Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Life Project in 2021 at its next stage of growth as an  excellent provider of services for those with learning disabilities in Bath and surrounding areas, and we are looking to appoint an outstanding individual to this leadership role of Chief Executive.

The successful candidate will have the drive, enthusiasm, passion and ability to help realise the significant ambition of this Christian charity. Working with the Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers, the job-holder will further develop and implement our strategic goals to become a robust and sustainable organisation. It encompasses developing new income streams and hands on management of all organisational and operational functions.

Are you an experienced leader who has genuine commitment to, and sympathy with, the charity’s vision, mission and strategic objectives?  You must be able to:

  • Demonstrate leadership, management and organisational skills, displaying fairness and impartiality, welcoming people in all their diversity.
  • Work closely with the Chair, Trustees, staff and volunteers in building positive working relationships, acknowledging the contribution of others and building the team to ensure good performance and demonstration of best working practices.
  • Be strategic in your thinking and delivery.
  • Influence stakeholders positively in order to achieve results that are in the best interest of The Life Project (Bath).

The Life Project is a charity founded on Christian principles and this ethos permeates all the work within this role. In this respect being an active Christian is a Genuine Occupational Requirement of the job as per the terms of the Equality Act 2010.

Further details and how to apply

Full details about this role, its responsibilities, a person specification and how to apply are outlined in the Job Application Pack available when you click 'Apply on website'.

The Life Project was founded by a group of Christian families who wished to provide support, fellowship, meaningful activities and potential accommodation for their young adults with learning disabilities. We now run a variety of projects for those with learning disabilities and their families and carers and we would welcome opportunities to share with your own church family how we accomplish this in a Christian context.
