We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.
This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.
The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. The role
FareShare has a vibrant Fundraising team that has achieved incredible growth in support across income streams over recent years. At the same time, the organisation is passionate and committed to expanding our work so more surplus food can reach thousands of charities and community groups nationwide. To meet this ambition, we need to continue to grow our income and are looking for a Trusts and Grants Assistant who will be a key part of our Trusts and Grants team.
This is a new role that will lead on securing and managing grants of up to £10,000 and will provide support to the wider team on a range of functions, from bid development and supporter care, to research and prospecting, income reconciliation and record keeping. It joins a team of five that manage a diverse range of partnerships worth more than £4m each year.

About You
We are looking for somebody with fantastic written and verbal communication skills. You are a confident writer with an ability to present information that is clear and appropriate for different audiences and enjoy public-facing responsibilities. You will have good experience of managing a variety of administrative responsibilities and will be comfortable working to deadlines. Key responsibilities
- Income Generation: Manage proposals, communications and reporting to smaller grant givers and support the Trusts and Grants team in wider bid development.
- Supporter Care: Work with the wider Fundraising team to create inspiring communications and stewardship journeys for our supporters. This may also involve occasionally supporting the set up and delivery of funder events.
- Gift Processing: Work with Finance and Fundraising teams to ensure accurate banking and recording of grants and to administer timely thanking of our supporters.
- Research and prospecting: Support the Trusts and Grants team in the management of our prospecting pipeline and the co-ordination of introductions and mailouts.
- Administration: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Trust contacts and communications on our fundraising database, and to ensure this information adheres to data protection guidelines.
- Fundraising support: Undertake other duties that support the organisations fundraising strategy, in keeping with the grade and overall purpose of the role.

More about the role
Our beautiful centre opened in 1988 and occupies approximately three acres of land in a discrete location surrounded by fields where we can walk our dogs, providing some wonderful enrichment in a quiet environment. The centre has facilities to care for dogs and cats, as well as a specialised area for puppies and kittens. We also operate a pet food bank for those that might need our support within the local area.
As an Adoptions Coordinator, you will ensure the adoption process is thorough, efficient and follows internal guidelines, moving assessed pets to new homes as quickly as possible.
Working closely with Pet Welfare Assistants at the Centre and other Adoptions and Admissions Coordinators across the Rehoming and Fostering network, you will be making key decisions proactively managing our pool of homes, matching each pet with the perfect adopter, and providing post adoption support when required.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.
At our Southampton rehoming centre, we provide onsite accommodation for pets in our care 24/7. Overnight shifts are usually undertaken by team members who live on site. Occasionally, you will be expected to carry out night checks or stay in on site accommodation overnight when the resident team members are either not working or away for a period of time. These duties are organised on a local rota and shared between all members of the team.

You will have a problem-solving mindset which allows you to pragmatically look for solutions to issues. In addition, you need to prioritise, especially when it comes to making decisions on the adoption of pets and ensure you adopt a high attention to detail.
You will know what it is like to work in an emotionally charged environment and have excellent ‘bounce back ability’ and resilience. In addition, you will be emotionally intelligent, showing empathy and knowing how to support clients and colleagues.

This is a part time position of 28 hours per week over 5 days (or some of these days) with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced proportionately to 22.5 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday (or some of these days), with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 28 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.
Who you are:
You will be someone who enjoys supporting others in an administrative role and is happy to get involved in a wide variety of people and operations-related tasks. This role will require flexibility, a keen eye for detail, and good problem solving skills.
You have the ability to handle sensitive information and will work closely with the Operations team and Managing Director to uphold and continually improve our governance & processes.
You’ll be able to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment and be excellent at prioritisation and managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
Primary Duties:
Administrative (30%)

Supporting the Operations team with a variety of administrative tasks relating to people, systems, finance, governance, and compliance

Organising purchasing of products, equipment and subscriptions as the team requires

Managing the subscription renewal calendars, ensuring timely review for renewals
-
Provide logistical support for whole team meetings, events and workshops, budgets and quarterly reports
-
Support the order of the team drive, organising items as needed and responsible for helping maintain the UK naming conventions across the team

Keeping track of hardware and fixed assets

Administrative support for other departments as necessary, such as supporting logistics of departmental workshops and retreats
Team meeting and support (35%)

Manage System user-guides, How To guides & Best Practice guides

Monitor and manage the main organisational email inbox, triaging to other departments and handling enquiries and responses directly where possible

Remotely host whole team meetings, Diversity Equity and Inclusion discussions, weekly reflections, and wellbeing sessions (guidance and support will be provided)

Booking meetings and coordinating travel requirements for national and international travel

Assisting with the daily management of operational activities

Support Lead People Operations Coordinator as required with hiring practices, such as listing jobs externally, administration related to interviews and adding transcripts and proofreading closed captions for job webinars
Executive Assistant support (35%)

Support the Managing Director, helping with information requests, internal and external communications, board papers, scheduling, meeting preparation, minutes, updating Asana tasks and timelines, administration and expenses

The Middlesbrough Programme on Gendered Poverty is an exciting collaborative programme bringing together Buttle UK, the Smallwood Trust and Turn2us to test whether a co-produced & collaborative approach to grant-making can transform the lives of women and their children.
The programme aims to:
- Shift power to people worst impacted by gendered poverty and work to end gendered poverty
- Develop the programme using co-production techniques so that the voices and experiences of the women and their children, who face issues created by gendered poverty, inform and shape the programme
- Deliver the programme with and to communities of the most marginalised women and their children
- Apply an evidence-based approach to our work and programme design
- Use grants as a primary response and tool, effectively and efficiently
- Learn as we go and work to understand how intersections of inequality impact on our grant making

We are seeking an energetic, organised and passionate Programme Manager who will work with us to take this programme to the next level. We want this project to be led and informed by the women affected by gendered poverty because we know it will help us have a greater impact and shift power.
The Programme Manager sits with Turn2us’ Local Programmes Team alongside two other programmes working with communities to achieve financial security for all.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working, however regular in person work in Middlesbrough and London will be required.
