We are looking for a Policy Officer within our Service Delivery Team. You will have demonstrable understanding of health and social care policy and related public policy developments in the UK, as well as an understanding of how policy decisions are influenced and made. You will have knowledge and experience of research and analysis relevant to health policy, as well as familiarity with and understanding of the core principles of both quantitative and qualitative research.

Salary: £40,708 - £43,615 per annum

Location: Oxford / hybrid working (up to full time from home, in line with Picker's remote and home working policy - must be based in the UK)

In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Picker's policy influencing strategy to make person centred health and social care a reality for everyone. You will be responsible for monitoring policy and political developments, promoting evidence-based policies to advanced person centred care and building and maintaining relationships within the health policy world. You will leave on the development of policy outputs including briefings, position statements and white papers, working with colleagues to build evidence and articulate Picker's messages.

This role

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain a good understanding of key health and social care policy and political developments
• Lead on or assist with a range of high-profile policy projects, including the planning and development of projects, and contributing to analysis, writing and publication.
• Identifying opportunities to contribute to public policy debates in health and social care, using evidence from Picker’s work and from the public domain to provide insightful thought leadership.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support policy analysis, responsive policy work, and to enhance Picker’s external profile across various audiences.
• Lead on and assist with written outputs, such as topic-specific briefing papers, website copy, presentations and blog posts to communicate the findings of our work.
• Carry out literature reviews and rapid scans of data and evidence to scope public policy positions on a range of key issues.
• Present evidence and findings (both in writing and orally) about highly complex and sometimes contentious subjects to a wide range of audiences, ensuring an understanding of the subject and issues arising and enabling informed decision making
• Support the drafting of responses to consultations, policy briefings, and other public policy initiatives, including relevant third party publications.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and collaborators relevant to our policy portfolio, including academic and health and social care policy communities.
• Work collaboratively with other teams, creating strong links between other programmes and projects, to promote the use of services, products and survey findings that improve the quality of healthcare.

As our Senior Operations Officer, working closely with the Head of Operations, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our organisational operations. The remit of the role covers a wide range of functions including senior officer responsibility for ICT systems, office management, building management, and also contributing to Quartet’s strategy in response to carbon reductions and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Over the next two years, GWEC expects to rapidly scale up the number and size of the grants that we are managing globally. The post-holder will play a pivotal role in securing new grants, and building the capacity of the global staff team to effectively manage the grants once secured. Headline overview of responsibilities: 

- Grant identification and pipeline management: Conduct research to identify potential grant funding opportunities. Conduct research and analysis on the reporting and financial requirements of prospective donors. Maintain the funding pipeline/ grant management database

- Grant application oversight: Manage the end-to-end grant application process for new grants.

- Budget and financial management: Collaborate with the project and finance teams to develop project budgets. Monitor spending against grants in relation to activities delivered. Ensure Project Leads receive monthly spend updates. Ensure donor budgets are utilised as directed, financial reporting is on-track, and any alterations are communicated internally and externally. Support Project Leads to re-forecast budgets.

- Grant compliance: Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Ensure that the project delivery team is inducted on contractual obligations, and provide support and advice regarding adherence to contracts throughout the grant period. Support on grant management documentation, including quality assuring processes. Support the project delivery teams in the preparation and submission of donor reports, through until grant close-out.

- Grant Performance Management: Ensure that all grant management tools are set up with each grant’s inception period. Coordinate quarterly grant oversight meetings, and hold project delivery teams to account for delivery of projects. Ensure GWEC fulfils its obligations to donors as per grant contracts. Support the finance team to liaise with auditors throughout audits.

- Knowledge sharing: Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant funding and statutory funding. Share technical advice, grant specific guidance and project management best practices and tools. Contribute to GWECs grant-related systems, policies, processes, and guidelines.

- Strategy delivery: Support the Grants Director in the delivery of the fundraising strategy, including assuming responsibility for the delivery of identified tasks within the team’s annual work plan. Engage in regular monitoring of progress against the work plan.

Essentia Person Criteria:

• Right to work in UK or Portugal

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• University Degree (BA or Bsc)

• 3 or more years relevant  experience, in either a non-profit organisation or a grant making organisation

• Be diligently compliance-driven to ensure organisational adherence to grant-maker requirements, and local laws and regulations

• Commitment to the work and mission of GWEC and the clean energy transition 

• Proven ability to build good working relationships with finance and non-finance staff

• Strong analytic skills and problem-solving abilities.

About the role:

In October 2023, the organisation began delivery of Year 1 of their West Midlands based Environmental Leadership Programme in partnership with the Shropshire Wildlife Trust. The role of the Participant Support and Delivery Officer is to work closely with the programmes delivery team across the partnership on the different stages of programme recruitment, delivery and implementation – all to ensure that participants have an excellent experience with us.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of Year 2 participants in the run-up to the programme starting in October 2024 and provide a friendly point of introduction for participants onto the programme. This will include travelling to support the delivery of in-person taster and recruitment activities.

Head of Project Delivery 

High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and Hybrid Working (minimum two days office)

Our client's vision is to build new affordable homes to help more people who cannot otherwise buy or rent on the open market.  The Development Directorate has a programme of between 400 and 500 homes a year with S106, land-led, package deals and joint venture projects. They are looking for a Head of Project Delivery who will be instrumental in helping them achieve this delivery and their wider vision.

It’s an exciting time to join them, on the back of a busy 2024 / 2025 where the Delivery Team managed the completion of over 520 homes. The new postholder will build on this success, motivating the Delivery Team to successfully manage current and future projects.

Reporting into the Assistant Director of Development Delivery, and playing a key part in the Development Leadership Team, this role currently directly manages a team of six, whilst working closely alongside colleagues throughout the Development Directorate and the wider business.

Hope for the Future is a climate change charity that trains communities, groups and individuals to work with politicians on climate change. Our vision is to see politicians of all political persuasions joining together with each other and with communities across the UK to drive inclusive action on the climate and nature crises.

We operate nationally at a grassroots level, linking constituents with their elected representatives, running training and holding events.

We are currently seeking a Director of Delivery to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

You will have specific responsibility for:

• Growing HFTF’s impact, leading and overseeing the delivery of HFTF’s delivery projects and programmes and working with staff to ensure delivery targets are met

• Effective line management of the Policy & Engagement Officers, leading, supporting, managing and motivating staff,

• Supporting the Policy and Engagement team with work as required 

• Developing and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation and impact measurement for fundraising bids and reports to funders.

• Acting as the lead contact for Hope for the Future’s network of partner organisations growing  HFTF’s paid partnership work

• Ensuring that we are engaging new constituents and that we are working towards reaching and representing all sectors of society.

Other responsibilities

• Regularly travel around the country to workshops and meetings and to the head office in Sheffield.

• Networking to seek new partners and clients for the purpose of acquiring new training requests and potential collaborative work (paid partnerships)

• Representing the organisation at events,conferences, and partnership meetings and in external communications

• Continually championing the values, mission and vision of Hope for the Future to strengthen democratic engagement and drive inclusive action on the climate and nature crises.

• Maintain an awareness of advances in the climate and nature movement and national/ local politics.

• Maintain a strong working knowledge of climate change developments in Parliament, including changes to policy and specific MP involvement in such developments.

The ideal candidate will have

• Excellent organisational , prioritisation  and communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills across a range of professional and community settings

• Strong IT skills, understanding of digital communications, analysis of data and creating reports.

• Strong multidisciplinary project, programme and resource management skills with the ability to ensure delivery targets are achieved.

• Minimum 2 - 3 years in a management, leadership or operational delivery role within a not-for-profit, NGO, social enterprise, charity or similar organisation.

• Experience and success in leading, supporting, motivating and managing and coordinating a team  to work towards delivering an organisation's strategic goals

• Experience in building and maintaining effective partnerships and networks with external organisations.

• A strong working knowledge of the UK political system and with national and local political structures and processes

• Experience of working with elected representatives 

• Experience of delivering, monitoring and evaluating effective community engagement campaigns / outreach work

• Experience of designing and facilitating workshops, trainings, both online and in-person 

• An understanding of monitoring and evaluation and impact measurement 

• Ability to seamlessly operate at a strategic and tactical level, leading by example and rolling up sleeves when necessary

For more than 50 years, the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential. The BDA is established as the leading dyslexia charity in the UK.

Unfortunately, the need for our support and services is high. Although awareness of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties has grown, there are ongoing and widening gaps in access to the identification of dyslexia and the provision of expert learning support. Our national Helpline is busier than ever, supporting almost 5,500 people each year, reminding us on a daily basis why we must keep fighting for the rights of our beneficiaries.

Against a challenging backdrop for so many organisations, last financial year we saw continued growth in income from fundraising and training. We invested in growing our team and identified five strategic objectives for the period 2023-2026, and activities are currently underway to deliver these priorities. Our next CEO will continue to oversee these whilst laying the foundations for our next strategy cycle which we intend to publish in 2026. We are looking for a Chief Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity as well as working with the Trustees to take the organisation forwards.  The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, will have skills in finance, management and IT, and will enjoy working in a busy environment where there are changing demands and priorities throughout the day.

At Oak Tree Farm we are committed to providing a high quality, supportive environment where adults with learning disabilities, our Team Members, are the centre of everything we do.  The farm has livestock, growing fields, greenhouses, polytunnels and a tearoom as well as craft rooms, a cottage garden, pottery and shop. Our Team Members are involved in every aspect of life on the farm and the farm is firmly embedded in the local community with Team Members providing gardening services to local people as well as volunteering on the Sandon Estate.

Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. We are looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this programme, as well as becoming an advocate for Higher Technical Qualifications more broadly. 

This role sits within the small Higher Education Team at Gatsby, and you will work closely with the Project Manager and Director of Programmes to: develop and deliver a range of projects to support our programme objectives; represent Gatsby at external meetings; organise meetings and events; and develop strong working relationships with key partners.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects to support Gatsby’s Higher Technical Education programme, with clear objectives and planning, delivering outputs on time and within budget.
• Research, create and write compelling communications that support programme objectives.
• Co-ordinate regular meetings and external events, including drafting agendas, writing minutes, liaising with and organising contributions from external stakeholders.
• Work effectively with other Gatsby programme teams to ensure higher technical education is appropriately represented within their areas of focus.
• Commission consultants/researchers to undertake pieces of work that will inform programme direction.
• Undertake project evaluations to measure success, analysing outputs/feedback and making informed recommendations to improve activity.
• Manage the National Network of Institutes of Technology website and LinkedIn pages, ensuring they remain a compelling national presence with engaging and relevant content.
• Provide administrative and budget support for beneficiary grants and contracts.
• Create and maintain data and contact information relevant to the Institutes of Technology and other key stakeholders in higher technical education.
• Maintain a secure understanding of all high-level Gatsby policy positions and able to communicate them effectively in written form and verbally.

Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict and, endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

Summary of the role:

The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Senior HR Business Partner and the wider People and Culture team in the delivery of HR services. The role will focus on a range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, aspects of payroll, L&D, travel logistics and other generalist HR duties. A key part of the role will be to provide support in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet all Muslim Aid’s staffing needs.

1. Ensure a smooth, efficient and welcoming onboarding and probation process for new employees.  
2. Facilitate the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers in meeting departmental needs. Responsibilities include crafting job descriptions, posting ads, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
3. Provide advice and guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures.
4. Prepare payroll amendment sheets for UK and International staff.
5. Assist with performance management processes and employee relations issues.
6. Support HR analytics requirements to track performance metrics.

To be successful in this role you will need:

1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in a generalist HR role, in particular recruitment and employee relations.

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.
