About the team

In Birmingham hub we specialise in providing housing advice and homelessness work, with a particular focus on families and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We work in partnership with a range of organisations to improve the underlying systems that prevent people from living securely in suitable, safe, affordable accommodation. This role will be to provide day to day leadership for our Peer Mentor Service, delivered in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. FIRST stands for Forensic Intensive Support Recovery Teams, where Peer Mentors use their own lived experience of complex needs to provide early intervention to improve client outcomes.

About the role

You will be responsible for the day to day service delivery and line management of the Peer Mentors, supporting them to deliver tailor made and holistic support packages, integrating joint working protocols within NHS services. You will allocate referrals and work closely with the Service Manager and Service Commissioners to identify gaps in provision. At Shelter we are aiming to change the systems that cause the housing emergency so you will identify examples of good and bad practice which will then be used to call for systemic change.

To succeed, you’ll need experience of working with people with complex needs and in a multi-agency context with partners, community groups and other agencies. A good understanding of housing, homelessness and welfare benefits issues is crucial. The communication skills it takes to line manage others and promote effective working relationships, with external agencies, people with lived experience and internally across Shelter, are key. Ideally you will understand employing individuals with lived experience of complex needs, the challenges and opportunities this presents and how best to provide effective support. You have experience of promoting take up of services both internally and externally.

We are looking for a  Project Leader, well organised, with bags of energy and a sense of fun to join our team and coordinate two reading projects in Kensington & Chelsea and one in Lambeth. You will manage the delivery element of the role from a base within the local community (where we keep a book stock and all equipment needed) from about 4.00-7.00pm. You will also from time to time be reading with and visiting families yourself, so you must be capable of lifting boxes, carrying rucksacks and pulling trolleys of books, walking around the estate and up and down stairs. Administration will be done at home/office.

You will need to have outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationships with both our dedicated volunteers and the whole family. You will inspire a love of reading in the children we visit and be a friendly face for their parents/carers, providing support and information where needed. You will be confident, practical and able to think on your feet.

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

The roles will be embedded within our wider Family Hub work and will link to our Wellbeing Matters Programme, which supports people to feel more connected to their community, more confident and less isolated by linking them to local groups and services.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney.

This Early Intervention approach will enable young people to access support in a timely way within their own community and we will work collaboratively with the Hackney Super Youth Hub enabling a one stop shop experience for local young people.

We are looking for passionate and motivated Therapeutic Youth Workers who are committed to supporting positive change for local young people to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:

· Undertake 1:1, group, detached and outreach work with young people

· Provide one-to-one key-working up to 12 sessions, combining youth work values and principles with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to help address a wide range of issues that may impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing e.g. housing, employment, physical health, education, finances and relationships.

· Use a supportive, young person-centred approach. e.g. explaining what services are and what they do, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date, filling out forms together, making personal introductions, accompanying young people to initial meetings/sessions, being with them during phone calls etc.  

· To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.

· To maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans.

· Be an advocate for young people, supporting colleagues to understand adolescence, and how to engage with young people, particularly with concerns around:

o mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

o Supporting vulnerable groups who would not otherwise receive support (levelling-up).

o Improving children and young people’s engagement with EET.

· QCF Level 3 Diploma in Youth work or equivalent and have experience of youth work in a youth work setting

· Experience of working with young people, delivering therapeutic groups and/or 1 to 1 interventions in a youth work or similar setting.

· To have an active interest in working with those affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact this has on their life.

· Experience of building positive, impactful relationships with young people responding to their needs

· Excellent, up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding needs and risks young people may face.

· Experienced in working as part of a safeguarding team around a child, i.e. Childrens services, education, CAMHS, etc

· Experience of working in with an outreach role, in the community and school settings.

· Confident working well independently as well as in a team setting.

About the role:

This role is based at Accrington working in a multi agency team at Lancashire House. This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As a MARRAC Team Leader you will:

You will need:

• Experience managing a team delivering front line support to victims
• A comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact, hold an IDVA accreditation
• Knowledge of risk assessment & safety planning & Safeguarding issues
• Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil & criminal justice remedies for victims
• Ability to build & mainitain partnerships & pathways to improve service delivery
• Good orgnisational skills, able to prioritise effectively
• Strong crisis management skills, able to deal with difficult situations.

With 20 new people in the UK diagnosed with kidney disease every day, the need for information and advice from a trusted, understanding source is bigger than ever. The Kidney Care UK Helpline is a new national service to support people online, on the phone and by email at the point they need support. 

This role would be ideal for someone with lived experience either as a patient, carer or health and social care professional, but primarily we’re seeking the skills to develop the processes, support knowledge development and lead a team to provide information, advice and non-medical guidance in a friendly, timely and efficient manner. 

You’ll lead from the front; answering incoming enquiries is your priority. You’ll need to be able to speak to a wide range of people and respond to them with compassion and understanding.  

Building and leading a small team, you will support them to develop knowledge and adopt best working practices. Listening to difficult conversations, their wellbeing is key and you’ll be experienced at identifying and implementing the training and support needed to thrive in a challenging but rewarding role.

Keeping accurate records of interactions using our database is essential. Reporting the outputs generated and providing insights to is also a key part of your role. About the Role

About the team

The outbound Supporter Services team is based in Sheffield, this role is part of our Income Generation directorate within the Individual Giving team and works in collaboration with our Services teams based in Sheffield. The Supporter Services team manage outbound calling activity which underpins the income raised by the Individual Giving team.

The team provides high quality services for new and existing Shelter supports helping to promote Shelter’s work, raise awareness of house and homelessness and enhance the organisation’s ability to retain and recruit supporters.

About the role

You will report into the Resource & Support Manager and develop the tele-fundraising team through active coaching, guidance and as an escalation point. You will be responsible for developing the direction of and delivering the outbound calling programme which includes anniversary and welcome calling to our supporter and leading in the testing and development of campaigns.

You’ll also be responsible for management of our supporter services outbound calling team and acting as an escalation point for any complaints, as well as being the training and development lead for tele-fundraisers supporting them to deliver high quality calls and build workplace skills for the future.

About you

To be a successful in the role you will need to have in depth experience of working in a customer service setting in a supervisory capacity where you’ve supported colleagues in career development. Along with, proven experience of collaborative working with setting targets and supporting a team to achieve these and introducing new ideas, methods, and ways of working critiquing campaigns and activity to assess and improve.
