Job description

Velindre University NHS Trust Charity is the Trust’s official charity, which supports the Trust’s provision of world class research-led treatment, care and support for patients and families affected by cancer in South East Wales and those who are involved in the donation of blood products. We have a fantastic team of fundraisers, ambassadors and volunteers who are dedicated to the cause, but as with other charities, coronavirus has had a significant impact on our income.

We are seeking a Charity Director to strategically lead and inspire the team and charity supporters to deliver and grow a multi-million pound portfolio of events, campaigns and external communications, generating the money we need to fund the vital research and support that actively improves the lives of people living with cancer.

You will use your passion and emotional intelligence to lead the Charity towards achieving its vision and help it progress to reaching  its full potential, building from a strong base and continuing to evolve it’s profile, income and brand presence.

With significant experience of operating at a senior level, you will have well developed communication skills to inspire confidence, influence and engage credibly with key stakeholders, senior leaders and major donors.

You will be a decisive and performance oriented leader who can develop and deliver an ambitious and achievable Charity Strategy, focused on continuous improvement, ensuring our Charity remains efficient, effective, and sustainable. The ability to innovate and horizon scan, and to grow and nurture our talented staff and volunteers is also an essential part of the role.
