FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups.

The role

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to support our CEO and COO. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention for details. This person should have experience working with colleagues at a senior level, in an office environment, performing a range of administrative duties. Given the dynamic nature of the executive landscape, we will rely on the executive assistant to be flexible and consistent while maintaining the confidentiality of high-level systems and operations.

Objectives of this role

• Support the CEO/COO primarily to ensure the smooth and efficient running of FareShare operations.
• Manage communication and contacts with external stakeholders including network and industry partners and board of trustees.

Main areas of responsibility  

• Scheduling and calendar management, as well as content and flow of information to the leadership team, board of trustees and other external stakeholders
• Inbox management including responding to and redirecting emails and other correspondence as directed.
• Liaise with leadership team and other key colleagues across the organisation.
• Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support the CEO/COO with travel and accommodation arrangements.
• Maintain professionalism and strict discretion and confidentiality.
• Organise and plan events, both internal and off-site on behalf of the CEO/COO
• To undertake any other tasks that would be deemed suitable within this role as directed by line management.

Experience and qualifications.

Essential

• Experience of working as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or similar role; or experience in an administrative role reporting directly to upper management

• Strong time-management skills and an ability to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent knowledge and proficiency with MS Office tools and an aptitude for learning new software and systems.

As our Fundraising Executive - Direct Engagement you will play a pivotal role in our fundraising strategy. You will support our Direct Engagement Managers, to lead multi-channel campaigns, focusing on both Face to Face and Telemarketing initiatives. With an 80% allocation to Face to Face and 20% to Telemarketing, you will be at the forefront of our growth trajectory.

 In this role, you will:

• Assist the Direct Engagement Managers in crafting compelling campaigns to drive donor acquisition and income targets.
• Seamlessly navigate between Face to Face and Telemarketing activities, ensuring campaign cohesion.
• Coordinate the delivery of fundraising materials across various acquisition channels.
• Maintain meticulous records of campaign activities, generating insightful reports for performance evaluation.
• Champion supporter insight and data analysis, driving continuous improvement in acquisition outputs.
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with legislation and best practices, maintaining our fundraising compliance program.

 To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Proficiency in fundraising regulations, with a knack for resolving day-to-day issues.
• Strong project management abilities, delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Experience in acquiring new donors through external fulfilment agencies.
• Expertise in monitoring and analysing campaign targets, results, and KPIs.

Director of Impact & Development – The Solicitors’ Charity

We’re looking for a Director of Impact & Development to develop and implement income generation and communication strategies and to develop strategy and practice around impact measurement and client feedback collection. The Solicitor’s Charity is the independent charity that, since 1858, has been supporting solicitors and their dependants in times of need or crisis.

Salary: c£66,000 - c£70,500(rising to c£67,250 - c£71,750 after successful completion of 6-month probationary period). The point on these salary ranges at which you will be paid is currently dependent on your location.

Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings, largely in central London (6-8 per year). Most staff work from home, though we also have an office in southwest London.

The Director of Impact and Development role

 We have recently agreed our strategy for 2024-2026. Two key objectives for this period are to grow and diversify our funding streams and to increase awareness of the charity.  We are also keen to understand better the impact that our activities have on our clients so that we can ensure that we are doing well the things they need to support them and so that we have stories to tell to help with fundraising and communications. Finally, we are keen to engage members of the profession in spreading the word about our work, including through a volunteer ambassadors’ scheme.

As holder of this senior role you will lead in these areas, developing and implementing effective strategies ad processes. You will work initially with our existing communications agency and with fundraising consultants but by the end of the year will need to have formed a view and put in place plans that either continue with these arrangements or bring more work in house.

Success in the role will be shown by significantly more income coming from sources other than our investments and donations of unclaimed client balances by law firms; by more people knowing about, supporting, and approaching the charity for help; and by us understanding better what works to help our clients and using this knowledge to promote development of the charity.

We’re looking for someone with at least 10 years’ experience in leading change in organisations (as an employee and/or a consultant) and evaluating organisational impact through metrics, feedback and benchmarking. At least 10 years’ experience in leading a marketing, communications and/or a fundraising function with proven experience in leading the development and implementation of marketing, fundraising and communications strategies and implementation plans in a similarly sized and geared organisation. You will also have a track record in developing organisational design, targets, operating models and business modelling in the charities and not-for-profit sector.

Other key demonstrable skills and experience include:

· Strong interpersonal and partnership skills, able to influence and work with a range of stakeholders at all levels, within and outside of the organisation.

· Ability to lead and motivate others and create strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

· Strategic thinker, able to see the big picture, recognise long-lasting, high impact decisions and implement clear operational delivery plans

· Strong analytical skills to be able to provide analysis of financial information (and other data) and oversight.

· Ability to present ideas, concepts, plans, and policies at Board level (and to a range of individuals, including senior external contacts) clearly and persuasively.

· Experience of working in a flatter organisational structure where levels of resource mean being willing and able to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.

Chief Executive Officer, Remote, 35 hrs Salary £90,097

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.

As CEO, you'll support us through a new stage in our development. We're operating in a fluid political environment and so our new leader needs to be confident to work in a political setting while also having the skills and experience to run an organisation like ours.

You'll take ultimate responsibility for our campaign to achieve Proportional Representation in the House of Commons. You will:

• as leader of the campaign, be primarily responsible for building the popular and political momentum needed to secure this seismic reform;

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Challenge Events Team, helping to coordinate a portfolio of third-party challenge events that drive participation and income for Dementia UK.

As the Challenge Events Executive you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of all challenge events within your portfolio. These events include Great North Run, London Landmarks Half Marathon and some international marathons.

Utilising project management tools and strategies, you’ll meticulously plan, organise, and deliver each event while driving targeted marketing campaigns, with a particular emphasis on email and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in co-ordinating successful fundraising events or campaigns. You should possess hands-on experience utilising relationship databases, coupled with an understanding of effective marketing channels, particularly digital. Additionally, expertise in stewardship techniques is crucial for optimising remittance rates and maximising average gifts. You should also have an understanding of how to use insight, data and market trends to identify opportunities and make recommendations.

The Biochemical Society and its wholly owned publishing subsidiary Portland Press Ltd (PPL) are seeking an experienced and influential leader to join us as our new Chief Executive, from January 2025 on the retirement of the current postholder Kate Baillie. You will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering a new strategy to increase our income, partnership, and growth potential.

The Biochemical Society was founded in 1911 and currently has around 5,000 members. It is a learned society that is at the forefront of advancing molecular bioscience, promoting its importance as a discipline, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and expertise, and supporting molecular bioscientists across all career stages.

We are looking for a Chief Executive who can continue to grow our profile and positive reputation. To us, this means continuing our excellent work with our trustees, staff, community and stakeholders, enhancing our growth and building new partnerships.

Since its establishment in 1929, it has been a place of solace and connection, remaining a vital part of the borough to this day. Their flagship site is renowned for its role as a local leader, offering a range of amenities such as the Street Kitchen café, Social Supermarket, diverse activities, preschool, and church gatherings, attracting hundreds of visitors weekly.

KHCCC are embarking on an exciting chapter, creating the new role of Director of Development (Children and Families). With their Christian values driving transformation, this role is pivotal. KHCCC are seeking an innovative leader to join their executive leadership team and help steer change.

This opportunity will involve leading the transformation of their established Pre-school into a thriving year-round nursery. Furthermore, it includes launching a new childcare service at their second church site, enriching family and children's initiatives, and strengthening ties with borough leaders and funding bodies. This role will be instrumental in establishing connections between KHCCC and other services, enabling the comprehensive development in a unified approach.

• Collaborate with the National Partnerships Director, Service Delivery Director, National Contracts Manager, Digital Services Manager, and other key colleagues to ensure the smooth implementation of new contracts.
• Deputise for the National Partnerships Director at Executive Leadership meetings
• Represent Relate at a range of events to promote the brand and the service offer.
• Contribute to annual budget and strategic planning cycles.
• Stay abreast of industry changes and competitive landscape to adjust strategies accordingly.

Education and Training

• Experience and formal training in a recognised Sales Methodology e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Sandler
• BA Hons (desirable)

Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge

• Substantial proven experience in business development, b2b sales, or a similar role, in the service and/or not for profit sector
• Track record of securing seven-figure contracts.
• Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Proven experience of cultivating and sustaining strong partner relationships in a range of settings.
• Understanding of market drivers in the EAP/staff benefits sector.
• Strong track record of achieving or exceeding income targets.
