About the role
The St Pancras Community Association (SPCA) is a charity delivering high quality services for Camden residents, especially the lively and diverse community of the St Pancras and Somers Town ward. As the Director of SPCA you will lead and guide a highly skilled and motivated team to make the SPCA a community hub and a centre of excellence which has a positive impact on the lives of local residents.
The governance of SPCA is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Director will report directly to this Board and work closely with Board members.
Key responsibilities

Main tasks

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.
This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. You will also be expected to attend a number of board-level meetings held on weekends to take meeting minutes - further details are listed in the Key Responsibilities section.

Taking charge of the day-to-day financial activities and office administration of the organisation.

Attending online board meetings (four times a year on Saturdays) and investment committee meetings (twice a year on weekdays between 5-7pm) to take meeting minutes. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance. TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. The Senior Accountant (Financial Control) post can be based in either the London or Manchester office. This role is in the central Financial Accounting and Control Team (FACT). In addition to being DCMS’ financial accounting Centre of Excellence, the team leads in the production of the consolidated accounts of the DCMS Group (with 34 of its 42 Arms Length Bodies directly consolidated) and manages the National Lottery Distribution Fund. Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant (Financial Control) will include:
- Management and delivery of robust financial policies, controls, processes and systems.
- Management of the core department’s key finance system (Integra) and the relationship with the department’s shared service provider.

The organisation Working with a very well-established charitable foundation, the organisation comprises of three independent schools and two state-funded academies.
They are the holding company which owns the school land and buildings and manages the endowments valued at c.£50m. The Foundation Office delivers a "head office" type finance function for the Group and a range of other services to the schools, including governance and HR.
Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. The post reports to the Group Finance Director and the finance function are assisted by a part-time Finance Officer. The core part of the role is the production of the
annual report. You will also manage the group cash treasury system, managing 20+ bank accounts.
You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. The annual audit is also a major part of the work, and you will be expected to play a key part in the management of the audit and preparation of the financial information for both the Foundation, and its trading subsidiaries and charitable trusts. There are significant capital projects in the pipeline which will also require support.
What you will need to succeed

For a progressive, forward-thinking university in southeast London, we are recruiting a Deputy Financial Controller. This is a new role, reporting to the Financial Controller, which will lead a high-performing team of 4, and manage the statutory returns, external financial audits, financial reporting, and the balance sheet. The Deputy Financial Controller will produce high-quality financial, management, and regulatory reports, and insightful financial control analysis and information essential for strategic decision-making. This role will lead the ownership for the Oracle ERP platform and will deputise for the Financial Controller as needed.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the timely and accurate production of year-end financial statements
- Own the relationship with the external auditors and be responsible for continuous audit process improvements
- Lead on taxation compliance, and lead on policy updates to Finance Regulations
- Lead on cashflow forecasting and treasury management

Financial Controller - Projects | London | 12-month FTC | £55,000 - £60,000
For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Financial Controller for a fixed term of 12-months. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller and working closely with the CEO, this role will lead the financial management and internal controls for the Regional and Country offices and shared service processes and transactions. The Projects Financial Controller will implement robust management reporting, and cash-flow forecasts, and will work with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecasts. This is a key role within the NGO, and will be instrumental in building Finance knowledge, capacity and delivering training to Regional and country offices.
What you'll be doing:
- Monitoring and improving financial control processes
- Monitoring and analysing Regional, Country, Project and Departmental budgets and reporting including annual accounts of Country offices and reporting to external Donors
- Provide capacity building, training, and Finance support to all stakeholders

St Paul’s Cathedral School are pleased to be exclusively partnering with Robertson Bell in search of a new Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. St Paul’s Cathedral School is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 5 to 13 (Reception to Year 8).
The Financial Controller will report into the Bursar and be responsible for for the whole of the School’s day-to-day accounting function to ensure effective procedures and robust controls are in place for all aspects of the function.
The organisation:
Situated in the heart of the City of London, at the East side of the Cathdral, the School enjoys state-of-the-art facilities for academic work, music, performing arts and sport in a single-site campus. With around 275 pupils (with up to 36 Cathedral Choristers who are boarding pupils), the School is small enough to ensure that each pupil receives individual attention, yet large enough to offer an array of academic and extra-curricular opportunities that a Prep school could deliver. There are 84 members of staff, comprising teachers, teaching assistants, music instructors and a support team.
The role:
- Assist the Bursar to seek commercial income opportunities and monitor and advise on school investments through liaison with external investment managers.
- Deputise for the Bursar in all finance matters and at governor committees, or at SLT meetings when requested by the Head.
- Support the Bursar’s financial and audit responsibility.
- Check Income & Expenditure (I&E) variances and explain and compare findings to previous year, to budgets and to forecasts.
- Prepare weekly cashflow forecast and monthly management accounts.
- Compile and analyse the annual school budget, setting and monitoring.
- Prepare initial input data for new arrivals, departing staff, music teachers and additional overtime payments.
- Modernise the finance IT package and update the finance manual.
- Oversee and administer school fee collection, process supplier payments and invoices.
- Prepare and present the annual accounts for the annual statutory audit and liaise with the auditors and implement audit findings.
The successful candidate will be:
- A fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or at Finalist level.
- Experienced in budgeting, forecasting and producing management accounts.
- A fantastic communicator.
- Experienced in developing and implementing financial systems and internal controls.
- Confident assisting with annual audits and in the preparing of annual accounts.
This position will be based officially at the head office in central London next to St Pauls Cathedral and will require the postholder to work from the office with occasional hybrid working. Role Overview:
The purpose of the Executive Director roles within Depaul is to ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are delivered through a strategic, shared approach by the Trustee Board, Executive Team and wider workforce.
As the appointed candidate, you will manage the Finance and IT departments and provide strategic and operational management of financial and budgetary processes, ensuring sound, prudent, financial management in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, underpinned by relevant policies and procedures.
You will provide support for income generation, and other service activity, to secure financial sustainability.
You will also report to the CEO and manager a team of 10 people - currently 8 FTE in Finance and 2 FTE in IT, including 2 direct reports – Financial Controller and Head of IT & Systems.
As part of responsibilities, you be attend meetings of the Council of Trustees, the Trustees’ Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC) and the Depaul Housing Services Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a financial service to Depaul UK that meets regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure robust systems and processes for financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and corporate reports to Depaul International, owning an effective relationship with external auditors.
- Support and guide budget holders and senior managers in their financial management responsibilities and produce the annual budget and periodic reforecasting.
- Provide strategic oversight, and monitoring, of the corporate risk register reporting to the CEO and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
