About the charity:

This is a fantastic time to be joining MAG, as they unveil a new five-year organisational strategy and ambitious fundraising strategy to transform income across the UK, US and globally. About the role:

You'll play a key role in ensuring MAG's new global fundraising strategy becomes a reality, by developing and implementing multi-channel individual giving campaigns in the US and UK. The ambition is to significantly transform and grow unrestricted income from individual and mid-level donors and legacies.

It's a heady mix of creativity blended with hands-on delivery and implementation, as well as leadership of a small fundraising team (IG Officer and Global Legacy Coordinator).

About you:

Working collaboratively with the Head of Public Fundraising, you'll drive forward the strategic growth of a global individual giving programme. Utilising upgraded investment to build the donor base, you'll aim to improve supporter retention and loyalty and maximise lifetime value.

You'll need in-depth technical knowledge of direct marketing and legacy fundraising techniques, with experience of delivering in the UK or USA. You can adapt your approach and communication style for different audiences and understand the nuance of operating in global markets with differing needs.

About the role:

The Procurement and Logistics Advisor provides strategic and operational logistics support to multiple country programmes across allocated portfolios, while acting as enabler for MAG’s Procurement and Logistics function transformation initiative.

This position facilitates logistics change management, supporting adoption of MAG logistics and procurement SOPs and systems at country programmes level, while providing hands-on support to country programmes counterparts in managing any contingent needs.

The post holder will work closely with key colleagues across multiple MAG functions and geographical locations, to ensure adequate risk management processes are in place for MAG’s Procurement and Logistics operations.

We are seeking a senior procurement and logistics individual with experience in the NGO/humanitarian sector. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in overseeing large-scale operations in challenging environments, both in field and head office settings across multiple countries. Essential skills include exceptional team leadership, the ability to optimize resources and logistics systems, and a proven track record in organizational change management. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical capabilities are vital, alongside a talent for fostering inter-departmental collaboration and remote work coordination.

*We are currently recruiting for a Global Procurement and Logistics Advisor. This is a permanent position which has been classified as ‘roving’. This means that you will be expected to be visiting MAG’s programmes for 60% of your working time or more. When not travelling or in a MAG programme, you will be based at home.

Part 1: Role Purpose:

We are seeking an outstanding Programmes Officer for an exciting opportunity to support Street Child’s programme portfolio in Liberia and Sierra Leone. This role will cut across Street Child’s programming in the region, including a specific focus on the $12.8m Education for Every Child Today (EFECT) Project which aims to enrol 96,000 out of school children in school across West Africa over a 4-year period.

The key objectives of this role are to work closely with Street Child’s federal partners to support the effective implementation of adaptive programming, and to support accurate and timely donor reporting across a range of institutional, trust & foundations, and corporate donors. The ideal candidate will have strong written and excel skills, with experience of MEAL and financial management processes. The role will engage regular, detailed interaction with Street Child’s UK and European fundraising community.

The role holder will work in close collaboration with Street Child’s regional Head of Programmes, based in Freetown, as well as partner Programmes, MEAL and Finance teams to coordinate timely and quality implementation and reporting across the programmes portfolio.

Based in Monrovia, whilst serving a regional brief, the role-holder will be expected to be especially involved in supporting the programmes, and wider life, of Street Child of Liberia. This aspect of the role in particular demands a confident, ‘self-sufficient’ and motivated personality – who is excited by the opportunity and attendant career potential, as opposed to being overawed by the inevitable, multi-dimensional challenges.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

Reporting & Programme Funding Engagement – 35%

• Review narrative and financial quarterly reporting from country teams and provide feedback.
• Lead on the consolidation of narrative reporting (low-mid value donors) for a variety of donors within the portfolio.
• Ensure regular information flow to Street Child communications and fundraising teams, inclusive of collection and drafting of case studies and photos.

Your key areas of responsibility will include press office management, preparing PR & Media plans for each of our key markets, preparing pitches, media releases and content for media outreach and building a library of case studies to showcase our work. Your other key area of responsibility is supporting our highly successful celebrity liaison to raise Animals Asia’s profile through earned, owned and shared digital platforms, print and broadcast media. Humanists International is embarking on a 2-year programme of work in order to realize some long-term improvements to the Freedom of Thought Report. We are looking for an enthusiastic research coordinator to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.

As a research coordinator you will support the Casework & Campaigns Manager to administer, plan and produce the Freedom of Thought Report, providing evidenced-based research to shape and influence human rights policy as it pertains to the non-religious.

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per year based on experience (Pro rata if part-time)

About the Role

Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills. 

You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.

This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. You will also be expected to attend a number of board-level meetings held on weekends to take meeting minutes - further details are listed in the Key Responsibilities section.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking charge of the day-to-day financial activities and office administration of the organisation.

• Ensuring high-accuracy bookkeeping and bank reconciliation are completed to deadlines. 

• Ensuring adequate financial documents are filed on Drive to comply with the audit requirements.

• Preparing invoices and receipts to stakeholders as required.

• Generating month-end Budget vs. Actual Report from accounting software on time, for the Director of Finance and Operations to review. 

• Preparing financial data for quarterly Finance Report in tables for the Director of Finance and Operations to conduct quarterly financial analysis.

• Assisting the Director of Finance and Operations with the preparation of financial data, tables and files for the annual budgeting and UK audit.

• Reviewing and processing expense claims. And ensuring the Expenses Policy is being followed. 

• Preparing and attaching expense receipts to the CEO’s monthly credit card statements.

• Being the first point of contact of the organisation. Managing office inbox, answering office calls and sorting out the letters.

• Attending online board meetings (four times a year on Saturdays) and investment committee meetings (twice a year on weekdays between 5-7pm) to take meeting minutes. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance.  TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

• Assisting the CEO with board papers and circulating them to board members before board meetings.

• Arranging flights and accommodations for the CEO and board members to attend in-person meetings when required.

• Arranging meetings for the CEO when required.

• Assisting staff and board members with queries on finance or administrative matters.

• Any other appropriate duties.

Essential Skills

• Accounting, finance, or economics qualification.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in bookkeeping and administration roles. 

• Experience using financial software. e.g. Quickbooks, Xero, Sage or equivalent.

• Understanding of the chart of accounts structure, cash/accrual accounting basis.

• Understanding of the expense claim process.

• Experience preparing the budget. (Not necessarily the whole organisation’s budget, but specific section(s), for example, travel costs and fixed-costs related budget lines would be essential.)

• Excellent organisation, time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise and plan a busy workload. 

• Self-motivated and able to meet all deadlines.

• Supportive, collaborative and able to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Abilities to work independently with initiative.

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of the annual audit process.

• Understanding of the organisation’s annual budgeting process.

• Experience of working in a not-for-profit sector.

• Awareness of charity accounting and restricted funds.

• Submitting Gift Aid Claims.

• Experience using CRM system.

• Experience in remote working.

The Supporter Engagement Officer plays a key role in the development and implementation of Mary’s Meals UK’s fundraising activities, to secure increased support and funding for the organisation’s overseas school feeding programmes. 

This role has particular responsibility for prioritising the growth and nurturing of the volunteer network, building relationships and resourcing our community volunteers within East London and Essex.

Principal duties include:

• Promote the formation of more local groups, to encourage our community volunteers to meet and support and encourage one another in their efforts.
• Steward, develop and closely manage certain donor relationships where appropriate.
• Work to proactively create opportunities to share the Mary’s Meals story, with the purpose of inspiring action.
• Contribute highly creative ideas for new fundraising campaigns or initiatives and play a significant role in formulating and implementing approved campaigns in the local community.
• Support our community volunteers with resources to ensure our network is empowered and enabled, ensuring responsibility for the promotion of our campaigns and materials with our movement.
• Act as an ambassador for Mary’s Meals, representing the organisation at public engagements and supporter events – and, where necessary, delivering speeches or presentations to a wide range of audiences. 
• Collaborate and work closely with the Major Giving and Partnerships Team to maximise opportunities with corporate partners in East London and Essex.
• Work closely with the communications team to promote fundraising stories and events and provide input into creative and engaging fundraising resources and educational materials.
• Research, analyse and present data which informs decision-making with Head of Supporter Engagement and other senior managers.
