Job description

Combe Grove is a Health & Wellbeing Retreat located in 64 acres of woodland grounds on the edge of Bath. We are owned by a charity with a vision linked to Wellness, Ecology, Learning and Community.

We are currently recruiting for a permanent full time Finance Manager. The role sits within our senior management team and is responsibility for managing all aspects of the finance function. This includes ensuring that strong control systems deliver commercial, timely and accurate financial information to all users in the business and enabling appropriate monitoring and control.

This is a busy and varied role which involves responding to the needs of the business and coaching and supporting line managers to better understand the financial implications of the activities of their departments. 

Working in a small team including a Deputy Finance Manager and a Finance Apprentice, you will ensure work is allocated appropriately and mentor the apprentice during their AAT studies.

Duties will include but are not limited to ensuring that the balance sheet is fully reconciled each month, production of monthly management accounts pack with commentary, HMRC compliance including VAT returns, working capital management and cashflow forecasting.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a solid track record as a Finance Manager or similar. Some experience of SAGE 50 would be advantageous, as would experience of a finance role involving detailed reconciliation work between different business systems. Experience of the hospitality sector is preferred or another 24/7 operation. This role would suit someone with great time management, communication and leadership skills.
