Description
The key responsibilities of the Senior Finance Business Partner are:
- Providing support to Manager on all aspects of budgeting, financial performance reporting, forecasting and financial business analysis.
- Support the Manager to develop a series of dashboards or other suitable reporting frameworks which provides insightful management reporting.
- To challenge business assumptions in forecasting and planning.
- Participate in a programme of cost/business reviews which deliver meaningful, timely and relevant financial business analysis.

Profile
Business Partnering across multiple work streams is a huge part of this role - the successful candidate must have exposure of this in a similar role. For a large University, we are recruiting an Assistant Finance Business Partner for 6 months (FTC) although this may move to a permanent position. Your new company
An exception opportunity to work with a large/complex charity. There is a large finance team in place and lots of opportunity as a result for progression or sideways moves to other teams/projects. The organisation has a number of projects planned this year including a system change so it is an exciting time for them. Working in a large team, there is lots of opportunity and here and although this is a fixed term contract, the role could become permanent or other opportunities could come up. Your new role
This role has come up due to a Maternity leave on the team and is being offered on a one year fixed term contract basis. You will act as Finance Business Partner for the corporate function areas including Finance, IT and HR. You will provide accurate and timely management information, budget monitoring, analysis and advice to budget holders and key stakeholders, fostering a culture of financial accountability and cost efficiency. You will also provide relevant challenge and insight to support decision-making and ensure that budgets and forecasts reflect objectives and strategy. You will deliver relevant training and support across departments to help improve financial literacy and ensure compliance with relevant financial control procedures. Your stakeholders will include the Directors of the relevant departments and you will be supported (but not have the management responsibility for) by a team of four Assistant Management Accountants.
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the various projects that will happen in the Departments such as a Systems project planned for the Finance team.
What you'll need to succeed
- This role involves a lot of excel work including producing reports using excel and therefore requires someone with Intermediate excel skills including the ability to do Pivots Tables and V-Lookups
- An effective communicator, you will be able to explain financial issues to non-finance staff and to help people to use financial information well.
- You will have previous experience as a Management Accountant and ready to take the next step to Business Partner or you will be an experienced Business Partner ready to take on a new challenge and add value.
- You will be a fully qualified Accountant.
