The role: 

As the Science Officer you will be the communications support for the Super Pollutants portfolio that includes the black carbon initiative. You will draw on your scientific research experience and science communications abilities, supporting projects with technical input and researching, analysing and creating unwaveringly accurate scientific communications spanning climate science and health impacts. 

You will have a knack for distilling information into actionable insight and accessible external communications – your way with words and understanding of audience demographics will ensure the clarity and impact of your messaging. 

Whilst your research background will give you the essential insight and expertise to contribute widely, this role is where your academic prowess comes to life in real-life deliverables. You will be called upon to support the design and management of research and science communication grants and projects,  to coordinate key meetings and workshops and to support Finance in how we manage cashflow and reporting. 

Throughout you will keep abreast of developments within the fields of air pollution, super pollutants and climate mitigation especially related to science and research, policy development, innovation, technology and impact analyses and portfolio relevant developments. You will never stop learning and developing your deep understanding of this subject and will inevitably become an expert. 

Your experience: 

Beyond your essential research experience in atmospheric and climate science, in particular experience working on black carbon or other super pollutants you will 

• Be able to demonstrate that you think and act strategically 

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to efficiently explain and discuss complex topics in layman’s terms.

Experience

3. Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

4. Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.

Main purpose of the role

We have a dynamic Fundraising team and over the last three years we have seen an incredible growth across established income streams and creation of new exciting income streams. To meet this ambition, we are looking to recruit a talented and experienced fundraiser as our Corporate Partnerships Officer who is able to jump straight in to help deliver our Corporate Fundraising strategy.

We are looking for an ambitious Corporate Partnerships Officer that wants to maximise fundraising opportunities with existing partners through excellent account management and also enjoys new business and converting leads to new partnerships. This role will be split with 60% of your time allocated to Account Management and 40% to New Business.  

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience of managing and growing fundraising partnerships, as well as experience of working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships including strategic partnerships, commercial partnerships, charity of the year and corporate donations, and support Corporate Partnership Managers with responsibilities relating to larger partnerships.
• Deliver excellent partnership management including developing a partnership plan, meeting with stakeholders, delivery of partner benefits and account stewardship.
• Develop and deliver timely, relevant and engaging impact reporting.
• Develop new and grow existing corporate partnerships, drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, for the best outcomes across FareShare’s work and maximising the income potential.

• Proactively approaching corporate opportunities following our new business strategy, writing funding proposals and approaching community groups for new partnerships
• Responding to volunteer enquiries from companies who want to work with FareShare and converting enquiries to new business leads when viable

• Maintaining accurate cultivation plans and reporting for new business approaches

Communication and Administration

• Develop PR and communication plans for corporate partners, working in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
• Manage the general administration and accurate data management for your partners.
• Support annual budgeting and planning in line with the fundraising team’s strategic objectives. Report on any variances of income against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
• Where necessary, work with the wider teams at FareShare and with our regional centre partners to deliver greater partner impact.

Job Title: Head of Employer Partnerships 

Reports to: Deputy CEO (but the role will also work in close collaboration with both the CEO and the Director of Programmes).

Location: Open to national flexibility on location. May occasionally need to attend our London office - Quantum House, 22 – 24 Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, EC4A 3AB.

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic professional to take the lead role in engaging employers, corporate funders, and professional networks and securing funded partnerships with them. This will provide essential income for the charity’s work with schools. It will also help the recruitment of skilled, diverse volunteers to support delivery of the charity’s innovative programmes for children and young people.

The postholder will work closely with our established employer networks and develop new networks; give leadership to a small team currently managing our partnerships and business development; and work collaboratively with an involved senior leadership team and further supportive colleagues right across the charity to achieve our aims.

Remuneration: £36k - £41k - depending upon experience. Pro rata depending on agreed full time equivalent hours of appointment (see below)

Key Accountabilities:

Identifying and securing new employer partnerships:

• Lead on identifying different opportunities to generate income growth for our charity, including ‘charity of the year’ partnerships and developing and promoting a range of attractive strategic opportunities for corporates/ employers looking to sponsor and fund our charity;
• Researching and developing a prospect pipeline, including spending time generating new leads and meeting clients, to support the development of new corporate partners and ensure that CRM information is continuously updated;
• From this pipeline, identify, contact, and pitch to prospective partners about the benefits to them of supporting the charity. Prepare and deliver compelling and evidence-based pitches and presentations including developing assets and proposals, reporting, credentials, and pitch decks to support income generation from employer partnerships;
• Generate awareness and visibility of the Education and Employers’ partnership proposition – e.g. delivering a regular series of virtual and face to face sessions to engage with new organisations and sell the benefits of Education and Employers corporate funded partnerships;

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promoting our work and building relationships with institutional donors

Supporting the work of the Head of Institutional Relations, you will have sound knowledge of the donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, and contribute proactively to influencing their funding strategies and priorities. Duties include:

· Maintain a good understanding of HI’s programmes, strategy and approach and communicate this externally.

· Identify and build relationships with a portfolio of large public and private institutional donors and their key suppliers (e.g. INGOs and for-profit development companies), mobilising colleagues from UK and across the global organisation as required.

· Work with country programmes to develop country-level action plans to engage with local representatives of UK donors and partners, in order to strengthen in-country relationships, influence donors’ country-level plans and access in-country funding opportunities. This will also involve supporting the development of multi-year operational plans and advise on the funding possibilities offered by UK institutional donors.

· Anticipate future trends and the expectations of the donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, influence their policies and strategies, and negotiate and consult with them on institutional funding matters, in liaison with the appropriate colleagues from the UK team and federal network.

Generate and manage institutional funding from UK donors

You will follow and champion HI’s internal institutional funding procedures to identify and analyse funding opportunities from UK sources, contribute to project submissions, and carry out grant management duties. You will:

· Monitor, identify, analyse and communicate all relevant funding opportunities from donors in your portfolio (including development and humanitarian grant opportunities and commercial contracts). This will involve facilitating internal go/no go decision-making for new opportunities and advising, and supporting programme colleagues on positioning and consortium-building when relevant.

· Lead the review and analysis of the requirements in new funding agreements and contracts, advise internal stakeholders on compliance and ensure appropriate contract negotiation and due diligence processes are followed.

· Implement internal procedures for contract/grant management and support the submission of reporting and payment requests according to donor requirements.

Improve our track record for UK institutional funding

You will be responsible for increasing internal understanding of UK donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, supporting high quality strategic submissions and donor compliance. You will:

· Create internal communications, train and brief finance, programme and technical staff (including country programmes) on the donors in your portfolio, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to comply with donor rules, understand donor priorities and focus areas, and maximise the potential for funding.

· Support proposal development, advising on donor requirements, expectations and preferences.

· Build strong relationships and internal links with technical and programme teams and contribute to internal working groups on issues related to institutional funding.

Other duties

Purpose of the post

The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within HDR UK, as the key point of contact and financial support for the Institute Office teams. The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week with flexible/hybrid working (after initial probationary period)

About the role

You will oversee all phases of our funded services and programmes, working at senior management level. This role will be a driver of change, leading on all our funded services and the development of CAHF Innovation Hub which aims to test and pilot ideas on a small scale.  We want to continue to evolve our services with the aim of increasing the reach and the impact of our work.  The ideal candidate will have  experience of delivering project(s) in the Advice Sector or demonstrable transferable skills, including:

• Collaborating positively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to maintain cohesive project delivery. 
• Working with the Chief Officer to assess and review opportunities for securing new programmes of activities to strengthen our response to the community advice needs.
• Working with CAHF’s Advice Service Managers to ensure robust line management for project staff.
• Monitoring and reporting on project performance to KPIs to required quality standards. 
• Manage conflicting priorities to ensure that objectives are achieved and deadlines are met.
