BEfriend is a registered charity operating in the London Borough of Ealing since 1994, and more recently, launching in the neighbouring borough of Hounslow. Our aim is to reduce chronic loneliness and isolation experienced by local people through one-to-one volunteer befriending and social events.
Role Purpose
To take responsibility for BEfriend’s trust and foundation applications and generate new funding opportunities.
Main Duties:
Trusts and foundations
● Lead on the trust and foundation funding applications which deliver BEfriend’s strategy.
● Work with the staff team to ensure that BEfriend’s work is accurately represented in funding applications.
● Research funding prospects and ensure a strong pipeline of applications at all times.
● Develop and maintain good working relationships with current and potential funders.
● Lead on reports to funders and work with colleagues to ensure reports are completed on time, meeting funder reporting requirements.

Role outline and purpose
Working as a key link between the Philanthropy team and wider organisational teams, the Philanthropy Content Reporting Manager – Trusts will create specific reporting materials for our key funders. To support the Programme Finance Manager in running efficient and effective programme financial accounting, programme financial management and programme financial reporting processes in relation to AKF (UK)’s programmes and grants. To provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept notes/proposals to final reports. 4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
4.1 Programme financial planning, management and reporting
In close consultation with the programmes/partnerships team:
• Support the design and implementation of effective quality controls to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to maintain appropriate donor stewardship, including through manuals, checklists, templates, and other tools
• Monitor spending and activity implementation and ensure regular scheduling of grants management meetings, alerting the Programme Finance Manager and Programmes/Partnerships team about significant under or overspend on a timely basis
• Maintain internal tools that track active grants, cost recoveries and cash balances and ensure they are kept up-todate
• Maintain internal tools tracking pipeline and secured funding (Awards Information Management System -AIMS) and ensure they are kept up-to-date
• Prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including (but not limited to) the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboard and quarterly cash balances (co-finance) report.
4.2 Grants management and compliance
• Maintain the grants management tracker so that grants are properly recorded and monitored, ensuring that input from the Programmes/Partnerships team and the Programme Finance Manager are incorporated on a timely basis
• Undertake administrative tasks related to grants, including setting up of grant codes (pipeline and secured), collecting and forwarding information to different units and executing follow up tasks as required
• Review budgets for concepts/proposals, ensuring the inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team and field units to ensure these are complete, accurate, consistent with the narrative, compliant with donor requirements, and correctly formatted for presentation to donors
• Support the preparation, review and submission process for donor financial (and narrative as relevant, e.g. ECHO) reports to ensure compliance with donor requirements; ensure reports are produced on time to a high standard and are consistent with the narrative
• Ensure timely submission of cash requests as required by donor contracts and internal sub-grant agreements
• Prepare donor and internal sub-grant agreements with AKDN agencies, field units, and implementing partners, including (but not limited to) those with co-financing
• Ensure that donor and AKDN rules are being adhered to regarding procurement, accounting, project expenditure, and implementation of activities through regular reporting, engagement with the field, and remote spot checks
• Carry out monitoring visits and audits on specific projects as necessary
• Assist in the preparation, support, and follow up of internal or external grant audits and expenditure verifications of AKDN field units, including direct liaison with auditors as required, and ensure that management (programmes and finance) is apprised, including through maintaining and updating the audit and disallowance summary
• Develop and deliver relevant training and reference material on grants management, including procurement, donor regulations, IATI, finance and reporting for Programme, Finance, and other field-based staff; act as a resource for agencies/field units on donor regulations and compliance
• Ensure all AKF (UK) direct grants are reflected on the IATI system, and update the required information on a quarterly basis
4.3 Audit, internal controls and risk
• Contribute on programme finance to all audits and statutory compliance in line with UK and AKF/AKDN regulations and compliance requirements
• In collaboration with field units, prepare due diligence assessments for potential new partners or donors and ensure these are refreshed periodically
• Troubleshoot financial, donor compliance and procurement-related queries identified through monitoring grants or as raised by management or field units
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations. The role will involve travel to countries in which we operate grants. Normally this could be 2 – 3 trips per year.

Job Role:
The Development Officer will join Forces Employment Charity during an exciting time as the charity grows and expands its business development, fundraising and income generation. This role will support two key College projects; the Global Health Workforce Project for 3 days a week and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) replacement project for 2 days a week.
For the Global Health Workforce Project you will be responsible for the RCPath’s overall project management and delivery obligations as lead partner. The Partnerships Manager will primarily be responsible for managing a new and exciting multi-year strategic partnership. We are looking for a Programme and Engagement Manager to deliver Young Westminster Foundation’s Helping Hands Programme to tackle Serious Youth Violence in North Westminster. The role is focussed on directly engaging local voluntary organisations and community members in North East Westminster who have been directly and indirectly affected by youth violence.

The Young Westminster Foundation (YWF) was established in 2017 to support young people growing up in Westminster to have healthy, safe and bright futures. THE ROLE:
The Programme and Engagement Manager will be responsible for delivering Young Westminster Foundation’s Helping Hands Programme to tackle Serious Youth Violence in North Westminster. The Helping Hands Programme is a VRU-funded programme set up in 2021 to address the impact of Serious Youth Violence in 3 wards in North Westminster. The programme is led by the voices of young people and community members who have been directly and indirectly affected by youth violence. A community-led fund is available for local organisations and community members to give local people ownership over creating innovative opportunities for the community.
You will be responsible for taking this work to Westminster’s Church Street ward in the North East of the borough, using the learning from the existing programme. You will directly engage with local voluntary organisations and community members, assessing their needs and supporting them in accessing opportunities already available in their area, whilst also identifying any gaps in provision. You will identify forums and proactively create opportunities and spaces through outreach for people to listen and share views.
You will work closely with our Helping Hands Programme Lead and Westminster City Council’s Integrated Gangs and Exploitation Unit (IGXU) to deliver this work, and with the entire YWF team to ensure learning from the programme is joined up with YWF’s other programmes. In particular, you will work closely with our Membership Manager and refer local organisations into our membership for further support, if applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local communities, including voluntary organisations, young people, parents, schools, businesses and community groups

Schools2030 is a global programme focused on holistic learning and teacher leadership. The programme brings together a diverse coalition which includes educators, school leaders, civil society, researchers, international organisations, and government across ten countries and 1,000+ schools. The goal is to improve quality teaching and holistic learning, and to foster resilient education systems across the world, including for those living in remote regions and those facing multiple forms of marginalisation and crises.
The Senior Programme Officer for Schools2030 will lead on resource mobilisation for the Schools2030 programme as well as allocation of funding across the programme countries and workstreams. The Senior Programme Officer will coordinate closely with the Schools2030 Partnership and Finance teams and will manage the smooth functioning with the rest of the Schools2030 Global Secretariat.
