Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. Cats are at the centre of everything we do and our objectives are: homing, neutering and educating people about cats and their care. We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters.
A bit about this role
As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances
- Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
- Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection
- Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation
Our fundraising events organisers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.
Additional information
At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. To make sure this is the case, we provide support and guidance both remotely from our National Cat Centre and face to face through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We also offer varied online and face-to-face training and have wide-ranging policies covering all aspects of volunteering. We hope the support we provide will ensure our volunteers have a great experience with Cats Protection.

As an event volunteer you will play a vital role by raising awareness of our services, assisting with fundraising and engaging with the local community.You will represent Magpas Air Ambulance at a wide range of events indoors and outdoors, come rain or shine. You may be assisting with car parking, meeting and greeting, setting up a stall, selling merchandise, engaging the public and answering questions. Magpas Air Ambulance have a presence at over 150 events each year and need reliable, friendly people like you to help us achieve this. At larger events you will be supported by an event lead and we'll always make sure you are prepared and confident, you don't need to have previous experience, just be willing to get stuck in!
As an event volunteer, you will be expected to:
- Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner.
- Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance to secure basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service.
- Wear your Magpas Air Ambulance ID badge while volunteering, ensuring it's visible at all times.
- Follow the leadership and guidance of the event lead, staff member or event organiser.
- Assist in all event activities in a flexible and friendly manner.
- Have good communication skills and be able to work with other volunteers and staff as part of a team.
- Process the sale of merchandise and take donations.
- Follow all Magpas Air Ambulance policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents and incidents.
- Recognise, respond to and report any safeguarding issues or concerns.

Every year, hundreds of people take part in sporting events to raise much needed funds for our work. Individuals spend countless hours training through snow, rain and sun to complete challenges that support our vital work.
We aim to help these superstars throughout their training, by giving them a friendly phone call, and this is where you come in.
We know the power of a phone call and how it can help encourage people with their training, reminding them they are not alone and who they are doing it for. We’re looking for volunteers to join us on set days to call our MS Superstars.
What the role involves:
- Calling our sporting fundraisers and asking:
- How their training is going
- How their fundraising is going and do they need any advice
- Conveying our thanks
- Updating an excel spreadsheet on a laptop
- What you need for this role
- A good phone manner and etiquette
- Friendly tone of voice and good listening skills
- Happy to read from a script and make notes on a laptop
In order to volunteer in this role, you will need to:
- Complete an application
- Have an informal conversation with the fundraising volunteer manager

The Giant Walk is a Marathon distance charity walk happening this May across Cheshire from Hale on Mersey to Hale, Greater Manchester. It is entirely a charity event with walkers being able to choose the charity they want to fund raise for.
The organisers are looking for one or two social media / fundraising support volunteers to engage with fundraisers in the run up to the event, and in particular on the day of the 5th May.
You must have strong social media skills, be able to volunteer your time, be free on the 5th May in particular and perhaps a keen interest in the outdoors. Fundraisers and funders need to be focused on the event Just Giving Page

We are looking to recruit a Volunteer Driver for the Croydon Group. As a Volunteer Driver you will help reduce isolation by driving people who wouldn’t be able to attend their local group’s activities and events.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be friendly and welcoming and have previous experience of driving a minibus.
