POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs Accounts Payable function; processes transactions in the accounting system and maintains accounts payable files for vendors. Primary point of contact for questions and assistance regarding entry and payment of invoices.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Subject matter expert on Unit 4 ERP System Vendor Master File and accounts payable, provide support to other Internews staff also entering invoices.
· Prepare and enter multi-currency invoices for all payment methods (Barclays wire Transfers, ACH, check, FX, Western Union, etc.), including review for proper coding and approvals.
· Review and research open payables to resolve outstanding issues prior to payment.
· Process recurring remittances according to corporate schedule, including payment of invoices entered by others.
· Processing payments and Provide payment confirmations to appropriate parties as necessary.
· Maintain AP vendor master records in accounting system.
· Organize and maintain A/P files.
· Research vendor payment history in response to queries from Internews staff and others.
· Cross trained as backup staff to other department functions, including PSC payment processing and expense reimbursements and AP mailbox cover.
· Support of commitment accounting and purchase order monitoring
· Maintain Asset Register incl Additions and Disposal, Monthly Depreciation calculation and posting the journals into the accounting system.
· Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Payroll and Bank Reconciliations before month-end close.
· Debtor and Creditor reconciliations and Advances (Cards) before month-end close
· Processing and posting Prepayments before month-end close.
· Income & Expenditure Recording in the accounting system
· Proving support during Statutory and Donor Audits
· Fixed Asset Management.
· Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews Core Values.
· Maintains confidentiality in all matters related to vendors and payments.

Qualifications:
· 3+ years progressively complex accounting experience
· Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
· Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments.
· Intermediate expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
· Excellent organizational skills
· Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving ability.
· Ability and willingness to travel to international locations, including challenging or remote locations up to 10% of the time.
· Relevant university degree
· Accounting Degree or Qualified by experience.
· Familiarity with computers and computer software including spreadsheets, word processors, e-mail, and accounting systems.
· Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to write simple correspondence.
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization

Global IT Operations Manager
Contract type - Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid
Location: The role will be based in the UK or one of the following countries where WaterAid works: Sweden, South Africa, Kenya, Pakistan or Nigeria, subject to right-to-work eligibility in the respective countries.
For the UK Location, we offer hybrid working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face-to-face, in a WaterAid office. For UK-based staff, WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

About the Team:
The WaterAid IT team is customer-facing with a remit for front-line service operations, cyber security, technology change and project delivery, in addition to the development and support of IT infrastructure and application services running across our global organisation. The team also has direct responsibility for 250+ staff working in the UK and provides services and support for WaterAid staff across 20+ countries.
About the Role:
- Manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities whilst creating a sense of teamwork by pulling together colleagues with differing skillsets and expertise.
- Implement processes for tracking procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of all IT assets including hardware, software, and licenses. This will require collaboration with our managed service provider.
- Act as the ITSM tool global administrator, assisting country program offices with maintenance, support, access, development of processes & training.
- Develop, update, and enforce IT policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards and organisational goals.
- Manage the IT departments hub on the internal intranet platform, ensuring that it provides up-to-date information, news, and resources to employees.
- Oversee the transition of completed IT projects from the internal IT operations team, with potential collaboration from 3rd parties to the MSP service delivery team.
- Collaborate with the finance department to code, integrate, and maintain IT-related financial transactions in the organisation's financial systems ensuring accurate allocation of costs, budgets, and expenses related to IT operations.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Global IT Operations team to ensure a high-quality service is delivered that meets the needs of the stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a centralised knowledge base repository containing technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, best practices, and user manuals.
- Ensure that IT policies are communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders and are consistently followed.
- Evaluate and implement automation tools and technologies to streamline repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce human error.
- Develop technical relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
- Ensure that project handover agreements are clearly defined, detailing responsibilities, documentation, support processes, and timelines.
- Develop and manage the IT operations budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Organise the establishment and configuring of training resources for global IT staff as required.
About You:
- Proven experience in IT Service Management.
- Effective leadership and team management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive collaboration.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of ITIL framework and practices to ensure effective IT operations.
- Experience of working in technical teams delivering complex solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills and experience of liaising with senior stakeholders to deliver activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Be able to demonstrate evidence of delivering successful target operating model improvements.
- Adept at using relevant software tools and platforms for asset management, knowledge base management, project management, and more.
Desirable skills
- IT Project Management expertise
- ITIL Certification
- In depth knowledge of the agile delivery cycle.
- Worked with a Managed Service Provider in a previous role.

We're looking for someone with experience of verging or similar church support work. Good social skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own inititiave. The two Assistant Vergers and Precinct Officers (AVPOs) carry out a wide range of duties under the direction of the Head Verger and Precinct Manager. Work includes: the careful setting up and delivery of all liturgical matters; ensuring a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all working in, visiting, or using the Cathedral and Cathedral House and precinct and ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Cathedral for all.
Essential experience and skills
- Sympathy with the Christian faith.
- At least one year’s experience as a church or cathedral verger or in a similar role.
- A flexible attitude and willingness to take on a range of duties including practical ‘hands- on’ work.
- Attention to detail and an ability to assess priorities including when under pressure.
- Understanding of liturgy or willingness to learn.
- Ability to be a good team player and work collaboratively with Ministry Team, staff and volunteers.
- Willing to work alone.
- Good administrative and IT skills.
- Good understanding of the importance of security, maintenance and health and safety.
- Good social and communication skills.
