Stella Maris is growing as a charity, in terms of income generation and new programmes of activity around the world. To help support this development, we have created this new important role. The Fundraising & Communications team at Stella Maris comprises about 12 staff members (some full time; some part time).  The team and the charity have now reached the point in their evolution where we need to appoint a Major Donor Manager. This post holder will offer excellent stewardship to our existing Major Donors. He/she will also help to identify and cultivate new potential Major Donors from within and outside our existing pool of individual donors. He/she will substantially grow the Major Donor income stream for the charity. He/she will cultivate and steward Major Donors to give in new and more impactful ways, will increase giving levels, will increase the number of Major Donors, and will create lasting and meaningful relationships with our most committed and generous supporters. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and effective Major Donor fundraiser. The postholder will help us, as a leading maritime charity, to achieve our mission to support seafarers, fishers and their families around the world.

MAIN PURPOSE

The Major Donor Manager, reporting into the Director of Development and working with some guidance from the Head of Major Gifts, will maintain and grow a stable pipeline of income from Major Donors. He/she will secure unrestricted and restricted income from a portfolio of Major Donors to support the activities of the Stella Maris network in the UK and overseas. He/she will produce cultivation plans for individual Major Donors, meet them, craft tailored applications and reports for them.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1 Manage relationships with a portfolio of Major Donors in accordance with the Charities fundraising strategy and giving programme activity.

2 Establish individual donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship strategies, ensuring each prospect and existing donor has an appropriate communications and cultivation programme in place.

3 Ensure that donor profiling and research activity is undertaken on existing and potential Major Donors (within data protection regulation guidelines) in order to enhance and develop relations.

4 Identify potential Major Donors from within the Mid-Value Donor portfolio and help graduate them up to Major Donor giving levels.

5 Working with the Governance and Executive team, conduct meetings and visits with individual Major Donors around the UK.

6 Accompany Major Donors on port visits within the UK and possibly abroad.

7 Craft carefully tailored applications, thank you letters and reports for Major Donors.

8 Support other senior staff and stakeholders, such as Trustees, in cultivating relationships with Major Donors by providing research and other information as required, and bringing them to meetings with Major Donors when appropriate.

9 Build and cultivate relationships with intermediaries, e.g. wealth advisers, lawyers.

10 Arrange events for Major Donors.

11 Ensure that all activity is recorded accurately on the charity’s Customer Relationship Management database, and that actions are undertaken in a timely and professional manner. 

12 Extract monthly reports on activity levels with Major Donors, e.g. number of contacts, meetings, asks, etc., and circulate this internally to selected senior staff members.

This wonderful charity supports the children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s & Queen Charlotte’s Hospital – helping patients and their families, as well as enabling nurses and doctors to provide treatment and care.

City Harvest – Corporate Partnerships Manager
Location: Acton, London W3. Three days in the office.

City Harvest, the charity rescuing food to feed people and protect the planet, is seeking a corporate fundraising manager  with excellent relationship-building skills to be responsible for the management and maximisation of corporate partnerships at the charity.

Since 2014, City Harvest has been working to solve food poverty and food waste across London. Every week, the charity rescues over 100 tonnes of surplus food from the food industry. Staff and volunteers sort and package this food, and our vans deliver it, free of charge, six days per week to over 375 community partners across 30 London boroughs.  The organisation provides over 1.1 million meals monthly, with 43% of their deliveries made up of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Development Manager, this role will lead and manage a portfolio of charity partnerships to an excellent standard. As well as managing and supporting the development of strategic partnerships, the post-holder will build relationships with multiple stakeholders at corporate partners to develop engagement and long-term commitment. This will include partnerships such as charity of the year, London chosen charity, commercial, cause-related marketing and affinity partnerships between £5-£100k. The post-holder will also develop high-quality materials for current and future partners and lead partner visits to City Harvest sites.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in corporate fundraising in the charity sector or within a CSR team. You will be experienced in managing corporate partnerships and in building relationships with donors and senior stakeholders. Excellent writing and presentation skills will be combined with good time management abilities. You will also be highly organised and will have experience of using a CRM system for fundraising.

Job Description

Purpose of the role

Our PR & Media Manager is crucial to our plans to scale up our media coverage as we enter the final years of our campaign to end bear bile farming in Vietnam. As part of the Comms team, you will work closely with colleagues in our Programmes and Fundraising teams to amplify their work through public relations, celebrity support and media activity. Your key areas of responsibility will include press office management, preparing PR & Media plans for each of our key markets, preparing pitches, media releases and content for media outreach and building a library of case studies to showcase our work. Your other key area of responsibility is supporting our highly successful celebrity liaison to raise Animals Asia’s profile through earned, owned and shared digital platforms, print and broadcast media. You will possess the knowledge, skills, and creativity to help us raise awareness of Animals Asia and what we stand for, helping us grow our supporter base and meet our brand goals. You will be managed and supported by our Global Head of PR and Media.

Key duties:

1. Responding to media enquiries, drafting media releases, undertaking proactive pitch development, outreach to journalists, maintaining our database of media contacts and other general press office management.
2. Supporting our Founder and our Global Head of PR and Media to develop and grow relationships with influencers and high-profile supporters, and deliver campaigns involving celebrities and influencers.

Person Specification

The Church Relationship Manager will lead growth in TLG church partnerships in a focussed geographical area and also hold responsibility for at least one denominational connection. We’re looking for a strategic and pioneering leader who is a fantastic networker and has the capacity to work well independently connecting and influencing churches and networks through relationship building, events and meetings.

The Role

As their Lottery Manager, you'll take the lead in the development of their new lottery programme. Devising a comprehensive strategy for the successful launch and ongoing management of their lottery product. Ensuring all products are scoped out, plans in place to develop and delivery this as well as complying with all relevant gaming regulations and legal standards. You will work collaboratively with creative teams to develop branding and strategic plans to drive awareness and ticket sales.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust history of successfully delivering gaming products within a fundraising capacity, whether it be a weekly lottery or raffles. Moreover, you should possess hands-on experience in implementing data-driven acquisition and stewardship programmes aimed at enhancing acquisition and net income. Additionally, they are seeking someone with a strategic mindset, adept at not only developing but also overseeing the execution against plans. A thorough understanding of gaming regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical standards in gambling is paramount. Equally important are exceptional communication skills, enabling the articulation of a compelling vision and fostering effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
