About the role
Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning.
We’re looking for someone who can support the team to develop, co-create, train and deliver inclusive and exciting learning that encourages creativity, curiosity and critical thinking in the areas of philanthropy and grant making. Your role will be diverse and a blend of project work, event management and administration. You will be involved in organising conferences, meetings, hosting webinars, managing specific areas of work and building relationships.
Our members vary from very small teams with two or three staff to well established very well resourced foundations. The Membership and Learning team are the contact point for all CFs: answering members’ enquiries, championing best practice and raising standards.
Working closely with other teams including Communications, Business Development and Programmes, the Membership and Learning team has an oversight of all UKCF activity relating to our members. About the role

What’s the role?
As a Governance Officer, you will be able to provide a highly organised and effective governance and administrative service to our internal customers and the Board as well as working collaboratively with other teams in the business and act as the main point of contact for the Governance team.
The right candidate will need to:
- Provide administrative support to our Executive Management Team, Board, Committee and Group entities.

The Role
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy for SafeLives. You will work closely with the Head of Communications and Marketing, who will set the overall direction for our work to build brand credibility, communicate our Whole Picture strategy and market our products and services. You will also line manage the Communications Officer.
Your role will be instrumental in shaping stakeholder perception, raising awareness and securing support, making our key messages compelling and our content engaging, helping us visibly shift the conversation and drive real change in the UK’s domestic abuse response.
You will support the development and implementation of our brand, and you’ll take ownership of our digital channels and work with the Head of Team to develop our digital strategy and annual plan.
You’ll lead marketing campaigns planning for key areas of work, including our practice and training offers, helping to bring together robust data, the voice of survivors, and the view of practice experts to position SafeLives at the centre of the conversation with key decision makers and influencers.

Key duties and responsibilities
The post holder will:
provide a specialist design service to all Mind teams. This includes designing and artworking content across a range of formats (both print and digital), from printed marketing materials and policy reports to digital assets and branded collateral for events. A key aspect of this will be ensuring that all design work is a strong expression of our brand, of high quality, and optimised/correctly exported for the format in which it will be used. While this role will predominantly involve hands-on graphic design work, you may also be required to support with commissioning and managing freelance designers or agencies where appropriate.
In addition to providing specialist design expertise, you will also collaborate with the wider content teams to generate powerful concepts for content and campaigns.

Job Title: Events and Communications Officer
Responsible to: CEO
Location: Remote, with requirement for in-person attendance at some meetings and events during the year (travel expenses covered)
Hours: 14 hours per week across a minimum of 2 days per week (flexible days, to be agreed with successful candidate) with occasional out of hours working required (e.g. our annual summer residential camp and twice-yearly family weekend events, with TOIL for out of hours working)

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Events:
As Events and Communications Officer, a significant part of your role will be assisting in the design and delivery of our virtual and in-person events. These include:
o Regular (monthly) virtual events
o Twice-yearly family in-person events (usually a Saturday in April and in September or October)
o Annual residential camp for 11-25yr olds ( a 5-night residential held in July or August)
Some of the aspects you will lead on include:
o Communicating with our community and other stakeholders, such as venues and volunteers, pre- and post-event.
o Creating promotional and other event materials.
o Registration and organisation of the people involved in the event.
o Coordinating logistics before, during and after events.
Having worked so hard making sure that the event runs successfully, you will of course also be a vital part of the team helping to deliver the in-person events, which is an absolute joy!
Communications
You will assist in the design and delivery of our communications strategy. This will include:
o Determining how best to communicate with our families, including the children and young people, to ensure that we provide the support and services they need.
o Determining how best to communicate with our collaborators, including other organisations, funders and professionals in the sector, in order to continue and improve our offer.
o Managing the day-to-day delivery of our social media, emails, website, promotional materials and media archives.
o Keeping our CRM updated and proactively communicating with our stakeholders.
o Supporting our Governance Team with scheduling and meeting arrangements.
o Monitoring the impact of our events and engagement, using insight gained to identify unmet needs, and work as a team to create a plan to address these needs.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential:
o Computer literate and confident using MS Office software.
o An excellent knowledge of different social media platforms and the types of content required to drive engagement.
o Experience of website/CMS systems.
o Understanding of printed promotional material.
o Good standard of written English and Maths (GCSE grade 5 or above).
o Good understanding and/or experience of implementing communication strategies appropriate for different audiences.
