Overview: Path to Prosper is seeking a detail-oriented, organised and self-motivated individual to join our team as a volunteer Fundraising Lead. This individual will be responsible for managing the organisation's fundraising and grant activities, through managing our Trust and Funds process and seeking new avenues for funding

STAMMA is a small, award-winning charity with big ambitions working with a brilliant community keen to create space and respect for people who stammer.
Many people who stammer face daily ignorance, discrimination and disrespect. This can affect job prospects and mental health and cause social isolation. It can make a GP appointment a nightmare, stop you from accessing a service altogether and leave you feeling disbelieved. STAMMA is here to change that.
We have embarked on a new three-year strategy – Space to Stammer, to achieve real and practical change for people who stammer and showcase the inadvertent barriers they face. We aim to create a culture where consideration for people who stammer is akin to checking for wheelchair access; it is something to be thought about when it comes to every day like oral exams, customer services, booking GP appointments, online banking, or even being a parliamentarian. Our campaigns are about changing perceptions and have been award-winning and life-changing, and include Make GP Bookings Accessible, It’s How We Talk, No Diversity without Disfluency and campaigning against the Apple suggestion of the Woozy face emoji when the word ‘stammering’ is typed.
We want to reach more people who stammer and grow our base but to do that, we need to expand our training and advocacy services and underpin our whole range of support services, hence, we need to build our income streams.

Our new Chair
As our previous Chair, Joanna Gaukroger, stepped down due to illness, we are looking for a new Chair to lead our Board. It is vital that our new Chair shares our passion for creating a world that makes space for stammering, where a stammer is embraced as just a difference, and no one judges a stammer or how someone deals with it. Our new Chair will bring governance experience, be commercial and drive our strategy with our Chief Executive to continue our organisation’s development, including ensuring sustainability. Our new Chair will be committed to making a meaningful impact, foster engagement and strategic thinking.
Our new Chair will work with our ambitious board and executive team to ensure our organisation continues to be innovative and sustainable and champions the rights of those we support. We envisage our Chair as an inclusive leader, ensuring all voices are heard. We must represent our diverse communities, and we support everyone; those who passionately believe there should be no need to hide or control their stammer as well as those who seek more fluent or smoother speech.

In addition to our new Chair, we are looking for a new Trustee who will bring skills and experience in strategic fundraising. Our new Trustee will have senior leadership experience with fundraising experience, particularly around individual giving, corporate partnerships, and major donor fundraising. Our new Trustee will share our excitement and ambition for change. We are looking for someone who can support us build our fundraising strategies and provide sound advice and challenge.
Time Commitment
The Board meets 6 times a year including an annual general meeting and our national conference – STAMMAFest. Meetings are usually held on a Saturday for 2 – 3 hours online and 4 – 5 in person. 3 of these meetings typically take place online, and 3 can take place in person in different locations across England, including London and Manchester.
We also have several committees; Trustees usually join one sub-committee. Our committees include the Finance Committee, the Fundraising Committee, the Research Committee, and the Membership Committee. Our new Fundraising Trustee will join our Fundraising committee.
We expect the time commitment for the Chair to vary. On average, we would expect the equivalent of c.2 days a month, spread across various activities such as preparation for board meetings, reading board papers, regular conversation with the Chief Executive, ad hoc discussions with board members and the executive team, and attending events throughout the year. Your skills and expertise will help Off the Record to continue providing its invaluable mental health services to the children and young people in our community and expand our services to reach those who need our support.

You will join a friendly and dynamic organisation, where the mental health of young people from our local area is at the heart of our mission. We are a well-established local organisation with a powerful reputation in this area. Your involvement as a Trustee will allow you to highlight your skills and experience for the benefit of vulnerable young adults and children. We will organise for you to attend a training workshop in Governance at the beginning of your time with us.
Time commitment:
The Board meets five times a year, collaborating with the Directors to oversee the strategic direction of the organisation as well as taking care of the Charity’s financial, legal and employment responsibilities. These in-person meetings are held in Croydon on Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:30. Additionally, trustees are encouraged to participate in two Charity days annually, held on Saturdays, where all staff get together (10:00 to 16:00 in April and October).
Some ad-hoc communications via email/telephone/Teams as required i.e., working on specific projects related to the trustees’ area of expertise. We estimate that this could be 3 – 6 hours a month.

VOLUNTARY GRANT FUNDRAISER
Alex TLC is a trusted and experienced organisation offering support and information for all those affected by leukodystrophy. Leukodystrophies are rare genetic disorders that mainly affect the white matter of the central nervous system, (ie the brain or spinal cord). They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, most notably children. Leukodystrophies are usually degenerative, causing symptoms such as impaired mobility, vision, speech and hearing, incontinence, inability to swallow and loss of cognitive skills. In many cases, this sadly means a reduced or limited lifespan.
Established in 2004, we are recognised by the NHS and global stakeholders as the "go to" organisation for those affected by these devastating conditions in the UK.
Like many other small charities, we have grown organically from an informal support group to the recognised voice for leukodystrophy patients and their families. To fulfil our charitable objectives, we need to increase and sustain our grant income levels.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working with our Trusts and Grants Fundraiser, we are looking for volunteers, preferably with experience of grant fundraising, to:
- research potential grant making trusts for relevance to our specific objectives
- send applications using existing templates
- update our systems with details of applications
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your existing skills within a unique arena, learn about the difficulties facing those with rare disease, and give vital and tangible support to sufferers of leukodystrophy.
We need your help to give hope and support to people affected by leukodystrophy.
ABOUT YOU
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- an interest in Alex TLC and the work that we do
- basic understanding of the complexities of leukodystrophy
- excellent written skills
- excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- excellent organisational and administrative skills
- access to a laptop/computer, internet and printing facilities
- a basic understanding of (or keen interest in) grant fundraising
This is a remote role with an ideal commitment of at least two hours per week.

Overview: As a Volunteer Senior Fundraiser for our women's menstrual health charity in Malawi, dedicated to ending period poverty, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to improve access to menstrual health products, education, and support for women and girls in Malawi. By leading fundraising efforts, you will directly contribute to expanding our programs, reaching more individuals, and making a meaningful impact on menstrual health equity in Malawi.
Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to the context and needs of Malawi. Identify and prioritise fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve fundraising goals.

Donor Cultivation and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, local businesses, philanthropic organisations, and other potential supporters in the UK and Malawi. Develop personalized cultivation strategies to engage donors, communicate impact, and solicit contributions.

Grant Research and Proposal Writing: Conduct research to identify grant opportunities from local and international foundations, NGOs, and government agencies. Prepare high-quality grant proposals and applications, adhering to funder guidelines and deadlines.

Community Outreach and Awareness: Raise awareness about menstrual health issues and our organisation's work by supporting local women in community outreach activities, including workshops, presentations, and networking events in order to amplify our message and reach underserved populations.

Online Fundraising Campaigns: Plan and execute online fundraising campaigns using digital platforms and social media channels. Develop compelling campaign content, appeals, and engagement strategies to attract donors and mobilise support from a wider audience.
Qualifications:
- Passion for women's health, menstrual equity, and social impact in Malawi.
- Previous experience in fundraising, development, or related fields preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape, fundraising regulations, and cultural sensitivities in Malawi.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet fundraising targets within a flexible schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, fundraising software, and online platforms.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in fundraising practices.
