At UK Community Foundations (UKCF), we put inclusivity at the forefront of all we do, we put relationships first and we are ambitious for our members and the communities they serve.
Everyone should have the opportunity to have a fulfilling life and to feel they belong. This can’t be mandated by government, or done to people, only with them. Change needs to be driven by people who understand the local situation and our support makes this possible.
UKCF is a national network of community foundations based all over the UK. Community foundations connect philanthropic people with local causes that matter to them. They are charitable organisations focused on supporting a defined geographical area by leveraging funds to support community needs and local organisations making a difference. As well as supporting our members, at UKCF we explore social challenges, we provide national funding and we work with those who have the solutions to improve lives.
Benefits of working at UKCF include 30 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, up to two days paid leave for volunteer days, season ticket loans available, enhanced pension and a flexible working plan. As a disability confident employer, we welcome applications irrespective of your age, disability or impairment, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion and belief, gender reassignment, sex or sexual orientation.
About the role
Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning.
We’re looking for someone who can support the team to develop, co-create, train and deliver inclusive and exciting learning that encourages creativity, curiosity and critical thinking in the areas of philanthropy and grant making. Your role will be diverse and a blend of project work, event management and administration. Our members vary from very small teams with two or three staff to well established very well resourced foundations. The Membership and Learning team are the contact point for all CFs: answering members’ enquiries, championing best practice and raising standards.
Working closely with other teams including Communications, Business Development and Programmes, the Membership and Learning team has an oversight of all UKCF activity relating to our members. Therefore the ability to listen, problem solve and engage others is critical. Take a look at the full job description for more information about the role.

Turquoise Mountain is a British charity that was founded in 2006. We believe artisanal heritage matters and has the power to transform lives. We support artisans to thrive and to revitalise traditions in regions of the world where artisanal heritage is endangered, and to connect people through heritage.
Turquoise Mountain is a fast-growing organisation with offices in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, and the Levant, and with over 400 international and local staff members worldwide. We combine a cultural heritage focus with a wide scope of activities; we support artisans to thrive and to revitalize their traditions by any means necessary, and to connect people across the world through heritage. The places where we work are complex and sometimes affected by conflict.
Sound financial records and prudent management of our finances is core to everything we undertake. We have a small central Finance team that closely works with in-country Finance Teams. Because we, as part of our charitable mission, promote the sale of artisan goods to international markets, Turquoise Mountain has a trading subsidiary and also engages independent trading entities in the countries in which it is active. This means our Finance focus covers both charity and commercial, across different jurisdictions, and with culturally diverse teams. This makes the Head of Global Finance role a diverse one, that requires the ability to switch quickly, to build strong relationships, to lead and guide, whilst maintaining spotless financial records and financial compliance and providing senior management with the information and transparency it needs to make strategic decisions.
This is an exciting time to join TM, as we expand our operations and implement best-practices, the opportunity is there for someone who is committed to capacity building and leading a team through positive change.

As our Fundraising Officer, you will have the exciting opportunity to make a huge difference in improving the lives of people living in hygiene poverty. The income generation team will play a critical role in this changing organisation.
If you fit this profile and want to use your talents to improve the lives of people across the UK and are interested in remote working opportunities in a flexible organisation with a values-led ethos, we would love to hear from you!
About The Hygiene Bank
Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean. It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview.
Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. In 2022, The Hygiene Bank published groundbreaking research into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 3.1 million adults across the country are currently experiencing hygiene poverty and that it is both alarmingly widespread, increasing and disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable. It stops people from participating in society, feeds the mental health crisis and blocks routes out of poverty. It is simply unjust.
At The Hygiene Bank, we believe that everyone deserves to feel clean. That is why our network of projects exists – to give people access to the basics they need.
