The Victoria Hall CIO charity is looking for a committed and self starting person to grow use of a brand new community building. Your aim will be to enable the facilities to be vibrant and well used so that they serve community groups, businesses and organisations in the area.
The charity is keen to bring on board someone with the vision and personality to create a vital new welcoming and dynamic centre. Harrow is a changing and developing place and these facilities are located at the heart of this.
The role involves the practicalities of running a safe venue and the marketing skills to grow regular users and engage with those who want events and activities well run and accessible to a wide range of people.
You will be delivering the day to day running of the facilities, compliance with procedures, ensuring the safety of users and operating a booking system as well as marketing to a high standard and overseeing caretaking.
The Trustees are looking for a person with skills and experience of:
- Running, practically, a community centre or similar facilities.
- Working with stakeholders across all sectors and building positive relationships for mutual benefit (including fundraising) to communities.
- Growing income in voluntary settings.
- IT skills to keep up to date records including in managing money.
- Being a self starter with attention to detail and used to working under your own initiative.
- Marketing and social media skills to engage the target market.
- Developing a team of volunteers.

Project Development Officer – Urgent Carers Breaks
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week) Part time or Job Share will be considered.
Salary: £27,174 per annum FTE (rising to £29,824).
As a registered charity providing a wide range of practical and emotional support to carers, including information, advice and personalised home care and carers breaks, we are excited to be launch a brand new urgent carers breaks service. Carers in need of an urgent break, will be supported to access a service that is free to them either through a direct service from Carers in Hertfordshire care services team or from an alternative specialist provider. The project development Officer will set up and manage this innovative project liaising with staff across the charity to ensure high quality care.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about high-quality person-centred care and has the skills and experience to lead this new development. The successful candidate will have a level 5 diploma in leadership for health and social care, and an understanding of what it takes to develop a new service.
This exciting new project is designed to make sure that carers in West Hertfordshire can take a break knowing that the person they look after is happy and well cared for. Whether it is time to recharge their batteries or to attend their own health appointments this service will make sure they get the support they need. Taking a break can be a vital support to enable a carer to stay well and continue with their caring role

The successful candidate will join our team at a time when we are putting a greater emphasis on our free charitable services and this position will play a pivotal role in helping us increase our support for people with dyslexia and dyscalculia.
The Relationships Officer will be responsible for a wide range of our key relationships, and help to drive income growth across our events programme, our publications and our digital platforms. But this role is not just about short-term income, it is about developing deeper and more meaningful long-term relationships that deliver value for our charitable work as well as supporting our partners. As well as supporting our fundraising, marketing and events teams, the role will work with our senior leaders to identify those who have a synergy with our cause.

We are looking for people who care, have patience and life experience and like working with young people. Due to increasing demands for our service, we have several Talkback learning assistant vacancies to deliver a range of services to our members with learning disability and/or autism. Within the Equip team, you will be working part of your time in local Further Education colleges supporting young people,( 16-25 years old) one to one, towards their education goals. We also do community based projects including gardening and allotment groups (some of which are based in National Trust properties), social and life skills training, a men’s independence group, travel training, a drama group which puts on regular shows, a recycling and tools workshop, a creative media group and a group working with animals.

Project Workers – Learning Assistants - £18000- £19200 p.a. or pro rata
Both full and part time roles available (a minimum of 3 days a week)
Full year and term time roles available
No shift work or evening/weekend work
You will work at our High Wycombe and Aylesbury buildings, plus in local colleges and out in the community. You will work alongside people with a learning disability or autism to meet their individual needs also support young people with their families to achieve positive outcomes.
To succeed you will be able to work both as part of a team and independently and have a 'can do' attitude. You will need to have good communication skills and an understanding of how to build confidence in a young person. We can teach you all you need to know; you just need to have the passion and care.
