Context and Background
The innovative services that we develop are a critical part of the NSPCC’s fight for every childhood. We transform lives by working directly with some of the most vulnerable children and families. This role will help develop our service offer in respect of preventing and tackling child sexual abuse, with a focus on the ongoing development, coordination and implementation of our secondary education service. This aims to support secondary education settings to be places that foster healthy relationships and keep, young people safe from abuse.
Job purpose
• Scoping, leading and project managing programmes, services and products within the Development and Implementation Team within set timescales and budgets.
• Managing a matrix approach to service development and design, bringing together people, resources, skills and talent from across the organisation to conceptualize, design and create new programmes, services and products
• Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all new developments are informed and underpinned by evidence, have a theory of change and support the NSPCC in delivering its strategy
• Working with research colleagues to plan how outcomes and impact will be measured for each new development.
Key relationships - Internal
Reporting to the Associate Head of Development with close links to the Head of Development and Implementation, the post holder will work closely with an internal project team, managing workstream leads from digital, comms, content development, schools service, income generation and subject matter experts and have frequent interaction at Director level and other senior stakeholders. They will be in frequent contact with multiple teams and directorates as they operate a matrix style of project development.
Key relationships - External
This role will develop relationships at Director level and other senior stakeholders across a range of external partners including from Education, Children Services, Police, Health Partners and the third sector for the purpose of influencing, learning, collaboration and engagement. They will also work closely with participation and people with lived experience who support service development.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Project delivery
· Accountable for end to end delivery of the development and delivery of projects within the D&I team, with a focus on education
· Ensure projects are well managed and desired outcomes are achieved and benefits realised
· Lead a matrix approach to service development and design bringing together a multifaceted team from inside and outside of the NSPCC

· Establish and maintain an effective governance and project framework for any development

Person specification
1. Knowledge relevant to NSPCC strategic objectives, specifically the education sector, relationships and sex education

Role Summary:
Working for the Head of National Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing income-generating corporate partnerships to drive forward engagement across the whole Speakers for Schools proposition.
This role is the engine of growth for the charity: sourcing, engaging, and developing partnerships with employers across the UK. These partnerships will provide opportunities for high-need young people across the UK to access our programmatic interventions while delivering income to support the financial sustainability and growth of the charity.
This crucial role will demand close collaboration and working across all directorates to develop and deliver compelling and successful bids and proposals to potential partners.
This role offers a starting salary of £31362, rising to £33948 after a years successful service.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic Purpose:

- Experience of business development with a variety of stakeholders and owning, managing and delivering an ambitious commercial target.

As Marketing Lead, you’ll head up the marketing to our Employer and Higher Education (HE) audiences - from crafting compelling email campaigns to growing our audience on LinkedIn. Employers and HE are our two newest audiences, and you’ll play a key role in driving their increased engagement and growth, ultimately helping us to support as many students as possible to make informed decisions about their next steps.

The primary role of the Governance Assistant is to provide administrative support to the workstreams under the Head of Governance, which include but are not limited to, annual work plan, royal charter, bylaws, elections, policies and procedures and GDPR compliance.

The Governance Assistant’s duties and responsibilities include:

Work closely with the Head of Governance to ensure the charity is compliant with regulatory requirements

This includes but is not limited to preparing agendas, taking minutes, action logs, sourcing venues, liaising with delegates, booking travel and accommodation, catering, sourcing audio visual equipment and facilitating remote attendance, collating meeting documentation, recording minutes and /actions;

The Charity Director will be responsible for managing the charity on a day to day basis throughout its next phase of development: developing and implementing the strategy for the organisation, building its capability to deliver this strategy through fundraising activities and putting in place a small team; driving awareness of the SINCE 9/11 Education Programme among key audiences and overseeing the financial administration of the charity, in line with the goals set out by the charity trustees.

In order to do so, we are now seeking a talented, driven and engaging leader who can take our charity to the next level. We believe that we have a high-quality programme to take into schools and other settings working with young people; our challenge now is to ensure that our programme reaches as many schools as possible.
We therefore need a leader who is confident and creative in building relationships with schools, academy trusts, local authorities, subject associations and teaching unions; someone who is familiar with the national education environment. Supported by a high-profile and committed board, our new director will be tasked with putting all of their energy into building those relationships and ensuring that we have a step change in the number of young people accessing our programme.

This is a part time position of 28 hours per week over 5 days (or some of these days) with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced proportionately to 22.5 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday (or some of these days), with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 28 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

You will be someone who enjoys supporting others in an administrative role and is happy to get involved in a wide variety of people and operations-related tasks. This role will require flexibility, a keen eye for detail, and good problem solving skills.
You have the ability to handle sensitive information and will work closely with the Operations team and Managing Director to uphold and continually improve our governance & processes.
You’ll be able to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment and be excellent at prioritisation and managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
Primary Duties:
Administrative (30%)

Supporting the Operations team with a variety of administrative tasks relating to people, systems, finance, governance, and compliance

Organising purchasing of products, equipment and subscriptions as the team requires

Managing the subscription renewal calendars, ensuring timely review for renewals

Provide logistical support for whole team meetings, events and workshops, budgets and quarterly reports

Support the order of the team drive, organising items as needed and responsible for helping maintain the UK naming conventions across the team

Keeping track of hardware and fixed assets

Administrative support for other departments as necessary, such as supporting logistics of departmental workshops and retreats
Team meeting and support (35%)

Manage System user-guides, How To guides & Best Practice guides

Monitor and manage the main organisational email inbox, triaging to other departments and handling enquiries and responses directly where possible

Remotely host whole team meetings, Diversity Equity and Inclusion discussions, weekly reflections, and wellbeing sessions (guidance and support will be provided)

Booking meetings and coordinating travel requirements for national and international travel

Assisting with the daily management of operational activities

Support Lead People Operations Coordinator as required with hiring practices, such as listing jobs externally, administration related to interviews and adding transcripts and proofreading closed captions for job webinars
Executive Assistant support (35%)

Support the Managing Director, helping with information requests, internal and external communications, board papers, scheduling, meeting preparation, minutes, updating Asana tasks and timelines, administration and expenses
