The role

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and to their friends, families and carers. Our projects empower ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after their surgery and give them the confidence to take on fresh challenges. About the role:
As the Volunteers and Support Administrator you will provide efficient administration to our support services and volunteer team. You will also undertake any admin duties involved with running the Colostomy UK office and support other members of the team. You will be answering and re-directing incoming calls on our stoma helpline. You won’t be providing support to callers; however you will need to have an empathetic approach whilst explaining that you will arrange a support call back from one of our volunteers. You will action calls that come through on our admin line and manage our central email inbox, ensuring requests are actioned promptly. About the role
You’ll provide high quality admin support to the Midlands team, coordinate, plan and prep key meetings, and provide first point contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Including working coproductively with people living with Parkinson’s.

What you’ll do:

Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required

Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting

Respond to general enquiries in a timely and friendly fashion, ensuring needs are met, and participate in working groups, meetings, local events or activities as required

Maintain digital records on the charity’s data platforms

We are looking for an experienced Administration Officer to work in a busy rural office. The successful post holder will be based at our offices in East Lulworth, Dorset, with some opportunity for home working. They will provide day to day support of administration and management of the office and facilities. The post holder will also support Health and Safety, contract management and events reporting to the Head of Administration.
You will need to have previous experience working in administration within a busy team. You will be skilled in using all Office applications as well as being able to prioritise your work load when supporting and responding to queries from staff, members and volunteers via email, telephone and MS Teams.
