Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer role:
As Senior Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all income generation via community fundraising. The purpose of this post is to feed into strategy, providing guidance and direction to ensure that Community Fundraising continues to grow as an area of income and that all Community Fundraisers receive high-quality support and stewardship.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer:

Line-managing, leading and supporting a team of 2 Community Fundraising Officers

Developing and maintaining a strong network of working relationships with individual fundraisers and supporters.

Taking responsibility for income generation from various sources including:
- physical fundraising challenges
- non-physical fundraising events
- educational institutions
- community groups
- celebration fundraising (e.g. birthdays and weddings)

Ensuring oversight of Women’s Aid’s annual flagship fundraising event, the 1.7 Challenge, and any other mass fundraising events.
What we are looking for in our Senior Community Fundraising Officer:

At least 2 years’ experience of working in a professional fundraising role.

Experience of managing a portfolio of fundraising events for community fundraising.

Experience of working within a team and individually to achieve success; meeting or exceeding your financial targets.

Demonstrable experience of initiating cross-team working to achieve financial goals.

Experience of using a CRM database, such as Raiser’s Edge, Access Charity CRM, or Sales Force, to target and segment supporters.

Any experience of developing fundraising strategies for working with educational institutions, community fundraisers and faith groups is also desirable.

Ability to carry out thorough research to keep-up-to date with new fundraising opportunities.

Experience of managing a team.

Experience of maintaining and reporting against budgets and feeding into the teams KPI’s.

Excellent computer skills and experience using a wide range of computer packages, including Microsoft packages.

Excellent interpersonal, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of the role of Women’s Aid, of domestic abuse and the issues relating including the impacts on women and children.

Since 2002 Seed of Hope has supported over 4,000 disadvantaged young people aged 14-25 in Kenya with the opportunity to learn a skilled trade, computer skills and business skills. We are looking for a talented storyteller and writer to join our small team in the UK and create exceptional content. You’ll support with crafting engaging funding applications, which stand out from the crowd and capture the funders hearts. You’ll create bright and positive social media and blog posts to share the uplifting stories of students and graduates from Seed of Hope and grow our online supporter base, in turn increasing our donors.
We don’t mind if you don’t have charity experience, we’re willing to train you and show you what we do. We are looking for someone who can write excellent content and showcase what we do.
Hours: 14 hours per week, to be worked as either full 7 hour days, or spreading the hours across the week. Regular days and hours to be agreed in advance.
Salary: £28,000 (pro-rata for 14 hours a week)
Pension: 3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution (opt-out available).
Contract: 1 year fixed term contract. With a view to making it permanent if resources allow.
Base: The role will be home-based and require your own computer. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, expenses will be paid in accordance with our Expenses Policy. We seek a Global Technical Lead - Social Inclusion and Mainstreaming, with expertise in addressing inequalities, to join our team of social inclusion professionals. The post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support in the design of new projects, the provision of technical expertise to ongoing initiatives and will also play a role in shaping the strategic direction of Sightsavers' approach to disability inclusive decision-making, gender mainstreaming, and supporting our policy and global advocacy priorities.
The Global Technical Lead - will support the Deputy Technical Director, Social inclusion in delivering Sightsavers' work in inclusive decision-making. This will include working closely with country office staff to deliver our West Africa portfolio of projects addressing inclusive citizenship and political participation (CPP). Inclusive democracy is an area of growth for Sightsavers, and the post-holder will have a significant role in contributing to growing the portfolio.
Principal accountabilities will include:
- Providing Sightsavers staff and our partners, technical leadership, support and guidance in the area of disability inclusion across our thematic area of citizenship and political participation
- Identifying the capacity building needs of Sightsavers' staff and partners globally to deliver social inclusion programming
- Working with Global Technical Leads and other teams to identify new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in social inclusion including in fragile environments and promoting locally led development.
- Developing tools and guidance around disability mainstreaming
- Representing Sightsavers externally and strengthening partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Working with fundraisers to generate additional financial resources.
- Contributing to the design of new opportunities

This is an ideal opportunity for someone enthusiastic about leading our efforts in disability mainstreaming across a number of key projects as well as designing new programmes in the future. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Significant and demonstrable practical experience in a relevant field (social work/social inclusion; gender studies, disability studies, international development etc.)
- Knowledge of current issues and best practice in social inclusion, gender, disability and development
- Experience in social inclusion and rights-based programming in low-resource settings
- Experience in developing and adapting programme guidance tools and other resource materials.
- Experience in collating, synthesising and disseminating best practice guidance, research and programme learning.
- Demonstrable experience of supporting capacity strengthening initiatives and programmes with marginalised groups in low-resource settings
- Good knowledge of the key international networks and organisations working on social justice and inclusion
- Experience of representing an organisation at conferences and events
- Excellent oral and writing skills in English and French
- The ability to travel for up to 12 weeks a year

We are at an exciting stage as an organisation with an ambitious 10-year strategy to increase our choirs from six to thirty by 2033, so we are investing in our fundraising team to grow our income in line with our bold strategy and plans.
Reporting to the Head of Development, the Development Manager will take an active role in building a robust and sustainable major donor and corporate fundraising programme to help us expand our work across the UK over the coming years. They will work closely with the Head of Development to establish new and exciting partnerships with high-net-worth individuals and companies who align with our values, to grow income sustainably and guarantee the long-term stability of the organisation. Major Donor Fundraising
- Proactively research, identify, and develop support from high-net-worth individuals.
- Manage a portfolio of philanthropy partners, building our income from major donors and developing a long-term major donor strategy.
- Plan and participate in engaging cultivation events, fostering strong donor relationships.
Corporate Fundraising
- Build and nurture strong partnerships with companies of all sizes, taking a proactive approach to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships nationally and locally in our choir cities.
- Securing gig sponsorship and Charity of the Year partnerships, both on a national and local level.
- Manage a portfolio of corporate partners of all sizes, building our income from businesses and developing a successful long-term strategy for securing financial, pro bono and in-kind support.
- Develop long-term relationships with companies and senior business people for the Choir with No Name
- Develop our workplace singing workshop programme into a sustainable self-earned revenue stream.
Individual Giving
- Oversee the Big Give Christmas campaign in December.
- Manage and develop the Choir with No Name fan club (regular giver programme), agreeing and achieving recruitment and attrition targets.
- Working with the Communications and Operations Officer, develop and promote digital giving appeals.
- Manage the Choir with No Name supporter database (eTapestry) ensuring donor data is kept up to date and is accurate.
- Work with the finance and data administrator to produce accurate and timely monthly donation reports for our bookkeeper.
General
- Contribute to the annual fundraising strategy, alongside the Head of Development and CEO.
- Develop a robust fundraising pipeline and stewardship plan to generate sustainable income in line with our targets and strategy.
- Evaluate fundraising activities, embedding a test and learn approach across all projects.
- Produce accurate and timely reports for funders and Trustees.
- Ensure donation data is accurately recorded in accordance with data protection regulations.
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Choir with No Name within the scope of the role.
