Every month, the YoungMinds website provides thousands of young people with vital support and advice for their mental health. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Content Designer to play a key role in leading the design and delivery of the content on our website.

You will lead in delivering content for the Never Alone programme, which seeks to provide support for young people on a range of feelings, life experiences, conditions and mental health medications. Along with the digital communications team and the Digital Content Officers you line manage, you will design or commission content in various mediums such as written content, illustrations, graphics, video and audio.

You will conduct user research and insight sessions with young people to design the website content strategy, ensuring the content on our website meets young people’s needs and covers relevant topics and experiences.

You will also be responsible for the YoungMinds blog, ensuring the blog continues to be a valuable space of real stories and support with content that showcases a variety of experiences and backgrounds. As part of this, you will lead on our Writers Programme, where you will recruit young people from minoritised groups and run a year-long programme of workshops to help develop them as writers and editors.

Using your digital expertise and strategic thinking, you will work with colleagues across YoungMinds to create content for the website that helps support their team’s aims and objectives. This will include our content for young people and professionals as part of our Someone To Turn To programme, as well as content for our Powerful Young Voices programme. You will also work closely with the Product Manager for the website to deliver the website roadmap and strategy, and ensure the website is meeting it’s aims and goals as a digital product.

The successful candidate will:

• have experience of designing, developing and building website content that meets user needs and is in line with our brand’s tone of voice
• have experience of using user insight to inform and develop digital content
• be able to upload content to a CMS (content management system) and create engaging webpages with good user experience that are search engine optimised
• be able to create digital content for minoritised and racialised groups of young people and practise cultural humility
• be able to conduct user insight sessions with key stakeholders and users, to listen to their experiences and identify their needs
• be able to line manage members of staff to support their wellbeing and development

Responsibilities

• Creating compelling written content about plant-based food; precision fermentation; cultivated meat, dairy and fish; and the plant-based food industry - across ProVeg B2C and B2B media channels (articles, blog posts, social media, video, info material, website etc.) as well as for third party platforms.

• Devising themes and ideas for content creation including building on the wide variety of ProVeg programmes across 12 countries, using effective storytelling and impact articles.

• Working with colleagues on graphic and video content.

• Maximizing our reach by optimizing content according to current SEO best practice.

• Assuring quality control in close cooperation with the International Senior Digital Communications Manager, as well as ProVeg Editor-in-Chief and our research department.

• Supporting PR function as back-up writer.

• Working together with other content creators, communications managers, or external service providers to successfully engage with our target audience.

• Repurposing content for different mediums, including social media and video.

• Using ProVeg's own research insights and other references to inform our communications approach to, and adapt framing for, different target audiences.

• Contributing to measuring outputs and outcomes to ensure our communications are impactful.

Qualifications

Required:

• Relevant degree in communications, journalism, PR, marketing, English studies or other relevant fields.

• At least three years professional experience (in an agency or larger organization) in writing online copy such as blog articles and social media posts.

• Experience in SEO writing/editing.

• Experience with social media posting and scheduling tools.

• Strong understanding of target groups and strong communication skills, with a strong feeling for the language.

• Creative mind, with the ability to conceive interesting ideas for new content.

• Good knowledge of topics related to plant-based nutrition and lifestyles.

• Proactive, result-oriented, and structured approach to work.

• Comfortable with working with tight deadlines.

• Professional attitude, minimal supervision required, and a comfortable problem-solver

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (native speaker).

Preferred:

• Background in the plant-based-nutrition or food-system sector.

• Experience in writing press releases.

• Experience in digital content marketing.

• Experience in building social media audiences through compelling content.

£40,500 - £44,100 per annum

What the job involves 

We're on the lookout for an Engagement Events Manager to join our fantastic Customer Experience and Engagement Team. In this role within our Communications directorate, you'll take charge of our Engagement Events strategy, steering the Engagement Events programme to support Prostate Cancer UK's ambitious plans. 

In your role you’ll oversee and inspire your team to go above and beyond, fostering loyalty, satisfaction, and trust among our supporters and customers. You'll act as a role model, demonstrating strong leadership skills and championing the work of the Engagement Events team across the organisation, fostering a culture of excellent collaboration. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring key senior stakeholders are fully briefed on all events and projects, as well as overseeing the management of external suppliers and budget management.

Working with the Data and Insight Team you'll ensure that our engagement events strategy and planning processes are driven by data. You’ll also work alongside colleagues to ensure that supporters have a positive journey, increasing engagement and encouraging further action.

About the RSS and this role  

The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is one of the world’s leading organisations advocating for the importance of statistics and data - and statistics and data have never been more vital. We’re looking for an exceptional, experienced writer, editor and communicator to deliver and lead our range of key platforms and publications.

Working with staff and members across the RSS, you will oversee and support projects that advance the science of statistics, bring data scientists together to share real-world problems and solutions, and make statistical tools, methods and applications understandable to journalists, policymakers and the wider public.  

Head of Content is a new role for the RSS and is designed to enable a more strategic approach to the editorial work we deliver. You will coordinate content across the Society, ensuring outputs and derivative products are tailored and targeted to meet the different needs and interest levels of different audiences. Our membership and wider audiences are expanding, and the Head of Content will develop a content strategy that sets a framework for content that is aligned with RSS policy objectives and strategic goals, and targeted at and adapted for different audiences to ensure the widest possible reach. 

The post will require a mix of hands-on content creation and editorial leadership. One of your first tasks will be to transition Real World Data Science, our publication for data science practitioners, to new editorial arrangements to ensure its continued growth as a platform for knowledge sharing across academia, industry and the public sector. This will also provide you the opportunity to work alongside key members and stakeholders who are leading our response to the challenges and opportunities posed by recent developments in artificial intelligence.

Our Head of Content will: 

• Work with wider RSS staff to develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of key internal and external audiences to better align content to those preferences and needs. 

• Lead the creation and delivery of a fully-costed plan for content development, maintenance and review that aligns with key strategic goals and activities. 

• Create or commission accurate, engaging, up-to-date and challenging content that fulfils particular editorial briefs, establishing and liaising with editorial boards to ensure technical integrity of published content. 

• Identify relevant experts within the RSS membership and engage them in content creation initiatives, formalising a network of contributors and providing editorial support and advice. 

• Liaise with third-party organisations and funders to identify topics/areas of mutual interest to provide additional sources of support/funding for new content initiatives. 

• Convene and lead a cross-RSS content group to share and review content plans and outputs and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration.  

Your skills and experience will include: 

• Significant experience working with different forms of content at a strategic and operational level. 

• Experience of editing publications and leading and managing staff and contractors. 

• Excellent organisation and planning skills – ability to identify and respond to changing priorities. 

• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to persuade, inspire, influence, and achieve results through others. 

• Demonstrable ability to innovate and think creatively.
