The Richmond & Hounslow Methodist Circuit is looking for a reliable and committed individual to support the life and work of our group of churches in SW London. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper organisation and management of our finances to enable our mission.
Key responsibilities:
- overseeing the Circuit’s day to day financial management
- supervising payroll and staff expenses
- financial reporting
- working with our accountants to produce annual accounts
- helping the Circuit to plan for the future
- advising on all financial matters

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.
The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. We’re looking for an experienced and driven individual giving acquisition expert to join the Growth and Acquisition within Mass Engagement. You will be joining the Stroke Association at an exciting and important moment as they continue to develop, diversify and significantly build our individual donor bases and income.
As Supporter Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Acquiring new supporters at scale in order to grow income across our cash, regular giving and lottery programmes
- Testing, validating and optimising propositions across a broad range of products and channels
- Playing a key role in the strategic evolution of the Acquisition programme as the charity continue to develop, diversify and significantly build our individual donor bases and associated income
Ideal skills and experience:
- Multi-year budget development, planning and forecasting
- Line management experience or support of a peer
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passionate about supporting the Stroke Association

Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare to children and adults with M.E.. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
Opportunity:
Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.
Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.
As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.

About the Role

Or, you will lead the Living Well Programme, bringing together a range of projects and activities that respond to the challenges presented by inequality and help to unlock the power of people and communities to create health, maintain good health and to manage as effectively as possible whilst living with one or more chronic conditions which in turn seeks to reduce or avoid demand on NHS services
About You
Whichever Programme you lead, you will have experience of:
· Leading complex multi-partner and stakeholder programmes in the VCSE or public sector
· Leading large programmes including programme management, governance, monitoring, impact measurement and reporting
· Working in an evolving strategic and operational environment and able to maintain and direct impactful programmes through periods of change
· Building and delivering communication strategies, using learning and insight to drive transformation
