Charity People are very pleased to be partnering with a growing and forward-thinking circa £10million turnover international charity based in London. My client is looking for a Management Accountant (Grants and Partnership) to join their agile, forward thinking Finance team.

This is a newly created contract role till December 2025 role. The salary being offered is £53,507 per annum with amazing benefits and investment for your personal development by the organisation.

You will be reporting to the Head of Management Accounts and will be office based twice a week.

Some of your main duties are:

• Developing budgets for concept notes and proposals.
• Ensuring financial requirements for grants are managed properly by all involved in approved grants.
• Allocating expenditure to grants according to the agreed budget.
• Preparing financial reports for donors according to donor requirements.
• Lead or support donor audits against the grants.
• Dealing with donor queries.
• Maintaining and improving partnership management guidelines from the financial aspect.
• Ensure the financial clauses in the standard partnership agreement are aligned with partnership guidelines.
• Ensure the financial clauses in any partnership agreement are adapted according to the situation.

Candidates applying for this role must have the following requirements:

• Proven experience in the grant management cycle and Donor Reporting and Proposals (US and European donors)
• Proven experience in the financial aspects of Partnership management and the allocation of Expenditure to a number of Donors
• Proven experience in the financial aspects of Partnership management and agreements
• Significant knowledge on working on Donor Budgets , Reports and Audits.
• Understanding of working with Partners and the reporting and disciplines required
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to ensure compliance with organisational policies.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and analyse complex financial transactions.
• Proficiency in financial software (SUN and Vision Q&A preferable) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge and use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 , Power BI and Power Query preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both internal and external stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.

Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

​

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships. 

​

They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

​

The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:

​

(a) oversee the smooth running of our projects; 

(b) provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and 

(c) support the overall growth and development of the organisation.
 

Role-Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

2. Oversee the development and operational execution of detailed work-plans and budgets for WWR programme

3. Track all milestones and reporting schedules, taking timely action to ensure they are met.

4. Develop and deliver project MEAL activities in collaboration with our external MEAL consultant.

5. Produce (gather, collate and edit)  high quality, timely project progress, annual and donor-specific reports.

6. Oversee the management of partnership agreements and contracts in accordance with the donor specific requirements.

7. Support the identification and securing of new grant opportunities in collaboration with the programmes and fundraising teams.

8. Communicate administrative and technical information to WWR project partners in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.

9. Assist team members, volunteers, partners and members of the public with queries, demonstrating tact and understanding when dealing with complex and serious issues, deliver a consistently high and appropriate level of service and support to individuals contacting WWR.

10. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and management of both UK and international WWR volunteers.
     

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in grant or contract management in a humanitarian or development environment.

• Demonstrable experience of adhering to principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and administration of programmes and project lifecycles.

• Demonstrable experience of applying monitoring systems and managing budgets.

• Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience working in the nonprofit sector.

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
 

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Duties and responsibilities

Manage the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure places are secured, participants are supported and engagement is expanded.

· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Oversee the development of the fundraising area of the website and fundraising pack to attract new funders and fundraisers to the charity, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly.

Person specification

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills. 
 

Qualifications criteria:

· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).

The Royal Hospital Chelsea has secured a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to restore and adapt our Grade II* Stable Block, designed by Sir John Soane, into a state-of-the-art Visitor Centre with an expected annual footfall of 36,000 visitors.  

We are seeking a Retail Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the new Soane Stable Yard shop, Post Office counter, and online shop. This pivotal role involves ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, and leading a fantastic team.

The Retail Manager will train and manage a dedicated team of staff, Chelsea Pensioners and volunteers . In addition to driving high levels of customer service, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering against sales target, inventory management, visual merchandising, product sourcing and development and management of the online shop.

This full-time position requires some flexibility with weekend and evening shifts to accommodate the shop's opening hours. The post-holder will work closely with the new Audience Engagement team and Retail Consultants.

We are looking for a confident, big picture policy expert to work alongside the Director of Policy & Communications and lead our ambitious policy team to deliver impact. You will take evidence from the field and lab to the heart of governments across the UK, influencing change through science.

About the role

Reporting to our Director of Policy and Communications, the Senior Policy Manager will:

• Identify key areas of policy focus where the BES is uniquely able to add value to national conversations around biodiversity and climate.
• Direct the work of Policy Officers to deliver the BES policy strategic aims and objectives, and work collaboratively with the Policy Committee.
• Help identify and convene key stakeholders from the ecological community, including academics, eNGOs, policy makers, funders, and landowners and managers, to discuss, debate and coalesce around recommendations.
• Oversee our policy reports at both a national and UK level, working with authors and contributors to deliver publications that move a debate on and are resonant to their audiences.
• Organise events for ecological and policy audiences, independently and in partnership with other organisations, to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
• Track legislation and policies at the devolved, national and international levels and identify opportunities for BES input and influence.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sport Team. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Opportunities Programme as Sports Manager. In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing our in-house and community-based Sport Project. Your aim: To help make physical activity accessible to those experiencing homelessness.

About the role:

As the Sports Manager, you will be responsible for The Sport Project. You will be overseeing the day to day running of the project and management of the team including Sports Coordinators, freelancers, volunteers, and peers. You will be leading on expanding the reach of the project, forming partnerships with like-minded organisation and charities and advocating for the importance of physical activity within the homeless sector.

In your role, you will also manage relationships for grant givers and funders, including being responsible for budgets, reporting and reconciliations. Additionally you will support the team in the wider role out of the project across the homelessness community, at time this may involve helping to deliver a proportion of physical activity and helping to engage wider groups of participants and staff.

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships with external partners and helping to make physical activity accessible.

About you:

• Experience managing staff or volunteers and freelancers.
• Experience and knowledge of managing projects or partnerships.
• Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds and in different settings.
• Your toolkit includes practical expertise in group dynamics and co-production, or you have the enthusiasm and aptitude to develop these skills.
• Experience of working or supporting vulnerable people, rough sleepers or people with mental health, physical health or substance use support needs.

Programme Manager (Executive)
Location: Based in London with travel to sub-Saharan Africa 
Hours: Full time (Office Based)
Salary: £75,000 – £90,000 (Negotiable dependent on experience) 

Our client is an independent foundation that invests in children and young people in developing countries to improve their lives and to maximise demographic dividends for long term economic growth.

They do this by partnering with visionary African governmental leaders to deliver on initiatives that have the potential to positively and dramatically enhance the life outcomes of their people and the trajectories of their countries.

Focusing on and supporting the efforts of their partners to aid success, our client has recently adopted a new strategy with a clear accountability target: Over the next five years, they want to have played an integral role in substantially and tangibly improving 23.5 million lives. 

The role
This is a key role within the organisation, internally support the Senior Program Directors, as well as externally working directly with government partners to provide implementation guidance, in order to ensure the successful delivery of transformational, cross-sectoral initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In this role, you will review and develop program-related materials that drive strategic priorities; monitor program achievement progress; manage local consultants and technical assistance providers; provide financial oversight of grants; identify and highlight compelling stories about leaders with whom they work; document and help disseminate best practices across their programs; and track and document results across programs. 

This role is focused on working directly with inspiring government leaders to implement their human capital development goals for their people, and you will be expected to interface in a respectful, savvy, and non-prescriptive manner with government colleagues, while simultaneously providing the honest feedback of a true partner.

In this role you can expect a dynamic environment and a culture of collaboration, innovation, and drive for highly leveraged outcomes. 

Experience
To be successful you will need extensive experience in managing complex and large-scale program implementation, ideally in Sub-Saharan African countries. 

You will have a good understanding of how governmental departments work (ideally with direct experience working within government) and have had significant interactions at high policy levels within governments, with proven experience in managing complex and politically sensitive relationships with different stakeholders. 

Able to demonstrate methodical program oversight and management, you will need an exemplary work ethic with a drive for achieving concrete results from often complex environments.  You will be experienced in the use of program management tools such as dashboard creation, program monitoring and strategic planning and be able to example good financial acumen and excellent research and analytical skills, with ability to synthesise comparative research clearly. 

Knowledge wise we are looking for substantial, relevant expertise in one/some of the following: health, nutrition, job creation, urban development or education, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa. This will include familiarity with evidence, key actors, and proven interventions in a broad range of human development areas. 

This role will suit someone who is used to working at the most senior levels and brings excellent people skills and highly developed communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills. You will support the ambition of policy champions at national level Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Project Manager

Keep Britain Tidy has a new opportunity for a Project Manager to manage the Chewing Gum Task Force programme. The Chewing Gum Task Force is a partnership between Defra, the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland, Scottish Government and Welsh Government and chewing gum producers including Mars Wrigley and Perfetti Van Melle which aims to clean up historic gum staining from UK high streets and change behaviour so that more people bin their gum.

The Project Manager will lead on overall administration of the scheme and manage the cleansing grant programme for councils, working alongside partner organisation Behaviour Change. In Years 1 and 2 of the scheme, participating councils have seen reductions in gum littering of up to 80% in the first two months. Now in Year 3, we will shortly distribute more than £1.2m funding to councils across the UK.

This is an exciting role within a fast-paced charity. You will have a proven track record in project management, ideally in environmental projects and/or grant schemes. Excellent organisational and record keeping skills are a must, along with the ability to form good working relationships with Chewing Gum Task Force stakeholders.
