Main Duties and Responsibilities• Undertake community fundraising, individual giving and legacy and in memoriam fundraising under the guidance of the Charity Director.• Support the Charity Director in their fundraising efforts.• Administer bids for charitable funds from the Trust’s services.• Prepare papers for the Quarterly Charitable Funds Committee, which is a sub-committee of the main Trust board• Prepare the Charitable Funds Committee Chair’s report to the Board of Directors.• Keep accurate records of the charity’s income and expenditure• Formally acknowledge any donations in a timely manner and keep records of this.• Manage the charity’s email account.• Manage any grants received from external sources, e.g. via NHS Charities Together• Administer and authorise the Trust’s Team Wellbeing “Big Thank You” bids.• Liaise with the Trust’s Accounts Payable Team to ensure accurate recording of income and expenditure.• Bank any donations the Charity receives via cheque• Dealing with service users/donors• Represent the Trust/Charity in virtual meetings with external organisations

Harris Hill is looking for an interim Fundraising Assistant to support a national charity for 2 to 3 months on remote of hybrid basis, starting May 2024.
The role is full time but could be 30 hours per week. You can work remotely outside of London or hybrid inside London, supporting their mass participation team.
Key tasks and duties
Communicate with supporters on the telephone, offer tips for their fundraising, get to know them and build rapport.
Update records on our fundraising database.
Place orders for fundraising materials.
Respond to supporter queries via email and social media.
Any other duties that are within the scope and remit of the role and as agreed with your manager.
Ideally, you would have previous experience of working in a fundraising team, supporter care, or similar, happy to work predominantly on the phone, liaising with supporters.

Due to expansion of the team, a number of new roles have become available working remotely or from or offices at the National Cat Adoption Centre in Sussex. It’s fast-paced, thought provoking and varied work on a range of income generation products and channels.
Responsibilities of our Individual Giving Assistant:
The Acquistion & Retention teams, which make up the Individual Giving team, work together to maxmise the long-term return on investment for individual donors. In this varied role, you will play a key part in delivering the charity’s Individual Giving programme from concept to delivery, ensuring communications are delivered on time, to the agreed audience, within budget and to the highest quality. You will support in managing relationships with various external agencies, ensuring Cats Protection receives the best possible service. You will also liaise with a number of internal departments to ensure they are briefed on Individual Giving Activity.
What we’re looking for in our Individual Giving Assistant:
- Experience of assisting with the organisation of projects/activities or schedules
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively – orally and in writing - with a wide range of individuals
- Good organisational skills and an ability to meet deadlines
- An understanding of the principles of Data Protection

What you’ll do:

Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required

Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting

Respond to general enquiries in a timely and friendly fashion, ensuring needs are met, and participate in working groups, meetings, local events or activities as required

The Role:
The Marketing Assistant will play a key role supporting the Marketing & Communications team in implementing the integrated communications strategy and providing marketing support for the promotion of hospice services and income generation activity.
Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, but typically will include assisting with delivering our social media calendar, creating engaging content for use across our communication channels, writing copy for press releases and arranging photo calls, assisting in print and publication production, and updating content on the website.
What you need:
The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar marketing role or have a qualification in marketing or communications and demonstrate a strong team ethic and creative flair. You must be highly organised and have excellent communication and relationship building skills. You’ll need to be able to work well within a busy team and able to work on a number of projects simultaneously.
