Urban Saints are looking to recruit a new Communications Manager to join the team. This is a critical role, where you will be taking a lead to ensure that Urban Saints' internal and external communications are as effective as they can be. You will manage the Communications Team to ensure effective delivery of our communications strategy that promotes the identity and values of Urban Saints. Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:
As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for Women’s Aid communications – including major campaign moments and brand awareness. Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer:

To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required.

To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.

To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices.

To work with a diverse range of survivor case studies and media spokespeople, including Women’s Aid member organisations, and to ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.

What we are looking for in our Senior Communications Officer:

At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar.

Since 2013, Arts Emergency has been providing 16-25 year olds in London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and beyond with a trained mentor working in their field of interest. After they complete a year of mentoring, Young Talent can continue to access opportunities, advice, resources and paid work from the Arts Emergency Network until they turn 26. What you will be doing:
Main Role Responsibilities
- To work with the Head of Commercial and Events on the development of the commercial strategy with the support of Trustees, the senior leadership team, members and other staff and stakeholders as necessary.
- To be responsible for identifying and delivering key income streams, as outlined in the commercial strategy to meet agreed financial targets and KPIs.
- To manage existing and develop new relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfactions whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities.
- Measure and evaluate the success of the commercial strategy business development and income generation workstreams.
- To represent the NFCC to corporate audiences and at corporate events, delivering pitches and presentations.
- To continually be researching new business opportunities for specific target markets.
- To develop new corporate partnerships through relationship building.
- To be responsible for the account management of appropriate partnerships and provide the highest level of relationship management.
- Preparation of reports, briefing papers and other information on various matters, when required.to the senior management team and Trustees including liaison with senior members and officers across the National Fire Chiefs Council, other relevant staff across Fire and Rescue Services.
- Act as liaison and first point of contact for commercial enquiries into the NFCC and dealing with them as appropriate. Enquiries may be from within the organisation, other fire and rescue services or elsewhere.
- To create and assist in the drafting of timely and well-informed reports, business cases and provide advice regarding commercial developments.
- Develop an effective network with Fire and Rescue Service sector groups and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain management processes and systems that provide for clear and understandable management information.

Purpose of Post

- Enter and maintain accurate records on our fundraising database, Donorfy including financial information and to proactively identify how to improve processes.

We bring together charities, corporates and government to address the underlying issues stopping families gaining full access to digital services such as education, healthcare and employment. Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. Key focus areas
- Building relationships with public, private and third sector organisations, including the wider DPA community.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving.
