To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator who can get to grips with complex climate change policy debates and produce incisive, punchy information for UK policy makers.

Reporting to the research director, you will work alongside other staff in an in-house policy team comprising the executive director, research and policy directors, heads of policy, senior advisers, advisers, analysts and assistants. You will line manage three policy advisers, and you will work with the communications team on the production of outputs, events and media.

Every 6 minutes someone learns that they are losing their sight. Every five hours, a baby is born with sight problems. In these moments, two profound questions emerge:
• Can this be stopped?
• How do I (or my child) live this life?
The merger of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation on 1st April 2023 will enable us to address both questions. By combining our strengths and expertise we’ll be the only significant national funder with the efficiency, capability, and capacity to increase investment in medical research and social improvement. Together we can mitigate both the prevalence and impact of sight loss.

We’ve secured well-respected and highly engaged ambassadors and patrons, such as Sir John Major and Marsha De Cordova MP. We also benefit from world renowned researchers on our Research Grants Assessment Panel.
We are now looking for experienced, committed, and creative individuals to join our dynamic team as we devise and launch new five-year organisational and research strategies. You’ll have a chance to contribute to the delivery of these strategies and lead on plans for disseminating them.

About World Child Cancer
Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.
The solution? It already exists. The challenge is making sure that every child gets the diagnosis, treatment and care they need. Yet in many countries, public and professional awareness of childhood cancer is dangerously low. Opportunities for early diagnosis are missed. Referrals are delayed. And there are not enough health workers with the specialist skills to diagnose and treat the disease.
It is children and families that pay the price.
Determined to balance this inequality, World Child Cancer works with local, regional, and international partners in some of the world’s poorest countries to improve: Treatment, early diagnosis, family support and advocacy.
Created in 2007, World Child Cancer is a small yet fast-growing, ambitious international charity.
