Job description

Job Title:Major Gifts / Campaign Managers

Reporting to:Managing Consultants

Place of Work:Sussex and Hampshire opportunities

Salary:£37,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

About the role 

Due to the expansion of Compton’s capital campaign operations on the South Coast we are seeking experienced major gift managers for project-based work in Sussex and Hampshire. 

Working to a Compton Managing Consultant, you will be embedded with Compton clients to work alongside Trustees, in-house fundraising teams and volunteer fundraising leaders to develop, manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of major donors, trusts and corporate partners, help to create compelling fundraising propositions and stewardship plans, personally approach and create opportunities for contact with wealthy and influential individuals and provide a positive, day-today leadership influence with the fundraising team.

Person specification 

·Proven track record of identifying, stewarding and securing major gifts upwards of £50k

·Exceptional written communication and presentation skills

·Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills

·Experience of setting and measuring and monitoring outcomes from funded activity

·Target-driven

·Ability to balance competing priorities and work under pressure

·Ability to anticipate problems and formulate solutions

·A practical understanding of fundraising, GDPR and charity regulation and best practice around prospecting stewardship and reporting.

·Collegiate and a team-focused approach to working within a small team

·Highly IT literate including Raiser’s Edge

·Good understanding of financial processes relating to fundraising (including Gift Aid and other forms oftax effective    giving)

·Ability to manage own administration and manage Development team administration
