
- Lead on developing and improving new processes and automations to save organisational time and increase supporter engagement. This will include marketing automations such as welcome journeys for members.
- Deliver data selections in a timely manner, utilising insights to improve response, and where appropriate segmenting data. Support teams in developing testing plans to improve future outcomes and provide data insights following the campaigns and recommendations for future.
- Create and maintain processes allowing for self-service of simple or regularly scheduled selections by staff members (currently accessed through Tableau).
- Share responsibility for data imports within the organisation. Provide support as appropriate to the IT team to ensure information flows between our systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Mail Chimp etc) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Income and Marketing Department to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation forecasting and increasing supporter engagement.
- Maintain accurate supporter information in an accessible and secure way through IT systems such as the CRM and Data Warehouse in accordance with data and charity legislation.
This role works within the Income and Marketing Department, and the majority of the work is focused on supporting this Department. The post holder however would be providing support across the organisation and would work very closely with our IT team.
To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.
The person
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Familiarity with a general-purpose programming language ideally Python (majority of processes currently built in Python)
- Experience using Tableau
- Knowledge and experience of SQL
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical terms and process in an appropriate way for a variety of audiences
- First-class data analytical skills, including experience using segmentation modelling and analysing results for direct marketing.
Desirable:
- Experience working with data in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience in using a marketing automation tool such as Mailchimp and or Marketing Cloud
- Interest in walking and/or being an advocate for the outdoors and natural environment.
- Experience of working with Salesforce (ideally NFP) or similar CRM
- Experience in data warehousing (such as Azure Data Factory).

The Application Support Analyst (internally known as our Solutions Analyst) in our Services Data team will play a vital role in ensuring our services data systems, data processes and other technical developments are robust, fit for purpose, and supportable.
