About the role
Philanthropic income is a critical element of ClientEarth’s fundraising mix, especially its role in securing significant unrestricted income. Starting with a historically UK-centric philanthropy portfolio, our philanthropy team now works with supporters across Europe, US and Australia.
We are now looking to hire a new Lead role to drive forward our philanthropy programme across Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for setting strategic direction and promoting excellence management of your own portfolio of donors. You will be responsible for growing existing income streams, managing our Europe-based fundraisers and identifying new European philanthropic opportunities.
Main Duties
- Management of personal fix, six figure+ portfolio
- Manage relationships with senior internal stakeholders
- Develop and implement the Europe philanthropy strategy
- Develop KPIs and financial targets for the philanthropy team
- Support new fundraising focused geographic markets
- Line management of the European philanthropy team with three direct reports and a wider team of eight

Role requirements
- Significant philanthropy management experience of being an active fundraiser and working with complex funders with demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure, and multi year gifts
- Experience in multiple elements of philanthropy fundraising including identifying and building supporter bases in new geographies
- Excellent knowledge of donor and pipeline management and financial processes
- Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives and ability to convene colleagues internally and ensure delivery of workstreams
- Skilled and supportive line management style, strong leadership skills to motivate and guide staff
- Excellent strategic mindset, problem solving capabilities and ability to think holistically without losing attention to detail

Having already raised £9.9 million for our Up Against Time Appeal, London’s Air Ambulance Charity is currently in the final phase of our campaign to raise £15million by September 2024 to replace our two helicopters. The postholder will provide the programme with the stability, expertise and guidance needed to steer the Major Donor team through the first year of a new strateg. Role Summary
This role will support the expanding Fundraising & Engagement team with all fundraising activities to ensure that good relationships are maintained with all Alcohol Change UK (ACUK) supporters. The Fundraising and Engagement Assistant will undertake the financial administration and recording of all fundraising income as well as being the first point of contact for the team ensuring ACUK delivers high levels of supporter care.

Status, hours: Permenant
Salary: Grade E: salary in the range £24,551 to £27,586 (depending on skills, knowledge and experience) plus benefits
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising
-
Coordinating ACUK’s CRM system (ThankQ) and ensuring data accuracy including:
- New donor details, communications with supporters, gift aid and consent purposes
- Championing data cleansing and monthly de-duping of contacts
-
Coordinating all general fundraising enquiries including phone calls, fundraising & engagement email inboxes (providing holiday cover for the training & consultancy inbox) and post.

Coordinating lead generation from third party challenge event companies and converting leads into participants
-
Coordinating fundraising resources and merchandise including;
- Sending out materials to supporters
- Compiling fulfilment reports from online shop and sending over to fulfilment agency
- Monitoring stock levels of fundraising materials and shop merchandise

Maintaining up to date filing systems

Supporting with research for Trusts & Foundation applications

Processing all physical (cash and cheques) and online donations received in accordance with ACUK’s cash handling procedures, including;
- Counting and processing cheques/cash
- Logging all donations on a central post sheet
- Processing and reporting on all donations received through the ACUK website and all third-party platforms
- Ensuring all donors are thanked in a timely manner in line with their communication preferences
- Importing all donation data to ThankQ
Engagement programme

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from our volunteers (Community Champions) and, alongside the Fundraising & Engagement Manager, steward our volunteers including the coordination of volunteer activities.

Identify opportunities for supporters of different types to discover new ways to engage with them (for example helping donors become campaigners or encouraging cultural change activists to become community fundraisers, etc).
Cross-organisational Role

Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.

Work particularly closely with colleagues in the Communications team, optimising opportunities for joint working.

Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Senior Bid Writer to join our Business Development team working on tender opportunities, tracking new and existing business and handling of new contracts for POhWER.
POhWER needs to increase and diversify its income to achieve greater financial sustainability. To do this we need to grow our services to reach new parts of the UK and new areas of work. However we also recognise the importance of retaining our existing contracts. To support this ambition we are looking for someone to support and work with our existing team.
Our Bid Writers coordinate the organisation’s response to all tenders. This includes re-tendering for our existing services as well as responding to tenders for services in new areas, or new services in our existing areas.
The role includes:
· Lead and co-ordinate tender activity ensuring that POhWER wins and retains new and existing services and contracts
· Take ownership of the bid response, style and format and overseeing it through the production process.
· Prepare and write tenders in a persuasive manner that takes full account of customer-specific style and content.
You will have excellent written communication, attention to detail and proof reading skills and a good knowledge of POhWER’s services. You will also have an ability to work to strict deadlines and a confident, flexible and positive attitude.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s Women’s Centre/office space.
You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

Community Fundraising Manager
The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser, dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.
Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.
Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. You will research, identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities, areas of potential support and build a robust pipeline for restricted grants and corporate partners.
The role is home based. There will be travel around the areas that the role covers.
This position is a permanent, full-time role to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The nature of community fundraising is that there will be evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.
Key skills and requirements (essential):
· The ability to develop, implement and monitor strategic plans, present budgets and interpret financial information
· The ability to research, assess and initiate new opportunities within the context of an overall plan
· Able to recruit, develop and train, motivate and manage individuals and teams of Volunteers to give their very best
· Able to use interpersonal skills in order to engage effectively with others, understand what motivates them and respond appropriately
· Written communication skills and a high level of numeracy to be able to produce business plans, monthly reviews, press releases, letters, presentations and other similar documents
· Excellent verbal communication skills, to be able to deliver presentations and give local media interviews

About you

Main duties of the job
