Job description

There has never been a more important time to join the Age UK fundraising team. Against a backdrop of a broken social care system and millions already turning to Age UK for help, older people are amongst those hardest hit by the current pandemic. Calls to our trusted Advice Line have doubled and requests for telephone friendship have trebled. We have been moved by the public support for our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal, but we must raise vital future funds to ensure we can be there to help and support older people as they rebuild their lives.
Our Fundraising team has an ambition to grow our income beyond £60M in the next five years. We are investing in an ambitious Fundraising strategy to help us deeply engage more supporters and partners in our work, so that we can be there for the millions of older people who need someone to turn to.
This is an exciting new role in the fundraising team at Age UK. We're looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to grow Age UK's digital fundraising (revenue generating) activities including paid social, email, Adwords, search and display to drive key audiences to engage with fundraising campaigns and products. To do this you'll develop digital campaigns and propositions for fundraising to drive acquisition and grow loyalty of supporters including developing engaging digital supporter journeys. Whilst based in the Individual Marketing team, you will help guide and support other fundraising teams to help them achieve their digital objectives as a digital subject matter expert.
At Age UK we use audience insight to find the moments that are important for supporters and understand their motivations to best engage them with our cause. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has experience working as a digital specialist in either fundraising or direct online sales with a solid understanding of using audience insight for decision making. In this role you will be able to develop your management skills, build a strategic digital fundraising framework for Age UK and work as part of an ambitious and collegiate Fundraising division.

You will:

* Oversee and develop the digital fundraising strategy and be a digital fundraising expert for Individual Marketing, Innovation, Events, Major donors and Legacies.
* Manage the digital budgets for Individual Marketing to drive revenue growth and engagement.
* Develop excellent working relationships with the Digital Marketing team to support cross functional working and the sharing of learnings.
* Create online user journey models with the Acquisition and Loyalty teams to build out holistic data driven conversion experiences.
* Report on digital fundraising activities to senior stakeholders.
* Use analytics, user research and audience insight to develop and optimise activity.
* Take a bold approach to innovation to engage online audiences including audience driven propositions.
* Focus on increasing email opt-in rates across all channels.
* Continually test and learn to inform new product development.
* Responsible for effective line management of an Email Marketing Executive, Fundraising.
* Complete financial reporting for your budget areas.
* Have an understanding of Charity and Data Protection Regulation legislation, including but not limited to, FRSA, IOF, DMA, TPS and Charity Commission guidelines.

We can offer:

* 26 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
* Annual leave purchase scheme
* A fantastic pension
* Health cash plan
* Annual Season Ticket loan (spread the cost of your commute)
* Cycle to work scheme
