The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.

The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.

You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. You will be empathic with strong active listening skills, able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in your communication with trauma-affected individuals.  You will be adept at identifying individual’s support needs and have strong social/communication skills enabling you to facilitate appropriate and meaningful peer support matches. Deliverables

Provide assistance to the Development team

• Assist with the production of the quarterly supporter newsletter; making data selections, writing/proofing copy, and liaising with suppliers

The role: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with a passion for our mission, who will build positive relationships to secure significant income, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all.

This is a new role, leading our small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. • You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience in operations management, preferably within the charity sector.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers. 

• To attend weekly team meetings 

• To assist in research into new areas of operation for the charity. 

• To oversee orders of equipment and printed resources to our partners with various suppliers around the country.

• To maintain meticulous records regarding our growing national Cleanup Hub network of community partners. 

• To collate statistics and create regular reports of programme activity, using our website and new database. 

• To provide help and advice to enquiries that come through our information email inbox. This could include; helping people access their profiles on our website or advising them as to how to get involved in community litter picking activity.

• To use Mail Chimp to send mailers to our partners and followers. 

• Database Management, to take a pro-active role in our upcoming database development project, considering how best to structure, store and export data. Following the launch of the database lead on database development and maintenance, such as an annual data cleanse.

• To assist with setting up, maintaining and updating database information, Community Cleanup Hub registrations, profiles and filing systems, ensuring that data handling complies with GDPR requirements.

Chief Executive: leads our strategic direction / reports to the Trustees 

• To organise board meetings; booking diary dates, venues, catering and taking minutes.

• Stay abreast of industry changes and competitive landscape to adjust strategies accordingly.

Education and Training

• Experience and formal training in a recognised Sales Methodology e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Sandler
• BA Hons (desirable)

Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge

• Substantial proven experience in business development, b2b sales, or a similar role, in the service and/or not for profit sector
• Track record of securing seven-figure contracts.
• Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Proven experience of cultivating and sustaining strong partner relationships in a range of settings.
• Understanding of market drivers in the EAP/staff benefits sector.

Terms of Appointment

• Permanent position
• Full time, 35 hours per week (some evening/weekend work may be required)

Based within the Development Team you will look to identify funding opportunities to secure funds to ensure the Hospice successfully achieves its objectives and development plan. With experience of writing bid writing, trust applications and reporting you will have excellent attention to detail and effectively manage deadlines.
