Job description

If you are passionate about student ministry and seeing people thrive, this could be the role for you.

We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic HR professional to join our International Services team in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful and growing People and Culture team, which aims to build strong teams that provide fruitful ministry. You will be instrumental in fulfilling this vision.

Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, you will play a key role in shaping and managing the HR team (HR Partner and HR Project Manager). You will lead the HR team in effective day to day HR operations, overseeing the team’s provision of quality HR services to IFES staff and volunteers around the world. You will have both operational and strategic responsibilities, helping us plan and manage important functions such as recruitment, development, and reward.

You will have a warm and professional demeanour, able to build rapport and trust with colleagues. You will be pastorally sensitive, able to appropriately hand difficult and sensitive situations. You should have strong understanding of HR policies and practice, with a minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources Management, preferably in the charitable sector. You will be a CIPD Associate Member with a Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).

As this is a role in an international organisation, you will have significant experience in cross-cultural contexts, and enjoy working with a diverse team and range of partners.

If you recognise the importance of evangelical student ministry, are confident in your ability to work internationally, and are looking for a challenging role in a forward-thinking team we would love to hear from you.

What we offer:
• generous pension scheme contribution
• 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
• on the job training in various aspects of HR and professional development with the CIPD is offered as appropriate.

Our primary calling is to pioneer and nurture a nationally led student witness in every country of the world. The work of the International Service Centre is to support this frontline ministry.

IFES is an organisation with a distinctive Christian ethos. This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under provisions made in the Equality Act 2010. Applicants should therefore demonstrate a firm Christian commitment and agree with the IFES doctrinal basis and ethos statement.

This job will not qualify for a Certificate of Sponsorship, so you will have to prove you have other means to work legally in the UK before we would consider your application.
