Key Tasks

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.
You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers. Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.
Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.

Look after shared email inboxes, ensuring all queries have an appropriate response in a timely manner.

Support the team with basic finance reporting and updating trackers, including setting up and maintenance of a variety of fundraising platforms.

Posting out materials and prizes, and hold ownership over the organisation of stock and materials in the storeroom.

Liaising with charity supporters via email, phone and at Global, including the support line.

Provide cover to the Finance and Grants Assistant in periods of absence (training will be provided)

Support with fundraising and events teams in busy periods.

Complete any ad-hoc tasks, as required.
Governance – 30%

Co-ordinate diary entries for quarterly Trustee and Finance Committee meetings, prepare Board packs, attend meetings, take minutes and ensure minutes are distributed in a timely fashion.

Ensure all Trustees are stewarded, inducted and supported in their role with the charity.

Support the Head of Finance and Governance with relevant Trustee checks and forms, ensuring compliance with Companies House and Charities Commission.

Ensure collection of annual related parties records and ensure all documentation is filed electronically.

Collate monthly quarterly Global Board updates, liaising closely with SMT.

Essential Experience

Strong A-Level results (or equivalent) and/ or relevant degree / or relevant experience

A passion for working with charities.

Great interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work

Good time management and ability to work with tight deadlines.

Excellent organisation skills with adaptability and ability to use your initiative.

Experience in administration or other relevant work, such as taking minutes or working with a Board/senior team.

A confident communicator, with experience of supporting senior stakeholders.
