Tom’s Trust provides psychological support for children with brain tumours and their families. Our head office is based in Cambridge but we have a number of staff who work hybrid or fully remote from home.
We already operate services in the North East and North West as well as the East of England but are determined to keep helping more families in more regions and we need someone to help us do that.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Digital Marketing and Communications Officer to join our small, friendly team. With digital marketing experience, the successful candidate will play a key role in attracting and engaging more visitors and donors to Tom’s Trust.
You will be a team player who is comfortable getting stuck in as there will be occasions where you need to get involved in things that may be outside of your direct job role.

About the role.
As a member of the Cathedral Leadership Team and as the senior operational manager of Wells Cathedral, the COO is responsible for the delivery of the Chapter’s strategy and plans and for the day-to-day coordination of operations in the context of the ministry and mission of the Cathedral. Reporting to the Dean of Wells and accountable to the Chapter of Wells Cathedral, this is a full-time role which requires a presence onsite to carry out the duties effectively. Wells Cathedral’s next COO should be comfortable managing the day-to-day operations of the Cathedral, a complex estate with multiple services, events and activities in a weekly busy programme. With an empathetic servant leader approach, they will work in sympathy with the values and Christian foundation, able to influence staff and volunteers in a collegiate and timely manner.
With extensive experience working with a variety of stakeholders across organisations, they should have the vision to lead as well as the ability to work as a member of the wider team. Similarly, they must have the capacity to support areas of work outside of their specialism, facilitating and supporting their team in key decisions. The next COO needs to be agile in their approach and adapt to developing, changing, and sometimes conflicting priorities, bringing their team with them. This post can be based remotely with occasion travel to the headquarters in Ryton-on-Dunsmore (CV8 3EN) or regional offices including London, for individuals based close to an COP office then the team are in a couple of days a week. The Head of Finance and Procurement will report to and work closely with the Director of Enabling Services leading the Finance Team. This team is highly competent, reliable, and experienced in what they do. A Senior Leadership role supporting the Chief Executive and Directors to lead, plan and implement the College’s agreed strategic priorities, ensuring products are fit for purpose and have the greatest overall benefit for end-users in policing.
The key responsibilities of the Head of Finance and Procurement will be:
- Engage, build and influence relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing strategic vision, leadership and accountability. Evaluate the impact of College policy, products and services to understand stakeholder impact and contribution to the College’s agreed strategic priorities Champion the efficient use of College resources and budgets
- Develop transformational strategy, policy and proposals to deliver the organisation’s agreed strategic priorities, utilising research and best evidence to apply rigour and challenge.
- Lead financial and procurement strategies and planning for the organisation, making appropriate and timely recommendations to the Executive and College Board
- Lead the overall management of day-to-day internal financial controls and assets including the detection and monitoring of fraud, and financial risk management
- Identify, analyse and manage strategic risks proactively, reporting, escalating and putting in place mitigation as appropriate and ensuring all risk assessment is timely, proportionate and balanced with the operational realities and requirements of policing
- Develop, lead and performance manage individuals through line management and/or matrix management arrangements as required, ensuring adequate resourcing is planned to meet objectives and that project and programme management disciplines support the delivery of key initiatives
The successful Head of Finance and Procurement will have:
- You must be ACCA, CIMA or ACA fully qualified finance professional
- Strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively to achieve objectives
- You will have led a team or teams during your career
- Strong ability to effectively challenge and influence others, including more senior colleagues and stakeholders, to ensure the right outcome is achieved
- You will have experience of managing budgets and forecasts, dealing with external stakeholders (such as internal and external audit), and have been involved in risk management and performance management
- Able to communicate with, engage and inspire others at all levels

This is a new role for LTSB, and an exciting opportunity to shape the way our young people engage with our work from first contact through to alumni retention.
Working closely with the Communications Manager, the successful candidate will lead on our online presence to engage new and existing audiences through advertising and social media, ensuring a strong pipeline of applicants for our programmes. You’ll manage relationships with youth recruitment platforms (i.e. Not Going To Uni and Rate My Apprenticeship) and you’ll be responsible for collecting and analysing the relevant data.
You will also establish and manage our Youth Board and so experience of direct youth work would be an advantage, but an enthusiastic, creative approach to the task of creating the LTSB community is essential!

Background and role purpose
Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.
You will devise creative and innovative strategies including campaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with new key stakeholders.
You will provide line management and support to the existing Partnerships and Development team of 5 team members (LGBT+ Fund Development Manager; Grants Officer; Communications Officer; 2 National LGBT Heath Partnership Officers). We adopt a collaborative approach across the team, so there are opportunities to actively engage with others across the entire team so we can maximise the impact we have as a charity.

Main duties
- Manage and maintain existing partnerships with key external stakeholders (e.g. funding sector, public sector, academics).

Person specification
Essential
- 2 or more years’ experience in a Development or Partnerships Management role.
- Excellent project management, planning and prioritising skills to manage a varied workload while staying focused on Consortium’s Strategy.
- Understanding of building and maintaining corporate relationships with the voluntary sector.
- Understanding of business development/fundraising cycle – generating leads, pipeline development and conversion.
- Experience working with marketing and communications functions to deliver collaborative campaigns and increase reach.
- Understanding of sustainable funding models and a curiosity to explore beyond traditional philanthropy.
- Understanding of the challenges and issues facing LGBT+ organisations, people and communities.
