Gympanzees is a multi-award-winning Bristol-based charity. Our mission is to ensure all children and young people with a disability have access to regular exercise, play and friendship. As the Grants and Statutory Funding Manager, you will be pivotal in securing appropriate grants to meet our annual grant income target at Gympanzees. About the role
You will oversee all phases of our funded services and programmes, working at senior management level. This role will be a driver of change, leading on all our funded services and the development of CAHF Innovation Hub which aims to test and pilot ideas on a small scale. We want to continue to evolve our services with the aim of increasing the reach and the impact of our work. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering project(s) in the Advice Sector or demonstrable transferable skills, including:
- Collaborating positively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to maintain cohesive project delivery.
- Working with the Chief Officer to assess and review opportunities for securing new programmes of activities to strengthen our response to the community advice needs.
- Working with CAHF’s Advice Service Managers to ensure robust line management for project staff.
- Monitoring and reporting on project performance to KPIs to required quality standards.
- Manage conflicting priorities to ensure that objectives are achieved and deadlines are met.

Job Summary
You will take a leading role in developing and strengthening the regional and sub-regional networks of BRM groups, organisations and individuals in London and South East – these networks will both benefit from and shape the work of TPWLSE. You will also focus on building and developing the capacity (knowledge, skills and expertise) of BRM-led organisations in the region to operate effectively and successfully. This work will be carried out via networking meetings, regional and sub-regional briefings, training, fact-finding/learning sessions, group support and individual one-to-one support sessions with BRM groups and organisations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and run network development events to promote TPWLSE, to generate support for and involvement in TPWLSE’s work, to develop contacts and relationships with BRM organisations, groups and communities and to enable our learning about what support and resourcing BRM organisations and communities want and need from TPWLSE and others.
- Promote national and regional Phoenix Way funding opportunities and encourage applications. Promote funding opportunities from other funders.
- Deliver a combination of in-person, online and written briefings on funding and support available to groups and organisations in the region/sub-region.
- Set up and run training and learning events for BRM groups, organisations and communities to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise they need to operate effectively and successfully.
- Signpost organisations to capacity-building support and assist them in accessing that. Work with providers of capacity-building support to enable BRM groups and organisations to access that support.
- Develop connections with a broad range of regional, sub-regional and local stakeholders in order to steer their support, funding and resources towards and into BRM groups organisations and communities.
- Help to promote TPWLSE grant-making panels; help to recruit and support national and regional grants panel members.
- Gather and share feedback about TPWLSE’s plans activities in order to inform future plans and development. Contribute towards the evaluation of TPWLSE’s work, to include data collection/analysis and reporting to our partners and funders.
- Contribute to the circulation of regular TPWLSE news updates to network members and BRM groups and organisations in the region.
Person Specification
Experience
- Significant experience of anti-racist community development work, directly with black and racially minoritised communities.
- Significant experience of developing networks and directly outreaching with communities and groups.
- Significant experience of directly providing and/or developing and supporting projects providing infrastructure and capacity building support.

Knowledge

Introduction to the role
This role will ensure that we are developing partnerships and applying for new funding in line with our business objective and values. We need to ensure that we are maximising our future income potential for new business as well as securing income to continue existing business. You’ll be part of a team of Funding Officers, led by a Funding Manager, responsible for our grant-making activity in a geographical area. There are eight Funding teams in Scotland each covering a different geographical region with between 4 and 8 Funding Officers in each team.
Funding Officers usually work on grant-making activity within one local authority area and are the main point of contact for all grant-holders and applicants in that area.
Role Responsibilities include:
- You will provide advice to prospective applicants, assess applications and will be in regular contact with grant-holders as they progress with their projects. Your recommendations will guide decisions on awarding grants and how we support grant-holders.

The Head of Institutional Funding role is based in the Programmes Team, line managing the IF team and close cooperation with programme funding colleagues in Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon. The role has a broad remit covering developing and formalising framework agreements, programme design, proposal development and reports (narrative and financial), scoping and relationship development with relevant institutional donors. The Public Funding Manager will play an instrumental role within a dynamic team of professionals working together to deliver public funding needed for highly impactful conservation projects around the world that benefit people, nature and climate goals, including across Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean.
The Public Funding Manager is primarily responsible for managing the development and submission of high-quality project proposal applications to European public funding agencies that support TNC’s Shared Conservation Agenda programs in Europe and globally. Job Purpose and Background Summary
Half of CDP’s income comes through philanthropic and statutory funding. In the first half of 2024, we have an ambitious pipeline of institutional tenders and proposals to deliver on, and we are looking to appoint an additional fixed-term Senior Development Manager to help us deliver on this pipeline and secure funding for our mission. As a Senior Development Manager in CDP’s fast growing Institutional Funding team, you will work with colleagues to conceptualize and develop winning tenders and proposals that will fund cutting-edge work to mitigate climate change and reverse biodiversity loss.

About the Institutional Funding Team
Our seven-member team leads all aspects of pre-award project management, from opportunity prospecting through to contract signature. We already have a strong track-record delivering annual seven-figure income targets. We now plan to triple our income in the coming years, working with stakeholders including the governments of the United States, Germany, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and the European Union, as well as the Global Environment Facility, the United Nations and development finance institutions such as the African and Asian Development Banks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Rapidly develop a working knowledge of CDP’s work, liaising with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for donors.
- Lead or supervise the development of institutional funding tenders and proposals, working with colleagues from technical, finance, compliance and monitoring and evaluation departments.
