As CFG's Policy Officer you will make an impactful contribution to CFG's policy and advocacy work. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including policy-makers, charity members and corporate partners, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Policy Team's work and effectiveness. You will be comfortable using your research and analytical skills to ensure CFG remains at the forefront of its advocacy work on behalf of its members and the wider sector. CFG promotes remote-first working, although we do have office space at our registered address in Southwark, SE London for those team members who prefer an office setting. The NI is looking for its next Events Officer to oversee the setting up and online booking of a range of events – mainly conferences and dinners – as well as overseeing the subscriptions to its Journal. The role is a busy one and the person recruited with require good experience with events booking CRMs as well as working with volunteers and other team members in a small team.
Responsibilities
Main duties include:
Manage all event bookings administration, including:
o Set up of online booking for events through CRM
o Set up and maintain webpages for each event through CMS adding sponsor logos and additional information as required.
o Ensuring invoices for events are issued and paid, updating any on CRM that were issued manually including sponsorship events
o Ensuring relevant communications such as joining instructions are circulated to attendees
o Issue sponsorship contracts, invoices and monitor payments of same
o Providing support for delivery of events including producing delegate lists, dietary requirements etc
o Liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure all events run smoothly.

To support the planning and organisation of events such as workshops, webinars and conferences to showcase Teacher Development Trust's offerings and coordinate TDT presence at external events. This will include representing the organisation at events to network and promote our services.

To work closely with the internal teams, including the content development and participant experience teams, to ensure seamless service delivery, satisfaction, retention and brand loyalty. You will also collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to explore potential synergies and business opportunities.

To support the wider interaction between the organisation and the sector, in particular supporting carefully planned and considered marketing and communications activity as well as responding to emerging news stories and other agendas. Where appropriate this may include working with journalists and other key sector influencers.
Experience, qualities and skills:

Proven experience in marketing roles either within the education sector or elsewhere.

Knowledge of the current educational landscape, including an understanding of professional development or a genuine interest in developing that knowledge.

An active interest in continuously developing both generalist and technical marketing expertise.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present information clearly, striking the correct tone with a range of internal and external audiences.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (Salesforce, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Asana, Divi, Wordpress) would be an advantage but not essential - the appetite to learn is essential.

About this job
This is a brilliant opportunity to join our hardworking, creative and supportive MS Cymru team.
You’ll be communicating with both Welsh- and English-speaking audiences, and you must be a fluent Welsh speaker.
We’re looking for a tenacious, proactive Press and Communications Officer to join our team and help us meet our ambitious goals.
Crucially, you’ll promote and deliver media coverage/strategies to promote our work with a particular emphasis on promoting our fundraising, campaigning and service activity.
You’ll also be our point of contact for media enquiries we receive. And you’ll support the development and delivery of our digital communications, ensuring we have a strong and representative social media presence.
The chosen candidate will have relevant experience (such as a press office, PR agency or journalism), and be comfortable managing competing priorities as part of a busy team. You’ll have excellent writing and communications skills in Welsh and English, and a positive attitude.
