The Youth and Community Programmes team are looking for a Community Programmes Lead worker to support a broad range of activities aimed mainly at young people and over 50’s. Activities are delivered mainly over evenings and weekends aimed at making our community an inspirational place.
You will lead on session delivery and support the planning of programmes. You will manage and coordinate sessional workers, volunteers and workshop leaders working in sessions.

What the role involves
Key responsibilities
1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released.
2. Running system training drop-in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.
3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.
4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox.
5. Producing and maintaining a catalogue of training resources, ensuring links to practice-based guidance are established and maintained.
6. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Manager
7. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need
8. Supporting with training on additional systems directed by the Information Governance and IT Manager, including on the efficient use of SharePoint and Teams
9. Developing training courses for various systems, using our LMS (currently Rise)
10. Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.
11. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Harris Federation as a main provider ensuring all data remains accurate
- Preparing and updating PowerPoint presentations to promote Apprenticeship programmes
- Organising and promoting events and information sessions

The Geological Society has a core mission that is focused on supporting Earth & Planetary scientists, grow interest in the natural world, and connect science, the profession and society. Our education and outreach activities support this work across all five of our science themes. Planetary Science is one of these five key themes, and as such, we are working to better engage with our community in this area, and the opportunities that this sector can provide. Our new project, ‘using planetary science & space exploration to inspire future planetary geoscientists’ is generously funded by the UK Space Agency and aims to generate new resources and prospects for those aspiring to enter the planetary geosciences.
The planetary science education assistant will support the work of the wider UKSA project team and Education department to engage and educate new audiences about planetary geoscience and help to reverse the decline in university students taking on geoscience degrees. The assistant may also help to maintain day-to-day activities of the Education department, such as keeping in touch with school contacts, monitoring communication channels, and maintaining educational resources.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the investigation of current educational resources focused on planetary geoscience & space exploration, reporting gaps at different levels across the different subject areas where required. Identify opportunities for new, curriculum-linked resource provision.
- Work alongside the UKSA project team to interrogate the range of career opportunities available within planetary geoscience and space exploration, at various levels.
- Lead on the development of educational & careers resources focused on planetary geoscience and space exploration, supported by the wider USKA project team.

The object of the Society is to advance the practice and study of haematology and to facilitate contact between persons interested in haematology. The Society has some 1,700 members consisting of doctors, scientists and nurses specialising in the field of haematology. The Society has the British Journal of Haematology as its official journal and offers a range of grants and scholarships for research.
Role Purpose
This role will be split between the Guidelines and Education teams.
The main role of the BSH Guidelines is to provide haematologists with up-to-date advice on the diagnosis and treatment of haematological disease and also on laboratory haematology practice, primarily by the production of evidence-based guidelines.
The overall purpose is to provide educational training to haematologists. Our activities include running up to 10 events and courses per year including our flagship Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) held in April. There are two committees that govern the outcomes of these events.
The Role
The role is to organise and liaise with the relevant personnel and stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of BSH Guidelines and Education.
The post-holder is expected to work autonomously most of the time although the Senior Education Officer, Senior Guidelines Officer and Chairs of the relevant committees as well as the Guidelines Programme Manager will provide direction and advice as required.
The post-holder needs to comfortable requesting information from senior medical staff and chasing them if it is not forthcoming.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong project management and administration experience.
- An excellent level of IT and AV literacy including standard MS Office applications, analytical and data visualisation software, SharePoint, doodle-polls and video/audio/image editing.
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines.

The position:
The primary focus of the position is to support the operational side of the organisation and the Managing Director. You’ll need to be good at multitasking and highly collaborative.
You will work closely with other department team members to facilitate support for the wider team. This role will report to the Head of Operations, whilst working closely with the Managing Director.

This is a part time position of 28 hours per week over 5 days (or some of these days) with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced proportionately to 22.5 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday (or some of these days), with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 28 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

About the team
Sitting under our Finance Team, we work collaboratively to help safeguard our resources across Shelter to ensure the organisation is financially stable. Our finance teams all work together to help support Shelter’s aim to achieve a home for everyone.
This Accounts Payable team plays a crucial role within Finance – working to pay suppliers in a timely manner allowing Shelter to continue it’s vital work. We also lead on controls to help ensure that donors’ money is being spent in the best way we can. Part of your day-to-day tasks will also involve being the key point of contact through our Accounts Payable Inbox – and at times we’ll rely on you to provide training to Shelter colleagues on our purchase-to-pay cycle as well as providing guidance for raising purchase requisition requests. - Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.
- Assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes, feeding individual pupils where necessary including feeding by gastric tube after receiving the necessary training.
- Support pupils in the water and assist with swimming and or hydrotherapy programmes.
PDR – Take part in School Staff Development Procedures
- Take part in a performance management programme and work towards specific pupil progress and professional development targets.
- Take part in a staff induction programme, and pursue other training opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Take part in staff development days, class team meetings, departmental meetings, whole staff meetings and other occasional meetings held in usual working hours.
- To support students and volunteers who work within the classroom from time to time.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.
