About the role:
You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 16. You will primarily work with low-medium risk clients. Holding a caseload of survivors, you will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty system on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
About You:
To be a Domestic Abuse Caseworker you will:
Have a thorough understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic violence and its impact on women, children, families and communities. Experienced of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour’-based violence. Experience of crisis management and successfully managing a busy and complex caseload and experience of risk and needs assessment and safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs.

Domestic Abuse Worker (Refuge)

Morgan Hunt is working with a leading, national domestic abuse charity to recruit a Domestic Abuse Worker for their services in Salford. This is a full time, temporary role whilst permanent recruitment takes place and will involve working across two refuges supporting those fleeing domestic violence.
As a Domestic Abuse Worker, you will be responsible for;
- Managing an allocated caseload of women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
- Completing safety plans and risk assessments for those living within the refugee.
- Completing support plans personalised to the needs of those living within the refuge.
- Providing advice and guidance to those fleeing domestic abuse, whilst signposting to appropriate external organisations where necessary.
- Ensuring accurate, up to date case notes for each resident.
- Liaising with external agencies and professionals around the needs of each resident within the refuge.
- Ensuring the refuge is a clean, safe environment for those living within the refuge.
- Supporting residents with benefit applications and housing applications for long term accommodation.
The candidate - Domestic Abuse Worker
- Experience of supporting those fleeing domestic abuse.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and or other vulnerabilities i.e. severe and enduring mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviours.
- An understanding of safeguarding and how to respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
As the role involves covering two refuges, the candidate will be required to driver. A current Enhanced DBS is also essential for this role.

About the role:
The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

About the role:
This role is based in Portsmouth, operating as a hybrid working model with three days in the office, and two working from home. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will:
- provide pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service & support for visitms of domestic abuse
- provide support face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them & their family safe
- develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment
- Provide advocacy, emotional & practical support and information to victims including legal & civil options, housing, health & finance
- Participate in multi-agency meetings advocating for clients
You will need:
- A good understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
- An understanding of Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
- Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil & criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, prioritising work effectively
- Strong crisis management skills & the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- Good communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
- To be able to use various IT applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems
- This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement

About the roles:
These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London is required. Office location is Islington. About the role:
This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working, travel will also be required to other VS offices across London. As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will:
- Conduct needs & risk assessments to ensure each CYP receives tailored support that fully meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support
- Provide one-to-one support to children & young people living in families affected by domestic abuse
- Effectively manage a caseload of different risk level cases, providing specialist support to reduce the risk and increase safety
- Regularly review the assessment of risk, ensuring appropriate action is taken, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes
- Consult with and involve children and young people in making decisions about themselves and the development of the service
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, attending meetings as required
- TAdvocate on behalf of children & young people to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met
You will need:
- Direct experience of working with vulnerable children and young people
- The ability to work in creative and appropriate ways to engage with children and young people
- Knowledge of risk assesment & appropriate actions to safeguard children and young people
- An understanding of the current issues for children and young people experiencing crime, domestic abuse and relationship abuse
- Experience of delivering effective multi-agency and partnership work

About this exciting opportunity
As Women’s Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will be female adults aged 18 years and above on remand and unsentenced within HMP Peterborough. This role will involve completing Trauma Informed assessments and developing, in collaboration with each service user, action plans which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.
We will also rely on you to create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users and to deliver a range of interventions which contribute towards achieving pre-determined targets. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales are both essential aspects of the role, as is providing updates and reports, where required, using a range of formats.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working with females and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people.
- Proven record of delivering one-to-one and group coaching solutions.
- To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one.
- Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA) qualification or willingness to be trained to the required level.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload.
- The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, person-led support.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
