About the role

The West London Women’s Service is a specialist gender and trauma informed Assessment Centre for women with complex needs who are at risk of, or have experienced domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and have multiple disadvantages.

We have a great opportunity for someone interested in working as part of an innovate women’s only service in an Assessment and Reconnection role and becoming part of this exciting team achieving positive outcomes to support women in their recovery and move on journey.

In this role you will:

  • Be part of a busy team environment working closely with women new to, or at risk of rough sleeping.
  • Provide a personalised case management service to clients, turning assessment recommendations into practical action plans which fully involves the client. 
  • Build and maintain effective relationships to support clients throughout their recovery. 
  • Develop a knowledge of relevant legislation such as, welfare benefit and housing legislation. 
  • Work on a weekly rota including early, mid and late shifts (some evening and weekend work may be required).

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience managing complex and difficult situations in relations to people, have good interpersonal and listening skills, patience and resilience and the ability to adapt to new situations
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety people.
  • Understanding of the issues involved in providing support to people with complex support needs including mental and physical health needs, substance dependency and who may be on low (or no) income.
