FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups.

The role
This role will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network.
For designated top food partners, you will be their day to day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels. You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them.
You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.
You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.
Main areas of responsibility
Partnership Management
- Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources.
- Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and
- agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution.
- Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.
- Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.
- Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.
- Keep up to date with industry and charity insights and ensure this is reflected back strategically across ways of working and account management
Project and Initiative Management
- Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the FareShare network.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics, Operations and Network Development teams with the aim of optimising food out to our network
- Develop and lead FareShare cross-departmental strategic activity to enable us to derive maximum value from key food partners including liaising with fundraising, marketing and volunteering teams

- Demonstrable experience managing multiple accounts in the FMCG, food, retail or comparable sector with professionalism and integrity consistently meeting or exceeding challenging targets

The Head of Finance will manage the high-performing finance team consisting of a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Finance Business Partner. Sitting in the Business and Resources Directorate the team are instrumental to the successful running of the RCR. As Business Development and Engagement Manager within the Workplace Mental Health & Training team, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth, partnerships, and engagement from corporate and community settings for both Mental Health UK and Rethink Mental Illness. You will work to secure funding from a wide range of sources, including commercial activity, public sector contracts and grant funding, to allow our work to continue and grow.
Working in our National Programmes team, you will ensure that we evaluate, plan for and respond effectively to bids and tenders, lead on the development of proposals, and support service delivery teams in implementing successful tenders/proposals. You will manage a Senior Business Development Officer who supports our work in positioning the organisation to respond to new bids and tenders and, where required, support the implementation of new services.

Job Background
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising who can work with the service delivery team to link earned income into the Fundraising Strategy, secure both unrestricted and restricted income and through grants, trusts and foundations as well as with corporate partners and individual donors. You will work collaboratively with teams across the charity and won’t be phased by the inevitable challenges that this will bring, or the constantly changing environment that the charity will be operating in the next few years.
In this pivotal role UKHarvest is seeking a strategic Head of Fundraising to lead the charity’s efforts in generating vital financial support and building meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. You will have a proven track record designing and implementing fundraising strategies that achieve revenue targets and have the charity’s ethos at the heart of everything you do.
Main Objectives
With responsibility for the Fundraising at UKHarvest, the post holder will:
- Research and manage a pipeline of trusts and foundation applications that offer restricted and unrestricted funding.
- Write applications, using information and expertise from colleagues as necessary.
- Identify new fundraising opportunities from a range of sources, including national and local government; individual supporters and commercial opportunities.

- Lead and manage the process of reporting to existing funders and Trustees.

Required experience
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years fundraising experience as a Head of Fundraising, managing and leading a fundraising team. A strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, set priorities and drive results, you will have experience in developing and sustaining funding streams using a variety of techniques to secure restricted and unrestricted funding, major gifts, grants, events, and corporate partnerships; combined with exceptional communication skills to engage and inspire donors, volunteers and stakeholders. You will be able to motivate and develop a high performing team, set targets, and promote a collaborative culture. You will care about social justice, environmental sustainability and food waste as these pillars underpin all UKHarvest activities. Purpose of the Business Development Manager role:
As Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in generating income for the charity – securing high value corporate partnerships and working on product development in collaboration with service delivery teams. In 2013, Upbeat Communities launched Derby Language School (DLS) which is a social enterprise that provides language courses to individuals and organisations in the East Midlands. Alongside generating considerable income for the charity through its private and corporate classes it also provides quality language training for many refugees through contracts with councils.
In 2021, Upbeat Clean was started in response to significant challenges that refugee women have in finding employment to support their families. Upbeat Clean’s 5-year goal is to be able to offer a Real Living Wage job to every refugee woman who needs one in Derby. Main duties and responsibilities

An exceptional opportunity has arisen to lead the British Museum's Corporate Partnerships team. With ambitious plans for the future and Dr Nicholas Cullinan starting as Director this summer, it is an exciting time to join the Museum and build on its strong track record of support from the corporate sector. We seek an exceptional and entrepreneurial fundraiser to drive this activity, lead a high-performing team, and contribute to the success of the wider Advancement Department.
As Head of Corporate Partnerships, you will be responsible for maximising sponsorship and philanthropic income from the corporate sector. You will work strategically - both individually and through your team - to secure major sponsorships and donations, optimise the Corporate Membership scheme, and attract in-kind support. You will meet agreed targets and operate effectively within a demanding environment involving multiple stakeholders. Working with Museum's senior leadership and with the business community, and representing the Museum at events and meetings, are key aspects of the role.
You will bring a sound understanding of corporate sponsorship and have extensive experience of fundraising for a major cultural institution, university, or charity, or of working in a comparable sales or target-driven relationship management context. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships, are vital for success in this role. In addition to being a skilled negotiator with good commercial awareness, the successful candidate will remain informed about sponsorship and brand partnership trends and use their creativity to develop the most attractive corporate partnership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing an agreed strategy for support from the corporate sector for key fundraising priorities, including the core work of the Museum, exhibitions, public programmes, and capital projects.
- Meeting agreed targets for corporate fundraising.
- Identifying and developing new sources of corporate support in collaboration with the Department's research function.
- Stewarding and cultivating corporate supporters.
- Ensuring that sponsorships are managed to the highest standards, benefits are delivered, and that the best possible reports are produced at the end of projects.
- Overseeing the continued development and growth of the Corporate Membership scheme.
- Evolving the corporate offer creatively and entrepreneurially to respond to market conditions and developments at the Museum.
- Motivate and manage the corporate fundraising team.
- Supporting the Director of Advancement and senior leadership with high level approaches.
- Ensure that to Museum's fundraising processes and procedures are followed.
- Work effectively and productively with colleagues across all teams and contribute to a healthy, supportive working culture.
- Attending both corporate and other Museum events (evenings & early mornings).
Person Specification:
Educated to degree level or above, the successful candidate will have extensive experience of corporate fundraising or in a comparable target-driven role. Excellent people management skills are a must with experience of leading teams, developing staff, and motivating colleagues to achieve ambitious goals. We are looking someone who is highly organised, self-motivated, has sound professional judgement and resilience. A strong communicator, you will be confident in diplomatically dealing with a variety of stakeholders both in writing and in person.
