About You
As the Microbiology Society embarks on its new five-year strategy, with increased ambition to ensure that the science of microbiology brings maximum benefit to society, we are seeking three new colleagues with exceptional vision and skills.
The Head of Scientific Programmes, the Head of Engagement and Storytelling, and the Head of Development Opportunities will work with expert microbiologists and professional colleagues to generate innovative and impactful programmes, content, and markets
The Head of Scientific Programmes will be responsible for ensuring that our journals, conferences, professional development work, and associated activities are comprehensibly linked into a lucid and cogent whole.
The Head of Engagement and Storytelling will be responsible for ensuring that content outside of our scientific programmes aimed at public, policy and educational audiences forms an articulate body of material with clear purposes and targeted audiences.
The Head of Development Opportunities will be responsible for ensuring that we are bringing together both our current income-generating activities and any new ventures, both commercial and non-commercial, ensuring that these are targeted at enthusiastic communities and markets.
To fulfil any of these exciting new roles, you will be collaborative, articulate, and have a clear sense of purpose. You will build relationships with our communities of scientific experts, our trustees and other members of our governance structures, our energetic team of colleagues, and our partners and collaborators in other communities.

The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.

Fine Cell Work (FCW) is looking for a Director of Programmes with leadership experience in developing and delivering programmes. This is a critical role on our Senior Management Team, and we are especially keen to hear from those with experience in working with vulnerable adults.
Our Purpose
Fine Cell Work is a rehabilitation charity and social enterprise that teaches prisoners and ex-prisoners to make beautiful handmade products. The making and selling of high quality needlework boosts their self-worth, instils self-discipline and fosters hope. Our aim is for our stitchers to finish their sentences with work skills, money earned and saved, and the self-belief to not re-offend. We also guide them towards training and support on release. At the Fine Cell Works Hub in Battersea, we run our Open the Gate programme which provides work experience, formal training and employment to ex-prisoners.
The Role
This is a critical role on the Fine Cell Work Senior Management Team. You would be responsible for:
- The overall development and delivery of Fine Cell Work programmes in prisons, our Battersea workshop and the Open the Gate (OTG) post-release programme.
- Leading the Programmes Team (currently 4 FTE), providing strategic direction, management, and development to those responsible for prison programme, Open the Gate, and volunteer recruitment and engagement, as well as the Battersea workshop manager.
- Working with the Executive Director, support the delivery of our 5 year business plan.
- Embedding appropriate levels of evaluation, audit and process to support in-prison and post-release programme productivity, quality control, training, compliance and outcomes.
- In-prison programme
- Oversee the delivery of our prisoner training programmes
- Ensure we have effective SLAs in place with prisons and that the safety of volunteers, stitchers, staff and FCW is maintained.
- Identify and leverage best practices in delivering social enterprise in prison.
- Post-release programme (Open the Gate)
- Develop strong relationships and promote Open the Gate with probation, community rehabilitation and other 3rd sector organizations working with ex-prisoners.
- Drive the move-on strategy for apprentices including mentoring and training workshops.
- Manage and sign off the risk assessments for OTG recruits
- Volunteers
- Oversee volunteer recruitment and engagement, ensuring that our volunteers are well managed and supported and that we comply with any legal responsibilities for working with volunteers.
- Review and oversee the development and delivery of policies, training and guidance materials for volunteers.
- Reviewing and upholding safeguarding, including delivery of safeguarding training, policies and procedures for staff, volunteers, and ex-prisoners.
- Ensuring that the outcomes of the Open College Network accredited training meets both targets and funding requirements for cell groups and workshops, and that new modules are developed, registered and implemented.
- Such other duties as required by the charity from time to time.
The Person

Position
The ADoP has delegated oversight of programmes within the portfolio and line manages Team Leaders. The ADoP also oversees the Programmes’ Resource Unit (PRU) with line management of Head of PRU. - Oversee performance review processes with coaches you are the first line of support for
- Complete administrative duties, e.g. approve sickness, holiday, TOIL, casual coach hrs;

The Innovations team within the LGC Grant Management Group manage the delivery of healthcare research funding programmes including the NIHR i4i programme funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and SBRI Healthcare and the NHS Cancer Programme funded by NHS England.
We are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about innovation and thrives in a busy environment to lead on SBRI Healthcare and the NHS Cancer Programme, whilst closely working in collaboration with the NIHR i4i programme.
Job Purpose
The Programme Lead will play a key role in the Innovations team, leading on the operational and strategic delivery of a particular funding programme, covering the end-to-end research management process, and creating operational and strategic synergies across different schemes. Key to the role will be the ability to effectively liaise with the customer to ensure the programmes align with its strategic priorities. The Programme Leads will report to the Assistant Director of Innovations and work closely with the joint SBRI Healthcare/i4i Programme Director, other Programme Leads and the broader Innovations team.
Role Profile
You will be an experienced manager leading a team of Programme Managers and Senior Programme Managers to ensure the day-to-day delivery of all aspects of translational funding, including the commissioning of new research and development projects, the effective management of a portfolio of funded proposals and the capture of key outputs and impact metrics on delivering innovations to the NHS, care system, and the UK economy. You will work closely with the Assistant Director to develop and deliver the strategic aims of the programme.
You will have an excellent understanding of the UK health innovation ecosystem and an appreciation of current and evolving technology developments and commercial exploitation routes. You will act as an ambassador for our funding programmes, representing and promoting them externally to a wide variety of stakeholders, with a particular focus on engaging with industry.
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role focus on overseeing the delivery of the programme operations, portfolio management and analysis, communications and engagement, and leading on strategic initiatives for programme development and staff management. The following activities are key to delivering the Programme Lead role effectively.
Programme operations
- Managing and driving key relationships with the major programme stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact and leading and influencing discussions
- Leading and managing the governance of the programme, including preparing and reporting to the Programme Contract Management Board
- Supporting the annual strategic and operational business planning process and timely reporting to the customer
- Driving the selection of particular challenges or themes for competitions, overseeing the scoping activities and ensuring appropriate approval in preparation for launching new funding calls
- Overseeing the timely and effective delivery of all commissioning and monitoring activities of a particular funding programme, including competition delivery, due diligence and contracting of awarded applications, and monitoring and post-close monitoring of the programme portfolio
- Managing the financial reporting and forecasting with the finance team, including ratification papers
- Identify synergies that can be created across the different programmes and drive continuous improvement

About the role:
To partner with the Youth Programme and Content Manager to co-ordinate and host an inspirational and impactful programme experience for the RF young people, with the ultimate aim of becoming the leading programme of choice. This role is focused on the smooth delivery and development of the existing programme to support growing numbers of young people, ensuring regular impact measurement points are met. Programme
- Work with your manager to plan, create and deliver positive and engaging experiences for the CYP , following the agreed yearly timetable
- Delivery of semi-formal learning experiences through workshops to develop CYPs soft skills
- Facilitate workshops in a variety of settings (e.g. digital, at RF’s Hub and other venues)
- Liaise frequently with CYP throughout their time at RF utilising the most effective methods of communication (in person, telephone calls, messaging, email, etc)
- Point of contact with CYP families in order to ensure CYP are fully engaged with the programme
- Onboard new joiners to the RF programme, with the support of the wider RF team
- Informally mentor and support individual young people if they are going through a particularly challenging time
- Develop new referral partnerships with schools, hospitals and partner agencies and maintain good relationships with existing referral partners, looking for opportunities to develop these relationships as appropriate
- Deputise for your manager as and when required
Data and Reporting
- Collate programme data in a timely fashion, ensuring it is accurate and up to date at all times
- Maintain confidential records
- Ensure all projects are properly documented, are delivered within budget and that work is evaluated

Women for Refugee Women is a dynamic charity that was founded in 2007 to support and champion women who have sought asylum in the UK. Women for Refugee Women operates in a challenging area. The Role
The Head of Grassroots (Programmes) will ensure that the activities we offer to refugee women provide them with the opportunities to improve their skills and confidence and to start rebuilding their lives. The role will manage and provide oversight to WRW's grassroots staff, our dedicated group of volunteers and will work closely with partners to develop and deliver our programme of activities. Our activities include English classes, drama, writing groups, yoga and solidarity sessions for LGBTQ+ refugee women and non-binary individuals through our ‘Rainbow Sisters’ group, and much more.
The Person
As the Head of Grassroots (Programmes), you will be deeply committed to the effective planning and delivery of activities for refugee and asylum-seeking women. You will be a skilled organiser, a creative strategist, an exemplary leader, excited about empowering women and experienced in centering equality and justice in your work. You are likely to bring proven experience of working at the grassroots level, leading activities and developing short-and long-term grassroots strategies, whether at national, or community level. You will have a genuine interest in and /or knowledge of the sector and a commitment to the aims and missions of Women for Refugee Women.
While not essential, if you have professional experience of working with women who have sought asylum or survived gender-based violence or have lived experience of being a refugee or seeking asylum, and have used this experience to campaign for change and to support others we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a motivated and talented professional to join our organisation as the Director of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) where you will define and continue to evolve the vison for Ambition’s ITT offer.
You'll play a key role in ensuring high quality professional development for trainee teachers, mentors and lead mentors at a significant scale, holding senior accountability for successful programme delivery. You'll also help drive the continuous improvement of our ITT provision and participant experience through oversight of our delivery partner relationships, quality assurance, compliance, programme data and governance.
Other responsibilities you'll have include heading up the design and evaluation of our ITT programme model programme, as well as working with central and partner school senior leaders ensuring all parties, including trainees, comply with the School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT's) policies and codes of practice and other relevant legislation.
Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Senior Director of Programmes and manage the ITT Associate Directors.
