The Major Gifts Stewardship Assistant is responsible for an existing portfolio of approximately 150+ individual, trust, and corporate donor relationships. Main responsibilities include:

Job Purpose:
To be an integral part of the Philanthropy team, providing stewardship to individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate supporters (typically, yet not exclusively, at the £5,000 to £20,000 level). You will be responsible for a portfolio of major donors, ensuring their continued support of MSF.

The Role
As a Personal Assistant, you will provide support to two of our Directors and our Chief Financial Officer.
Acting as a conduit and gatekeeper for our Directors, key stakeholders and other individuals, you will provide administrative and organisational support to enable their day-to-day operations. This will include diary management, meeting arrangements, venue and hospitality booking, and financial tasks.
You will effectively process, circulate and respond to correspondence, as well as undertake research and prepare papers, briefings and presentations on a range of subjects.
Additionally, you will:
- Manage documentation and filing
- Support the wider Directorate teams
- Attend occasional out-of-hours meetings and evening events
- Take meetings notes and actions
About You
To be considered as a Personal Assistant, you will need:
- Experience of working as an assistant providing administrative, project and/or secretarial support to senior individuals or teams
- Experience of engaging and liaising with a range of service users and service providers
- Experience of managing and accurately maintaining physical and electronic filing systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Main Duties and Responsibilities• Undertake community fundraising, individual giving and legacy and in memoriam fundraising under the guidance of the Charity Director.• Support the Charity Director in their fundraising efforts.• Administer bids for charitable funds from the Trust’s services.• Prepare papers for the Quarterly Charitable Funds Committee, which is a sub-committee of the main Trust board• Prepare the Charitable Funds Committee Chair’s report to the Board of Directors.• Keep accurate records of the charity’s income and expenditure• Formally acknowledge any donations in a timely manner and keep records of this.• Manage the charity’s email account.• Manage any grants received from external sources, e.g. via NHS Charities Together• Administer and authorise the Trust’s Team Wellbeing “Big Thank You” bids.• Liaise with the Trust’s Accounts Payable Team to ensure accurate recording of income and expenditure.• Bank any donations the Charity receives via cheque• Dealing with service users/donors• Represent the Trust/Charity in virtual meetings with external organisations

About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Patrons Manager, the Patrons Manager is responsible for cultivating a pipeline of potential Patrons, from prospecting through to making the ask. You will work to achieve significant growth of Patrons membership whilst ensuring the highest standards are met.
We are looking for a determined, self-led individual who will gain satisfaction from achieving ambitious targets.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Significantly increase income from the Patrons scheme in-line with the Museum's Patrons objectives and strategy, primarily through the recruitment of new Patrons.
- Work with Senior Patrons Manager and the department Research Manager, to prospect, cultivate and recruit new Patrons at all levels, with a particular focus currently on the £6,000 and £3,500 tiers (reviewable in future years).
- Work with the Membership Team to identify opportunities to promote the Patrons scheme, and to steward donors who may already be supporting the Museum.
- Feedback insight to support the stewardship and renewal of the Museum's existing Patrons.
- Work with the Patrons Coordinator to ensure that day-to-day enquiries from Patrons are answered in a timely fashion, and that any emerging issues are escalated where necessary.
- To ensure that all UK and international Patrons are aware of opportunities to give to the scheme in a tax efficient and effective manner.
About you:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a subject which requires excellent written skills.
- Experience in fundraising and private giving with sound knowledge of Annual Giving schemes.
- Experience in handling data (including financial data) and designing effective processes.
- Advanced organisational, planning and administrative skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Administrative skills and strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful, logical and analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to undertake other duties and work outside of standard hours, as required.
